1  Eternal Formats / Creative / Nether Void or Trinisphere. on: March 31, 2004, 02:27:00 pm
I'd play it if you're playing budget. void is certainly the better card. it's just a matter of control vs aggro.
2  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Discussion] When is the price of a mox out of hand? on: March 31, 2004, 02:23:31 pm
A friend of mine bought a full set and other cards for a grand.

It came with 4 Mana Drain, 2 Abyss, 3 Nether Void and various other vintage good rares. All near mint.

You should ask your friend to sell off some of his stuff and send you back to first grade for Christmas. -kl0wn

yeah, I never drop it first turn unless I'm going to use it 3 or four times in the coming turns.

I usually do, anyway.

5  Vintage Community Discussion / Casual Forum / help with Control deck (ignores restriction list) on: March 25, 2004, 04:04:24 am
A friend of mine went back east to visit family, and while he was there, he got to stop at a type one unrestricted tournament. I said to him, "holy dicks, here, borrow my p9" and we sent him on his way with about 3 1/2 sets of p9.

he had 3 decks set up for the day -- recnotrix, necrotrix and turboland. he went to the store the night before to play a few hands and scope out the metagame. Basically, it was similar to blia's metagame.

He decided to go with unpowered turboland. He trounced nubdecks left and right. What he had the most trouble with was the 100% burn decks that ran no creatures and made Oath useless until he could wish for and resolve a funeral pyre -- his 'tech' against no creature decks. I think he had a little trouble against a lady with suiblack, but I'm sure that was just a lie he told me.
