How do you deal with early Chalice @2 post board? You only have 2 Flux and the vials. I'll play more CC1 or CC3 threats against stax. In the maindeck i'll play one more land and one less gush. You really need 2 lands in play on turn two otherwise you'll lose. Gush is an amazing spell, but to cast it you need a second land And i really want room for 2-3 sprites, they're amazing!

I don't like phanta at all: with not exactly 3 cards in hand it's usless..gigapede would be better. And if you mull down to find bazaar or you play a combination of chalice/unmask you'll have very often less than 3 cards in hand. Obviously in an ideal situation it's a great card,it can speed up nether and therapy by a turn, or help you to by-pass needle. But i prefer cards that help me when i'm in danger. Yes gigapede is green, you can use it only during upkeep (doesn't affect shadow), but you can use it with only one or two cards in hand. The # of dreggers is another issue i want to talk about: we have to maximize the number of dredgers to make our engine work. Another time...in an ideal situation we have 7 cards in hand,a bazaar and one or two dredgers. But how many times do you have to mull to 3 to find bazaar and start with no dredgers? Dredging 3 with a shambling shell in that situation is better than dredging zero with a phanta in your graveyard. Without dredgers phanta or gigapede are usless,as is a lonely myr servitor. In my build i play with 14 dredgers (ful set of troll, imp and thug plus 2 shell) and 2 gigapedes and it's extremely solid.
For reference this is my list:
4 Bazaar of Baghdad 4 Mishra's Factory 4 Petrified Field 1 Strip Mine
4 Chalice of the Void 4 Cabal Therapy 4 Unmask
4 Serum Powder 2 Dread Return 1 Dragon Breath 2 Sutured Ghoul 1 Sundering Titan 1 Simic Sky Swallower 4 Nether Shadow 4 Ichorid
4 Golgari Grave-Troll 4 Stinkweed Imp 4 Golgari Thug 2 Shambling Shell 2 Gigapede SB: 3 Underground River SB: 4 Underground Sea SB: 4 Pithing Needle SB: 4 Chain of Vapor
This is smmenen list with -1 shell -1 lotus -1 dragon's breath +2 gigapede +1 simic sky swallower In an heavy extirpate metagame i'll play the same list with -2 mishra - 2 gigapede + 4 myr servitor
I play simic over a 2nd breath to have a strong solution against decks with lot of stp,ith or stormscape apprentice. I think that 1 is the right number for breath if ghoul is not your only solution (i have titan and simic as B-plan). Simic or the second ghoul can be ancestor chosen in a combo/etw metagame. SB is really amazing.

Don't underestimate the importance of rebuild in that scenario. It could be a solid answer to null rod in a few turn and a good cycling card if opponents plays meddling. I think that scroll -----> fow is not the best play cause you're going to lose one important card in hour hand. Chain will do exactly the same,at a low cost, without losing a card in hand. Remember that afert scrolling for chain you have a unknown draw, and you can cycle your rebuild,so the percentage to see one of your 4 fow,one of your 3 mis-d,or one of your 3 left b-storm (to see 3 more cards),ore one of the other 3 merchant (to get a pitch counter) is very high,so i don't want to scroll for a counter but for a specific answer cause in the deck i only have one chain but 7 pitch counter. Against fish is a solid game plan to scroll for chain asap. You only have to play your basics/fetches, drain something stupid, bounce a permanent and go for the win (expecially if they don't go with turn 1 treat, turn 2 ninja).
Scroll for AR when you see a tundra on the table isn't safe. In this case you lose not only to fow, rod, meddling but also to mis-d. Is that a fish deck that keep an hand without at least one of those cards?! I don't think so..

Ur, in this way,if he plays null rod,you have only 2 mana in play, one of them wastable (you have to draw either fetch or basic to have drain online, but you go under daze and fow),so you probably scoop to null rod. If he plays meddling naming gifts you find yourself in topdeck-mode and with a useless drain in hand. I think that ruby merchant ----> chain is the way to go. Very important,do not play crypt to convince your opponent to daze your scroll.

I will put back recoup and vault. Than cast ruby and merchant. If he dazes, well,he's going lo lose a turn because he doesn't have cc1 treats, (and on my next turn i can cycle rebuild and cast a vault and gifts into something broken) otherwise I'll get chain of vapor and pass the turn. Now I can deal with null road or meddling on my next turn, draw a new card (or two by cycling rebuild) and play volcanic. If he doesn't have fow in hand he's going to lose quickly with such a play imho.

The difference between 3-sphere and Ancestral is huge!! While 3-sphere is strong quite only on 1st or 2nd turn,Ancestral is good in every moment of the game. The goal of most of the decks right now is to search and cast Recall asap to get advantage. In a deck like UBA,where you can't control the quality of your draws but only your quantity thanks to Bazaars, you have to concentrate on consistency and not on brokeness. If you run a "bomb" in your UBA deck, this bomb must be useful in every moment and not only on first turn. Probably if you run 3-sphere you have to side it out when your opponent starts, because a hand with a land and a mox just make 3-sphere so ridiculous and useless.

The proxies allow younger or poorer players to get to know their deck before making investments
I play and improve my decks during playtest sessions. When I play in a tournament I know exactly what to do with my deck. If I understand that a deck doesn't perform well during playtest,I simply don't buy the cards I need and I don't play the deck in a tournament.

Fortunately, Magic is a collectable card games and I think that this collectable aspect is really important for a lot of players. Here in Italy most of us try to pimp their deck using foil or beta/alpha cards, and I think that a "fake" lotus or recall steals a lot of charm to this beautiful scenario. (I don't want to talk about the economical aspect..). But it's also true that is absolutelty needed the same "starting point" for all the players to have a more balanced and competitive game. So I think that a really good thing could be a good mix between unlimited proxy tournaments and non proxy/sanctionated tournaments, to meet all players' needs (f.e: 1st and 3rd week of a month ----> non proxy tournament, 2nd and 4th week ----> unlimited/10 proxy tournament).

This is Luca Simone's last list:
4 Duress 1 Necropotence 1 Yawgmoth's Will 1 Yawgmoth's Bargain 1 Memory Jar 1 Vampiric Tutor 1 Demonic Tutor 1 Mystical Tutor 4 Dark Ritual 1 Windfall 1 Time Spiral 1 Timetwister 1 Wheel of Fortune 1 Tendrils of Agony 1 Mind's Desire 1 Rebuild 1 Cunning Wish 1 Chain of Vapor 4 Force of Will 4 Brainstorm 1 Tinker 1 Ancestral Recall 1 Time Walk 1 Black Lotus 1 Lotus Petal 1 Mana Vault 1 Sol Ring 1 Mana Crypt 1 Mox Sapphire 1 Mox Ruby 1 Mox Pearl 1 Mox Jet 1 Mox Emerald 1 Tolarian Academy 1 Library of Alexandria 1 Swamp 1 Badlands 2 Island 4 Underground Sea 1 Bloodstained Mire 4 Polluted Delta
SIDEBOARD
1 Red Elemental Blast 1 Pyroblast 1 Brainfreeze 1 Rushing River 1 Echoing Truth 1 Misdirection 2 Hurkyl's Recall 1 Rebuild 2 Hydroblast 1 Blue Elemental Blast 1 Stifle 1 Gifts Ungiven 1 Darksteel Colossus
Now i'm sure that he is considering the tps version without draw-7, but i don't know if he wants to cut red (but i don't think because he really loves wheel, reb and pyro).

Eternal Formats / Creative / More speed for my tog

We have 7 maindeck artifact with 0cc and 1 with 1cc (sol ring). A tps has 7 artifact with 0cc and 2 with 1cc (sol ring and vault). Do you think that only one artifact can make this graet difference?? I think that 8 artifact with low casting cost are enought to play tolaria. Our intent is to play hulk like a combo but with more solidity (this is why we do not cut drains and wishes..).

I tried a similar version (4color instead of 3color)in a tournament in Bologna 2 weeks ago and I maneged a 3-3 result due to 2 big play mistakes. Here is a short report of my matches:
1st round: monobrown In the first game he mull down to 5, i mull to 6 and keep an hand with 3 moxes,a land,an ak and a duress, but he starts with a first turn sphere and karn... In the second game my speed start let me win easily the game. In the third his first turn is Ancient Tomb---> defense grid, mana crypt ---> sphere of resistance. Me: land go. He: workshop----> trini. After next turn's smokstack I scoop. 1-2
2nd round: another monobrown First game: he resolves a first turn trini followed by a second or third turn tangle wire. I do not miss a landrop and I mutate his trini. Now I have permanents to tap to tangle and sacrifice to smoke so I win easily. Second game: I side in a second pernicious and, after his first turn metalworker i play a first turn pernicious that rules the game. 2-0
3rd round: dragon First game: he doesn't draw very well and I counter all his attempts to search for a bazaar. I win easily. Second game: I have the total control of the board due to 2 coffin purges sided in but I make the worst play mistake of my life and he resolves a xantid swarm that let him killing me on the next turn. I lose a win match. Third game: he has a speed start with bazaar and 2 squee and I can't find an early solution.
4th round: another dragon First game: I win at turn 4. (mox, mox, tolarian, deep on first turn with fow backup) Second game: I win at turn 3. 2-0
5th round: B/R. First game: He resolves a second turn specter but i mind twist him for 5 in my 3rd turn. I win easily keeping all the time i needed. Second game: He plays a first turn wretch but I kill him in 3 or 4 turns. 2-0
6th round: Rector Tendrils. First game: we both mull to five and I play a second turn ancestral. I win quite easily thanks to a wished purge. Second game: he keeps an horrible hand but He topdecks on the second turn and resolves orim, twister and necro. Third game: I have a great start and I mind twist him for 6 (with drain backup) ON TURN 2. He has no more cards in hand but I take 9 damages by mana crypt and 4 by double vampiric tutor (one after yag will) before destroying my own cypt. I do not draw another draw spell and I lose another won match.
As an overall conclusion I'm very satisfied about my deck who is very similar to the one posted by my dear friend gaea. In my list I had also the red as 4th colour because i need a maindeck shaman and sideboard rebs, firestorm (really really good),mutation and rack. I played with 4 maindeck intuition and more than once I resolved one in my first turn. Last note: before the tournament I playtested a lot this deck and I had great results in hulk mirror (3 maindeck deep are amazing with four intuition), other controls mirror and U/Gmadness. It worked very well also against dragon and workshop slaver. The aggro matchup is really really easy. If the opponent doesn' have counters, especially fows, we can win in 3-4 turns without too many problems.Sometimes I need a 4th wish..
