1  Eternal Formats / Creative / Creating Realistic Proxies on: March 12, 2004, 11:09:58 am
I do agree that playing with unlimited proxies is great when playtesting with friends.   I have 18-20 current decks created because of essentialmagic.  It isn't practical for me to buy everycard for every deck so this makes it nice for my friends and I to play.

The problem i do see is that not all people will be honest and some will try to pass these "fakes" as real cards in trades  or selling.  With printers etc... getting better i guess we are all going to have to be extra careful when trading and buying cards,  especially online.

@ cssamerican   I need that printer for 8'10 pics from my digital camera Smile

With power the SoF/I is def playable but still on the slower side.  Without power it seems to be way too slow for the current top decks.  I haven't tested it in R/G Stompy yet, but have tried it in other decks and it has been an mvp in mono green land d and fairly good in many different artifact heavy creature base decks.

Stormbind is an interesting choice in this deck.  Seems to be too slow for what the deck wants to do, gain advantage early

Would be interesting to see how good some of these proxies look.  Seems some people are going beyond the normal proxy and more towards making a fake card that will pass as real.

Dunno why someone would go through that effort when you can just print out from essential magic and slip it over a land card.

Still that does strike my curiosity.  If you can create something that is soo  good of a copy you can't tell it is fake, does it essentially become real?

Nice job showing why Tog is doing so well now and is the tier 1 deck.

As far as your founding father spoof, it was pretty funny.  Smile

Who would play George Washington and Ben Franklin??

No, all you have to do is Time Walk around it. F/I is a crutch, in a pinch you can even Yawgwill for consecutive walks if need be.

Thanks for the time walk trick.  Just seems a little too convenient, but tog does seem to draw everything on earth.

Guess I won't hate playing Landstill with maze of ith in the sideboards as much.  Still going to be tough to push through a maze or two.  Gonna test this matchup post sideboard with a friend and see how it goes.

The list looks solid but I recommend keeping the strip.  The problem I have with lack of Fire/Ice and strips is Maze of Ith.  You pretty much scoop if a maze hits the board.
