I'd like to see something that protects the Hermit against darkblast, since that card is everywhere. Haste, protection/shroud and removing Darkblast would seem to be the best options. I've come up with these so far: Concordant Crossroads, Steely Resolve and Delay. All are super shitty except concordant and that one isn't really great when facing anything that beats your face in.

There is a maindeck Pendelhaven in the original list, but that won't protect you from Darkblast EOT, dredge, then Darkblast on their turn.

Another idea I am flirting with is Llanowar Reborn (CIPT, taps for G, graft 1), which would protect you from EOT Darkblast, dredge, then Darkblast on their turn.  Being a CIPT land sucks, but the graft power itself is active the turn you play it, so it's fair as long as you don't count it as a mana source.

llanowar reborn does not work against blast, draw/dredge, blast on the same turn thou.

No, the whiney people with a $20 total deck budget will still call for it to be restricted, as well as those who whine about prison, as well as those who think mask and morphling are "overpowered"

Some would say that this was the reason gush was restricted. Grow made every other aggrodeck pretty much obsolete iirc. Workshop has somewhat the same effect. O-stomp is the one and only budget aggro right now.

Still, I don't think it's workshops that is the problem, more often it seems to be that turn one 3sphere which stops sui/gobbo in their tracks...

Sorry for the off-topicness of this post, just needed to get that out.

My report or How to lose 16 hours of your life.

< snip >

Game 2 - At this point I still think he's playing 4c tog.  I side down to t fire/ice main.  I regret this after the 1st dryad hits.  The second one hits and after some welders valiantly buy me time, I try a will.  He responds with cunning wish, for coffin purge with one black open.  His best targets are tinker or walk.  Tinker leads to an immediate platinum angel, but the walk could be riskier.  He picks the tinker.  I walk and play some stuff and draw into and discard the angel, which I welder into play while he's tapped out.  I walk and start attacking, hoping to be able to protect the angel.  He destroys the angel then attacks, I chump one large dryad with the welder and put damage on the stack.  I announce the welder and sweat hoping he has forgotten about the coffin purge, he does and I get the angel back.  Angel takes it home again.

< snip >

What really happened when you got the platinum angel into play? I read it like you had an active yawgmoth's win (which removes discarded cards), discarded a platinum angel and then welded it right back in. then you take your time walk turn etc... or did you just play time walk and some random stuff, then during your next turn you discarded and weldered your angel?

Shatterstorm is a nice FU, artifact deck.

Not that I have any "hands on" fish experience, I feel that possibly 2 swords of fire and ice could make the cut. The others dont help fish enough on their own. You really want an early (turn 2) curiosity, not one a turn later (mask of memory) - and íf you play mask of memory instead of curiosity, you probably want more than a just a couple. Of course, playing both is always an option (mmmm card advantage).

Bonesplitter could work against decks that will just let you play your stuff then wreck your board turn 4~6, the reason being that they actually have taken some damage by that time.

Conclussion: test 3-4 bonesplitters against controlish decks, and then a couple of swords against everything else.

Oh, I forgot, make sure you don't live in an area where you constantly have to play null rod on your second turn  Wink

I feel like the meta is geting some play.

If Slaver has trouble with fish (I'm not saying it does), how could it ever be teir 1? Sure it beats the hell out of a lot of the teir 1 decks, but I'm under the impression that gayer fish is everywhere, and if you lose to it more than 50% of the games, you could be in for a rough ride to the top spot.

So basicly what I'm asking, do slaver win over gayer fish often enough? Well?
