I was happy that Eric won- for those of you who don't know him- he's a really cool guy that is also really good for vintage.  Kind of like Vassago!

I couldn't make the tourney because of child care issues, but rest assured I'll compete for the mox.   Very Happy

Well run Tourney as usual Doug.   Smile

Okay, I've got a really good one.  My buddy Lotushead got me back into playing magic several years ago.  I thought my old school tech was really something (not!) and I was so thrilled that he was all tapped out (so no counter spells!) I dropped lotus, Taiga, and played Channell, Fireball for the win! He then patiently and nice as hell shows me this card in his hand called Force of Will...

Damn you LotusHead!  And thank you!  Very Happy

Thanks guys.  Glad to be back.   Very Happy

Doug has been extremely helpful in getting me the cards I need to get back into vintage.  Keep holding on to that Library for me buddy.

And MeatRocket, thanks for whipping me with your painter deck.  What ever doesn't kill me, will make me stronger.   Smile

I was at that tourney, making the drive from Phoenix with a good guy named Jeremy, and it was my first one since getting back into Magic.  Had a great time.  I was happy to see many diverse decks out there.  I went in with a non-fully powered deck with no proxies.  I just wanted to play and get my feet wet.  I actually won my first match against a really cool Storm deck, and I gave him the draw because my opponet was fully powered (proxied) and I felt he'd have a better chance than I would (plus he was representing Phoenix/Mesa like me).  The next match a took a draw because my opponet took too much time.  Then I faced a tanglewire deck which I hated!  Some good trades were had and the owner was really nice.

Props to a new friend I made over there named Eric who was really cool.  He was playing a no proxy fully powered deck (The first deck listed above I think).  Had an awesome binder full of betas that made me drool.  He was nice enough to part with his Chaos Orb too, and let me play it in a casual game with him.  I'm glad he split the top prize cause I was really rooting for him.

Also propos to LotusHead all the way from NorCal who helped me with my deck and has given me really good ideas for substitutes until I power up fully.

I like this idea a lot.  The fact that your going off the top of your library to find an imprint makes it viable.  There are some good combos to utlilize this as well.   Very Happy

My groups always let me play multiplayer with my power, but if I start going broken, the whole table goes after me.  I'm soo Switzerland when I play.   Wink

One of my favorite things to do when playing casual is "Door to Nothingness".  Freaking awesome fun.   Very Happy

I agree with what Prodigal_Sorceress  wrote.  I play to have fun, win or lose.  Don't get me wrong, I'm competitive, but for instance if I'm playing a multi-player game and a younger gamer joins in, I'm not gonna Force of Will his Craw Wurm.  I also LOVE playing casual because I get to play my favorite card of all time:  Chaos Orb.   Very Happy

I really like this deck idea.   Very Happy  Running non-traditional lands also helps with land hate like Sundering Titan which I'm seeing a lot in my area.
