Its quite amusing but im sure someone will end up buying them. I took a look at his other auctions and he has bought a ton of fake cards.
On a funnier side note he also bought this:

3  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / I could Really use help....CT AREA STOLEN CARDS on: September 27, 2005, 09:29:14 pm
Hey guys im hopeing someone in the connecticut area namely anyone that goes to dragons lair in west hartford, ct. A man named luis rivera came into a store tonight i was playing at grabbed my deck infront of 6 people and ran, and boy did he run. I couldnt catch him. But i know his name and so do the police. I also know where he plays and who he plays with. Only problem is the police dont know his address.

So does anyone know him or know his address?

If you know him all i really want is my cards back. Given the value of the cards stolen the police are heavily involved and are serious about arresting him. Id rather just have my cards back then him being arrested. So if you know him please give me a and him a hand. Because i will eventually find him now that i know his name.

Thank you guys im sure someone will help since this is such a tight community.
4  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Mana Diffusor on: September 04, 2005, 08:14:51 pm
Its not a terrible card but with a crappy creature like Initiates of the Ebon Hand this card turns into an easy infinite mana combo. Though its still be a 3 card combo to kill it still could be broken. It might nerf the card but i think having it tap would suffice.
5  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Was this a good buy? on: June 20, 2005, 12:13:24 am
Well i dunno how much this thing is worth but I met this guy and purchased the rest of the collection. I really wanted this thing but he wouldnt let it go. I dont know if this is a fair price but you will definitely receive the item. I wandered through it and its in fairly good condition. I was impressed by it.

7  Vintage Community Discussion / Rules Q&A / Helm of Awakening + Fireball on: January 11, 2005, 02:15:07 pm
Im just making sure im correct in this assumption that helm of awakening can reduce the X cost of a spell. Using fire ball as a bad example, with two helms in play could I fireball for 2 paying only 1 red mana?

Its a stupid question I wouldnt want to screw up so thanks for your help.

9  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Let it vary on: March 14, 2004, 03:45:34 pm
From my experience in statistics threw field biology and such I was taught that comprimises have to be made to get enough data. In that case you can either keep a tight requirement on the number of people at the tourneys or let it vary all over the place and count any and every tournament. With keeping it tight your giving up possible precious data. When you let it vary you sometimes let in outliers. Here I would let it vary all over the place and include every tournament. Even though their small tournaments there still a tournament and part of the meta. but thats just my opinion and its up to you. good luck i cant wait to see it when your done.   -jay
10  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Discussion] Giving Away Wins for Cards Cheating or Not? on: February 24, 2004, 12:29:13 am
I was having an argument the other day with a friend who in a recent tournament accepted 2 tundras for a 0-2 loss after beating this person. I also saw after time running out rolling the dice for a win.

I think the two are separate issues but all in all, in my opinion, its just flat out cheating. The issues that could arise:

a.) The biggest being you scam other people than the two of you out of doing well in the tournament
b.) Could it distort the meta game?

The tournament im talking about is from the past weekend in Rhode Island. Here I did fairly well finishing 9th and right behind me was Kerzner in 10th(sorry if I hacked your name) both of us just out of top 8 reach. After looking at the standings the player that had bribed my friend placed in the top 8. Im not saying both of us would have top 8'd but if he had lost his spot may have been ours. If it wasn’t ours it definitely belonged someone else.

Talking with other people we decided there were two categories giving away the win can fall into. The first is exchanging the win for cards, goods, or money. The second is "I cant top 8 so you can just have the win."

The second category ill talk about first, this is where you have no chance at making top 8 and the person you are playing usually is in the same boat. Here sure you could call it cheating and I would but effects are minimal. On the other hand there is a few occasions where you can meet your friend in a match and your friend gives you the win to better your chances. This isn't right.

The first category, exchanging wins for goods or money, is a little tricky. I would think if your willing to give up something for the win your most likely in contention for a prize. Does cheating apply here? To answer this question we can compare it to a sporting event like baseball. If team A is paid to lose to team B is that considered cheating? Of course it is, and people have been in huge amounts of trouble for it. On a smaller scale you can link that directly to this point. Player A is paying Player B to lose the game on purpose. But does it effect the game often enough to call it a problem?

Distorting the meta game may be a far fetched point but its worth a mention. If a Landstill player or someone playing another tier 1 deck is bribing their way threw a tourney or even once and places high in a tournament, someone looking at the results using it to judge a meta isn’t going to have a clear view of how it should have been. Weak point I know so ill leave it as is and move on.

So the question being asked here is bribing or even giving away the win cheating? What can be done about it? Can anything be done? Is it even a problem and im just complaining for no reason?

Another thing I didn’t mention is rolling for a win after drawing. Using the Rhode island tournament as an example the two players that should have drawn but rolled for it actually drawn both players wouldn’t have made top 8. But by rolling one of them would have made top 8 and did. This wasn’t the only time in the tournament where I saw people rolling for the win but that roll had a definite effect on the top 8.

This post is not here for everyone to complain about getting burned by this. Though if you have asked for a win and giving them something for it I would like you to justify doing so. Please no flaming, just discussing.

Mana drain has to be played in landstill, you all most depend on it. On topic i feel that card drawing is not an issue so much in this deck. Landstill generates its advantage from disk and manlands instead of out drawing the opponent. Popping a disk can set a player back many turns and put u at a huge advantage where card drawing in other decks would gain the same type of advantage. Just my two cents hopefully we will see some drains on the next post.      -Buda
