I think this card might actually fit in the Fish or Landstill decks that already run 4-5 strip effects. Is there room in the deck or is it to tight to fit 2 or so in it. Obviously this would greatly strengthen the mana denial aspect of the decks, but would it take away from the tempo?

I would only use Rootwater Thief if you have a heavy combo metagame, but then again I think Spiketail Hatchling could be good gainst combo too. Basically in a more even meta the thief takes up too much mana to let you do what you want with the rest of the deck. You have to pay to give him flying and to steal a card, limiting your manland attacks and making it harder to draw. The hatchling on the other hand only requires the casting cost to be used. He can attack in the air for nothing and can still be sacked to make an opponent pay 1 more for their threat. This fits more inline with the decks mana denial and tempo strategy. So that is just my 2 cents

Sorry I meant 3 wastes and 1 strip(oh and I actually only run 4 islands). I should pay more attention to my posts. I also should mention that my metagame is kinda small. I do see Keeper, Mono-Blue, EBA(style decks), Welder(non Slaver so far), combo is rare but I have seen it all, and some random stuff(mostly aggro. I am currently running for mana:
4x Underground Sea
3x Tropical Island
3x Volcanic Island
4x Island
5xFetchland
3xWasteland
1xstrip mine
1xMox Diamond(now comence with the WTF?!?! i know you are thinking it.)
1x Sol Ring
Ok.. Yes this does obviously mean I have no power, not even mana crypt. As far as the mana goes, its working for me. I know nobody likes Mox Diamond, but it works for me. If you know Psychatog, you know it does not need power to win. Im not saying I wouldn't put it in if I had it, im just saying that I am not missing it right now. I am still crushing decks around here with this list, even fully powered ones. Aggro is obviously a little rougher, but I have a strong winning record against it.

Due to the meta in my area my deck runs 3 wastes and 1 strips and some 5 islands(B2B is crazy around here sometimes). It has no land problems and the waste/strips kill most deck around here. I would like to see more Hulk decks run stips. On another point.. Intuition is too good.  It makes my head hurt. It gives you mad draw and and sets up the kill. Hell how many times have people conceeded to you after inution #2? Quite a few for me. This is a pretty good point for 3 in the deck. Hell with all of the draw in the deck i've had people conceed at the sight of tog even when I couldn't deal lethal damage.

     I am still new to TMD so I have been hesitant to post to many good topics because of the recent turmoil here, but I just had to reply to your recent article. I liked it alot, but I wish you would have gone in to some of the more practicalities of running a tourny as in how big of a space you should get and what to expect to pay to rent it.
     
      I also agree 100% on your views on proxies and proxy tournies, but in my area there is an oddity. Most of the players who tend to oppose proxies in tournies are underpowered players. What I have been told is that they beleive that using proxies is somehow selling out. Do you think you can explain that or is it just the water up here?
     
       The last thing I wanted to get your opinion on was prizes. I understand that power should be offered up for first place, but what is your opinion on second or even third place? What about the rest of the players? Should a TournyOrganizer give out at least a pack to the rest. Or is power and some packs for 1-3 place enough?   Otherwise this was another good article by smmenen and it has gotten me fired up to do a large proxy tourny with my crew up here in northern Vermont. Hopefully the location could bring in some Canadians as well as other people from southern New England.

Hey guys. I am new to TMD and just wanted to say whats up? I saw a Mad Dragon decklist that used madness and flashback burn. Can someone post it here for disscussion or direct me to it? This deck looks pretty decent and I hope we can get more discussion on it going!
