Ok, some may remember me, most probably don't, and that ok. A while back, probably about 8-10 months ago, enough time so I didn't see any of Kamigawa(and still haven't for that matter) I pretty much quit magic. I needed the time and money I used on it for other things(i.e. Car, car insurance, working, and I was starting a band). Well I sold pretty much all my "good" card except for a small contingent of artifacts, lands, and welders...to keep Slax together for time when I would start up magic again. Well I decided I can now afford time to play at a local type one tourney one saterdays occasionally. I believe it is unsanctioned and allows for 5 proxies, but until I find out for sure, I'm assuming it's DCI santioned. In no way do I plan on going back into magic as much as I had previously, atleast not yet. But I would like some advice on improving my slax(obv no power, or shops) and see if there is anything from the new sets that will help me. The meta I will be expecting(if it's still like it was when I used to go to these) is a bunch of random decks, mostly tribal, with elves, and probably zombies...anyway...there will probably also be a few extended decks with some T1 cards thrown in, and then there will be a few top notch type one decks. I've adjusted the main deck and sideboard for this meta, and any additional you can provide, is greatly appreciated.
Mana sources: 3x City of Traitors 3x Ancient Tomb 4x Wasteland 1x Strip Mine 5x Mountain 4x Great Furnace 1x Grim Monolith 1x Mana Vault 1x Lotus Petal 1x Sol Ring 1x Tolarian Academy 1x Mana Crypt 4x Metal Worker
Draw: 1x Memory Jar 2x Mind's Eye(or Grafted Skullcap, haven't decided which I'd rather use...) 1x Wheel of Fortune
Control: 4x Chalice of the Void 4x Smokestack 4x Tangle Wire 4x Trinishpere 2x Sphere of Resistance(other two are in the board)
Welders: 4x Goblin Welder
t3h w!n: 2x Triskelion 1x Karn 1x Masticore
Side Board: 2x Duplicant 4x Juggernaut 3x Tormod's Crypt 2x Sphere of Resistance 4x REB
Well, there you have it, thanks for any and all help in advace...

No, like seriously this was a huge problem on the old boards. It practically killed the tournament forum because of the huge amount of crap posts making it hard to find any of the useful information in there before we restricted access. And there were way, way fewer people back then. I came in right after you restricted things on the old boards, and I remember seeing some posts that were almost impossible to comprehend.

I'd just like to thank Zherbus for starting this forum. Ever since the Full Member Community Forum opened I've wanted to participate in some of the conversations that have gone on. So, I would just like to thank Zherbus for allowing us Basic Users a piece of the Community Forum pie.
Again, Thank You.

The best way of shuffling I've found is riffling before every game 5 or 6 times, and pile shuffle maybe 2 or 3 times before a match.

4 x ohpidian 2 x rainbow efreet [-Draz-] p.s. JP: This is who the hell I am... **EDIT** I thought that we were only adding two cards at a time? I took that to mean that you could only add two individual cards, not as many copies as you wanted of up to two cards. If this is the case then my additions to the deck are right here: 2 x mis-direction(just something random off the top of my head)

Nice thread. It was indeed a good read.
I am currently working on a new type of fish. It will include standstill, some man lands, disruption(in multiple forms), and low costed, quality creatures.
I do not plan on posting a list until after April 24th(the day of Waterbury) but in my tournament report for either it, or CC(I don't know which one I am going to...because I may have a ride to Waterbury and definitely have a ride to CC) I will include a list along with card-by-card analysis.

@smash: How can you say that this is too much like a pokemon card? because it has a coinflip? so what? and I"m sure as we all know...pokemon came after this card, so in reality, pokemon is too much like this card...also...either you have terrible luck...or you are only thinking of the many times in whcih you have been damaged by the card...and not remembering the times you haven't been damaged...in the former...there isnt much you can do...in the latter...well...taking some notes on every time you have to flip for the card is a way to look back at a tourney and see if it was too much of a problem(though I don't think I should have to be telling you this, because I get the feeling you do already)

I am in favor for, and opposed to attempting to monopoly on crypt.
As someone who has easy access to quite a few, and my "healthy" love for money, I say we all just stock up on them and make the prices for them go up and up...
As someone who lacks a majority of the expensive T1 staples(drains, shops, bazaars, and power) and is attempting to acquire these, I don't think it would be fair for the newer players to have to experience the same thing with Crypt...

I picked one up from my friend for 15 and havent regretted it, at the fifth dawn pre-release when I will see more dealers I intend to pick up atleast 3 more...they are about as tradeable as Sol Ring, ever since I got my first one it has been in every deck I've built...and I change decks mroe than...well...than something that changes a lot...I'm hoping that these definetly go up in value, they sure as hell aren't going down anytime soon...

My teammate Andrew(Echo on almost every good T1 site) came up with this format and I had to share it with you guys since there are players here that have been playing longer then we have, you've got to have even funnier old commons and uncommons... Rather than just re-typing everything Echo typed in our forums I'll just give you the link... Here's the link[-Draz-] PS don't forget to sign up for our forums

Welcome to TMD,
Great job on the finish...even though proxies were alowed I"m assuming that this build was mostly budgetized because of the comment on lacking workshops and power...I'd be interested if you posted your list...
I wish I could've been there but shit happens(like it usually does with me and power tournies) and I couldn't make it...

I've heard about the TMD chat room a lot since I've been here(a little before Big Z introduced 'Basic User' on old TMD) and I was just wondering what program was used and where it was on that program...I don't do chatrooms much so I don't know much about the different programs...
All help is appreciated,
[-Draz-]
**EDIT**A link to where I can download said program would greatly help also...

When someone says they spilt a mox of some other card, it usually means they sold it back to the store and split the money, or if one of the 2 people who split needs said card, some sort of deal will take place between the splitters where the one gets the card and the other gets about half of what it's worth...

everythign with your build is fine and dandy...but you are running 2 simulacrums and only 4 basic lands...good read, though, I wouldn't call it a primer, maybe an article, mini-primer at best, I'm sorry I come off being too much of a jerk, but primiers usually include a matchup analysis along iwht a few other things,
