Glory over FoF.

I love drafting cards like Bosh, Urza's Rage, Inferno. Bloodfire Colossus, etc....and waiting for other people to do the dirty work...and then swooping in at the last minute for the kill.

I'd go for bribery as well...but there are alot of solid picks in this bunch.

It's "Pulse of Llanowar" -- enchantment: lands tap for any color mana

Seems pretty interesting....but the trade life for mana seems like it could lead to some pretty explosive first turns.

Yea....I forgot about the Vampire. He is probably the last pick, unless somebody wants to go for some tricky stuff.

Capsize is really good and deserving of a #1 pick.....but in games I've played it's never been used for more than 1 or 2 permanents before people wise up and it gets countered. The same with whispers of the muse.  Although after listening to everyones arguments, I agree that it is probably the number 1 pick here.
6  Vintage Community Discussion / Casual Forum / Type Four Set Review on: October 09, 2004, 11:12:48 am
I'm a castle drafter, but if I get something like Illusionary mask early...I can easily be swayed into Aggro. Similar to Triple_S...I enjoy tricky stuff. I also rarely pass up huge bombs regardless of my strategy.

Enjoyed the T4 set review. What cards you include seem to vary depending on the power of your deck. I have about 2 decks worth of t4 because the number of people I play with varies from 4-6 and if we get more, we split into 2 games.

The cards I will be adding are:

Time Stop
Gifts Ungiven
Myojin of Cleansing Fire
Myojin of Life's Web
Kokusho, the Evening Star
Keiga, the Tide Star
Nezumi Graverobber
Tatsumasa, the Dragon's Fang
Boseiju, Who Shelters All
Hinder

maybe
------------
shell of the last kappa
squelch

I voted for the lamp....but Capsize is a very close second, and I probably would take it if I hadn't drafted any big bombs or anything I really wanted to tutor for.

I would guess the last card drafted here would be Ryusei. Time stretch would be "ok" if I ever had anything on the board...but you certainly can't count on that very often in T4.

Obviously its just me...But Mindslaver rarely seems to get out for me. I chose spinal embrace over it...but I'd go w/ the slaver if I had drafted the white bringer or some other neat tricks.

I think the last pick would be clone. I have also found stifle to be "ok", as it stops some pretty powerful stuff (slaver, bosh, etc.) that almost always would kill someone.

In a format where instants are so powerful, and card advantage is so key.........fof takes the cake here.

I've never tried elemental augury or hanna, but they look interesting. I'd have to rate plaguebearer, and crush of wurms in the second tier...but still far behind fact or fiction.

For last pick.....My guess would be crimson hellkite, maybe phyrexian gargantua. BTW....Great idea on these type 4 pick polls...keep it up!
10  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Article] Matchup Analysis: Psychatog v. Goblin Charbelcher on: June 03, 2004, 10:41:59 pm
Great article. I can tell alot of work went into it. I've tested some older belcher decks quite a bit online, and agree with most of your conclusions. I'm a little surprised none of the decks listed were running duress, as I've found that to be extremely useful before going off, although it does slow the deck down somewhat.  Also....how much did the inclusion of cabal ritual help? - I haven't tried it, and run more brainstorms instead.
