Also, this falls between Christmas and New Years, so I'd like to put together a sweet Holiday party after this tournament is done.  What that includes? At a minimum, dinner and drinks with a great group of people.  Save the date.

17  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / [Top Deck Games] Better Late Than Never, a TO Report for October 18th on: November 22, 2014, 10:56:04 am
Hey guys, sorry for taking so long to get this posted.  As I'm sure some of you have seen, Top Deck Games has had a lot on its plate between the Eternal Weekend and GP Baltimore.  In summary, we had another great event on October 18th! We had 29 players come out to play Vintage, with Ryan Tigro finishing 2nd and Tom Dixon winning the event! There was a marked increase in Dredge decks on the day and that seemed to be a response to the lack of graveyard hate in sideboards due to its lack of play over the past year. Here is a breakdown of what decks were in the field:

Null Rod:
3 Merfolk
3 URg Delver
1 Stoneblade

Dark Ritual/Combo:
2 Storm
1 Doomsday
1 URg PyroStorm

Mana Drain:
1 Keeper
1 Control Oath
1 Turbo Tezz
2 Grixis Control
1 UW Bomberman

Bazaar of Baghdad:
6 Dredge

Mishra’s Workshop:
2 Terra Nova
4 Martello

The top 8 was as follows:
Tom Dixon(8) vs Matt Elias(1): Dixon wins
Ryan Tigro vs. Matt Murray: Tigro wins
Ryan Glackin vs. John Grudzina: Glackin wins
Evan Hundertmark vs. Nicholas Lukito: Hundertmark wins

Tom Dixon vs Evan Hundertmark: Dixon wins
Ryan Tigro vs. Ryan Glackin: Tigro wins

Tom Dixon vs. Ryan Tigro, prize split and Ryan conceded.

Congratulations to Tom Dixon, Ryan Tigro, and the rest of the top 8 competitors!

18  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / [Top Deck Games] November 22nd - Vintage for $1k in prizes! on: November 04, 2014, 12:05:49 pm
We will be running one event each month at Top Deck Games, and participating in these events will earn you points towards 1 and 2 round byes at the 2014 Winter Open (Top 4 overall points earners get 2 byes, and 5th-8th get 1 bye).  Additionally, the eight players who have earned the most points over the course of 2014 will be invited to compete in a single-elimination 8-man event at the Winter Open where the winner takes home $500 in Top Deck Games store credit.  How do you earn points?  Simple, you win matches.  Let's say you play in an event where you go 4-2 in the Swiss rounds, win in the Top 8, and lose in the Top 4.  You would earn 12 points for your Swiss performance (3 points per win, 1 point per draw, and 0 points per loss) and an additional 3 points for winning in the Top 8, for a total of 15 points!  Also, any events that Top Deck Games runs that is a "larger" event (the Summer Open, for example) will be a 2x multiplier!  Here's to more Vintage; I'm certainly looking forward to seeing everyone in 2014!

The Ninth Event!

   Date: Saturday, November 22nd 2014
   Location: Top Deck Games!
Address: 55 Haddon Ave, Haddon Township, NJ 08108

   Play Begins: 12:00 PM
   Format: Vintage
   Entry Fee: $25
   K-Value: 10-proxy unsanctioned
REL: Competitive, decklists required and penalized for errors

We all know that many Magic players have some time management issues.  To reward a random player who shows up early, at every Vintage event I run, if you register before 11:30, you will be entered into a drawing for a free booster pack!  Who doesn't like free stuff?!  Also, as always, we do allow late entries, but with a Round 1 loss.

   Prizes!
   1st: $400 Store Credit
   2nd: $200 Store Credit
   3rd: $100 Store Credit
   4th: $100 Store Credit

At Star City Games tournaments, round pairings are posted electronically via Twitter. I find this to be extremely helpful. Is there any chance that electronic postings can be made possible for Eternal Weekend? Even raw text within Card Titan's domain could work.

Yup, we post pairings to Twitter as well.  Follow @Card_Titan for that and other updates!

When do we get to see the photos of the prizes? Of the new Mox Pearl?

They're up on the Card Titan Eternal Weekend website.

As always, the scans never do the paintings justice.

Awesome!  I looked at that same page recently, and didn't see it.

Yup, I got the files from WotC yesterday, and didn't have the time to put them up until earlier today.

The original post has been updated with a hotel block that we have set up a few minutes outside the city (believe me when I say that Philly is BUSY this weekend).

Still working on it; our suggestion has been to book a room yourself, and then if we're able to get a better priced room block, cancel and re-book with us!  Either way, make sure that you're set first.

Hotel
This particular weekend is a very busy weekend in Philadelphia and because of that there weren't any downtown hotels with enough space for a room block. However, we have secured a hotel block at the Holiday Inn just outside the city in nearby Cherry Hill, NJ. For those of you familiar with Top Deck Games, this is the site we used to host the Summer Open at, with the awesome BBQ restaurant Red, Hot, and Blue in the same building. The rate is $104/night, and can be booked HERE until October 9th or whenever the block fills, whichever is first.

28  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / [Top Deck Games] Aug 17th, Vintage Champs byes and $2,000 up for grabs!!! on: August 05, 2014, 05:20:21 pm

The Seventh Event!

   Date: Sunday, August 17th 2014
   Location: Top Deck Games!
Address: 55 Haddon Ave, Haddon Township, NJ 08108

   Registration: 11:00 AM
   Play Begins: 12:00 PM
   Format: Vintage
   Entry Fee: $25
K-Value: 10-proxy unsanctioned (but a 2x multiplier towards the yearlong standings!)

   Prizes!
1st: $500 Store Credit (And a badass trophy!)
   2nd: $300 Store Credit
   3rd: $200 Store Credit
