1  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Deck] R/B Goblins on: October 19, 2004, 04:02:06 pm
Maybe i have been playing too much type 4, but could nezumi graverobber be a possibility?  It works as disruption, by removing their yard, and he can turn into a 4/2 beater with zombify ability.
2  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Deck Discussion/ Optimizing Dragon on: July 28, 2004, 09:57:56 am
The reason necromancy is run is becuase it can be played as in instant, and it gets around chalice for 2.  Running 3 different animates also protects against meddling mage (if it matters) and cabal therapy (if it matters).
3  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Single Card Discussion] Tsabo's Web on: July 12, 2004, 10:44:33 pm
I have played gay/r against tsabos web and i would say it is a good SB plan for tog.  I have won with tsabos web in play but it is difficult.  The thing is it takes up 2 or 3 spots in the tog Sb.  If i know the tog player is bringing in tsabos web i can bring in vandal or R&R.  It doesnt just win the game, but i think it is good.
4  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Discussion]Which cards/gobbos in FCG? on: May 16, 2004, 12:26:39 pm
sharpshooter is good cause it is an alternate win condition.  I don't know the exact combo, but if you have a prospector and SGC and Sshooter you can do a significant amount of damage.  It provides away to win without attacking.
5  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Psychic Vortex ? on: May 14, 2004, 01:13:35 pm
It seems like a worse grafted skullcap.
If you are looking for a blue enchantment that draws cards, it seems like standstill or mystic remora would be much better.
6  Vintage Community Discussion / Casual Forum / Old School Goblins on: May 10, 2004, 03:05:03 pm
oh man i love my old decks.  My first was white weenie

savannah lions
order a' litebeer
suntail hawk
holy strength

and some other random weenies

I also had this sweet counter/prodigal sorcerer deck
7  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Crucible Control - Let's forget combo and go for control on: May 06, 2004, 06:12:00 pm
What does this deck do if they drop a first turn threat like most workshop decks can do now?
I would reccomend
-3 fire/ice
+3 cunning wish
also maindeck reb might not be necessary

also maybe splashing white to this for Stp,balance, and doj
8  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Origins in June...Who is going? on: May 04, 2004, 01:10:54 pm
I'll be there, i can't wait. Man i need to get a better paying job, this game is sucking up all my money  Sad
9  Eternal Formats / Creative / Gay/r: my attempts at a primer on: April 05, 2004, 05:23:48 pm
I was never a fan of misd, i think that annul or another stifle would be a better addition.
10  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Discussion] Should the number of proxies be increased? on: April 05, 2004, 02:47:19 pm
I have had a couple of ideas about proxying.  I own no power and i don't think ill be getting any soon.

What if you could use unlimited proxies, but the prize give out for someone using a proxied deck would be less then someone who actually owns the cards.

What about a system where you have to pay extra to be allowed to proxy?

I don't know those ideas might be stupid, but i guess ill go with the five proxy rule.  I dont enjoy ten proxies cause it allows random people to netdeck slavery.
11  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Report] Gay/R wins in Scranton PA, April 3rd on: April 05, 2004, 02:33:53 pm
Congrats.  Great report.
I am also a unpowered fish player, and it's always great to see fish doin well.   Smile
12  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Choosing the right card protectors...how? on: March 31, 2004, 07:02:10 pm
just a warning, don't buy the satin gold ultra pros.  I had them for a week and they were cool, but then i guess sweat or something ruined the back cover and the cards would stick together. oh well they were cheap.
13  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Single Card Discussion] Read the Runes in Slaver on: March 30, 2004, 07:56:20 pm
i tested read the runes in control slaver a little bit.  It was a great card to throw your drain mana into, but it wasn't better then thirst or brainstorm.  I cut it for FoF.
14  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Shuffling In T1... on: March 28, 2004, 03:52:35 pm
Normally i will wait to see if my opponent shuffles my deck.  I also normally ask a t1 if a can shuffle their deck seeing as they might have a lot of high valued cards.

Why would there be cheating if you can draw a broken hand every time with decks like slaver?
just kidding
15  Eternal Formats / Creative / Gay/r: my attempts at a primer on: March 28, 2004, 03:36:01 pm
personally i am not a fan of voidmage.  I feel that he is to slow for the matchups you would actually need him in.  I feel that you do not need 4 daze.  I think 4 spiketails are good and 4 curiousity are necessary.  I also love stifle.  I don't feel that 3 maindeck fire/ice are needed.  I think maybe some more creatures would help out.

-2 daze
-2 voidmage
-2 fire/ice   (moved to sideboard)
+1 spiketail
+1 curiosity
+2 stifle
+2 goblin vandal (for my metagame)
my 2 cents

17  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Need Help With a First Design for Aggro-Control on: March 25, 2004, 09:41:57 pm
I like decree better then exalted because you can cycle with standstill in play.  Even though exalted is great, decree has more synergy i guess.
18  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Worse Than Fish.dec on: March 25, 2004, 07:32:06 pm
sorry that i got off topic about the red splash, but it seems that people are mentioning artifact hate in this deck so i gave my ideas

20  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Metagame Keeper: Chains Keeper, my build. on: March 25, 2004, 12:33:54 am
What happened to superman???

He hasn't been even remotely good in months, thats what. Please don't make posts like that. If you don't understand why he's not good, you probably shouldn't be posting in a Keeper thread.

21  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Need Help With a First Design for Aggro-Control on: March 25, 2004, 12:14:42 am
Good idea for a deck.  Standstill is one of my favorite cards because it adds to the mental game.  I am currently working on a keeper type standstill deck.  Maybe ill mess around with this workshop standstill.
22  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Deck Discussion] Meandeck Slaver on: March 24, 2004, 11:14:06 pm
When i drop the chalice i normally drop for 0 or 2.  Don't like to drop one cause of the welders duh.  If you're playing hulk or gat probably 3 to stop deeds and tog.  Against fish you would want to drop it for 2 to stop null rod and like half of the deck.
23  Archives / Archived Vintage Tournament Forum / [Report]Landstill takes 2nd in Columbus on: March 24, 2004, 06:11:25 pm
I have to say good game.  You came back to beat in the Top 8. THats a way to recover. Oh well hope you enjoyed your cash.
24  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Worse Than Fish.dec on: March 24, 2004, 06:06:46 pm
i just rely on null rod and goblin vandal to deal with artifacts.  I am also thinking about adding gorilla shamans just for a 1 drop hater.

This text is red. The splash color in my deck is not. READ THE LIST.

Honestly.

25  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Deck Discussion] Meandeck Slaver on: March 24, 2004, 12:04:39 pm
i agree with Toad.  The point is to use slaver and welder, not beat.  There is enough draw to get you a condition eventually but the primary goal can not be hindered by more creatures.
26  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Report] Smurfed Into Top 8 at Columbus Mox Tourney on: March 24, 2004, 11:52:05 am
I thought your deck was great for the tournament.  I was expecting the same thing you were soup. I love the name. It makes me giggle.

I have to apologize because i was one of the people who said damping stopped morph. oops. Embarassed
IM SUCH A NOOB.

Meddling mage is 1337
27  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Does Stifle have a place in hulk's sideboard ? on: March 24, 2004, 11:45:00 am
I think stifle is a great card.  It could deserve a spot in any blue control sideboard.  It helps me a lot in the slaver matchups, but slaver is what everyone is playing around here, and its getting old.
28  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Is Keeper a dead Archetype? on: March 24, 2004, 11:39:02 am
I think keeper's superiority comes from how balanced it is.  It always has answers for most situations.  But it comes down to the fact, why play keeper when u can play tog?

GOD DAMN PSYCHATOG YOU RUINED EVERYTHING (for me) WHEN YOU WERE BORN ONTO THIS PLANET!!!!!!!!
29  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Worse Than Fish.dec on: March 24, 2004, 11:28:06 am
I have been messing around with unstable mutation in my fish deck.  It turns my 1/1 cloud of faeries into the 4/4 big bad ass cloud of ass kicking. It has worked out ok for me.  It has seemed to help the most in my Tog games.  It speeds up the beats. What is your guys opinion of Unstable Mutation in Fish?
30  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Discussion] How good is Fish? on: March 24, 2004, 11:18:29 am
Yeah Doug its me.  Thanks for inspiring my Fish deck.  I agree that stifle was a winning card in the landstill match.

see you at the next tourney
