Hey, I'm at the event early for the PTQ and two cars of people for the PTQ crashed. I mean ripped the cars apart crashed.
I'm cancelling the main event and running something small (hopefully a mox) for whoever shows up. Please let everyone know not to drive on the roads. They are all ice and they only look wet.

There was concerns with there being so many people that I would have to turn people away. I've done a few things to fix that problem. First I called the site and reserved the larger hall. Secondly, I have updated www.overtheedgegames.com with more information. You can now preregister for the tournament on the website. There is also a list of nearby hotels I found on Orbitz.com that are ridiculously cheap. As a side note, there will be a party at my place the night before for all the OTE people. Please call me and let me know if you are coming.

Hey guys, This tournament is going to have FIVE , yes that`s 5 proxies. However, if you sell a card in your deck over the course of the day (like to trade for a mox) we will make and sign a proxy for you to use. Something to note. All money from the enterance fee will go directly into prize support AND THEN SOME. We are trying to run the largest type 1 tournament since 1997. Tell your friends, tell your friends` friends, and heck... tell your enemies, lets make everyone start paying attention to type 1! - Andystok andystok@overtheedgegames.com

This being the only place I can post anything, I figured I would put the topic up for discussion. I can see the potential need for keeping random people off some boards to keep the quality of posts up, but seriously look what is being asked. The qualifications required to start a new post are more strenuous than the requirements to write and article for a major non magic web site that pays free lance writers.
So, I must concede that it might make sense to restrict the high level discussion boards to certain members only... but why the tournament annoucements? I could be giving away a mox to every person that enters the a free tournament, but I can't tell anyone because the tournament annoucements board is too special for us normal people who don't sit on the net for hours to be able to login to and update some tournament information?
Does anyone else agree with this? Please let someone know that can change things. I'd like to be able to tell people I'm giving away free stuff.
