1  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Sullivan Solution on: May 30, 2011, 09:00:16 am
I don't think headhunter or pilferer are strong considerations for this deck, they do not improve any of the weakest matchups (if at least discarting was random...)

After playing some games with the deck I am quite happy with current version which is very stable. I had some problems with bob damage so I cut the 2nd maindeck jace.

I really like demonic consultation in this deck, i has been golden in finding duress, fow, stifle or confidant. Maindeck edict has also proved very strong vs. inkwell leviathan and other tinker targets and also provides additional answers against MUD and fish creatures.

I wanted to have 1 dreadnought in the maindeck in case I need a quick win condition or for tutoring purposes against creature based decks. I would add another in the 3rd dimir slot if I expect lots of fish and Mud.

Yawgmoths will is a potential sideboard consideration at the moment.

//Lands (17)
6 feches
4 underground
1 island
1 swamp
4 wasteland
1 strip mine

//Artifacts (8)
5 moxes
1 lotus
1 petal
1 engineered explosives

//Creatures (11)
4 Dark confidant
3 Dimir cutpurse
3 Erayo, Soratami ascendant
1 Phyrexian dreadnought

//Counters and disruption (12)
4 Force of will
4 Stifle
4 Duress

//Tutors and restricted stuff (7)
1 Ancestral recall
1 Time walk
1 Vampiric tutor
1 Mystical tutor
1 Demonic tutor
1 Demonic consultation
1 Brainstorm

// Rest (5)
2 Hurklys recall
1 Jace, the mind sculptor
1 Diabolic Edict
1 Repeal

// Sideboard (15)
4 Steel sabotage
4 Planar void
3 Phyrexian dreadnought
2 Mental misstep
1 Dismember
1 Extirpate

I want to test non-control matches in the forthcoming days, and improve my playskill with the deck. Will come up with results
2  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Sullivan Solution on: May 25, 2011, 12:07:05 pm
Sure, I was talking about damaging the control matchup pre-side (when they already play with these cards)
3  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Sullivan Solution on: May 25, 2011, 11:37:56 am
I think the deck is more close to a fish deck than it is to MUD. For me its main advantage vs. other fish is being able to flip an Erayo on 1st turn

Dreadnoughts synergize well with the deck but could damage control matchups.

Synergize well because you widen the applications of stifle and have a clock in matchups where you need it

Damage control mathcups because it is card disadvantage and vulnerability to hurklys recall / ancient grudge that most players pack

4  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Sullivan Solution on: May 25, 2011, 11:21:51 am
I do believe that including a 3rd color would bring more problems than solutions, adding problems of inconsistency to an already light mana base.
My view is to make the deck as redundant as possible. I would only consider hypnotic as superior to dimir if I were running 3/4 dark rituals to cast them easier. That would lead to a build with tendrils, yawgmoths will, demonic tutor, necropotence and potentially hymn to tourach. I do not know if that would make the deck better.

I would not play vial in a deck with only 11 creatures (4 of them cc=3). To support vials the deck should go to a more fishy direction in my opinion. Also I have not had any problems flipping Erayo with current mana curve.

Demonic and jace seem like nice additions in the 8 slots proposed.

Having so many 4 offs and not depending on yawg will, demonic consultation could also be a nice fit (I prefer it to imperial seal)

Dreadnoughts synergize well with the deck but could damage control matchups. I would include them in the sideboard against fish, dredge and MUD for the moment.

Here are the two proposals:

//8 slots (Option 1)
2 Jaces
2 Hurkly's recall
1 Repeal
1 Demonic tutor
1 Sensei's diving top
1 Vendillion clique / Stifle (for sideboard dreadnoughts primarily) / Thoughtseize / Demonic consultation / Sower of temptation

//9 slots (Option 2)
(swapping 4 dimirs for 3 hypnotics)
3 Dark ritual
2 Hurkly's recall
1 Yawgmoths will
1 Demonic tutor
1 Tendrils of agony
1 Necropotence

Also for the sideboard I have thought something along these lines:
//Sideboard
4 Steel sabotage
4 Planar void
3 Phyrexian dreadnought
2 Mental missted (to protect against ReBs, duress and creature removal)
1 Extirpate
1 Energy flux (??) / sower of temptation
5  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Sullivan Solution on: May 24, 2011, 08:57:37 am
I have been trying to play fish for some months, after trying some different builds (UR, URB, UGB, etc., I felt that the raw power of these decks was insufficient. Toying around with confidant-based builds an old deck came to my mind.

The deck is Sullivan Solution which was played circa 2006. I am sure it needs some modifications from its original form especially for the MUD and oath matchup but against gush decks I thinks it has a favourable matchup

I would start off with what I think is the skeleton of the deck:

//Lands (17)
6 feches
4 underground
1 island
1 swamp
4 wasteland
1 strip mine

//Artifacts (8)
5 moxes
1 lotus
1 petal
1 engineered explosives

//Creatures (11)
4 Dark confidant
4 Dimir cutpurse
3 Erayo, Soratami Ascendant

//Counters and disruption (11)
4 Force of will
3 Stifle
2 Duress
2 Thoughtseize

//Others and restricted stuff (5)
1 Ancestral recall
1 Time walk
1 Vampiric tutor
1 Mystical tutor
1 Brainstorm

That leaves 8 open slots for discussion. There are many candidates for filling up these slots, probably 2 hurkly's recalls, 2 repeals and 1 top would be on top of them.

During my initial testing I encountered difficulties with trygon predators and other X/3 blockers of dimir cutpurses, brown decks seem also difficult to beat pre-board. Do you guys think dimir cutpurses are viable nowadays?

On the other hand, Erayo has proven to be amazing for me, especially coupled with wastelands and stifles to limit mana development. I think the card has some serious potential and has not been played very much.

I would welcome any inputs from anyone who has been familiar with the deck on how could we do to revamp it.

6  Eternal Formats / Null Rod Based Aggro / Re: U/R Fish!!! on: April 12, 2011, 05:13:19 pm
Props for bringing back an old favorite

My biggest concern when playing posted lists is not having enough faeires for spellstutter to counter 2cc in early game. Critical plays like turn 2 dark confidant, oath, meddling mage/Qsali or even spheres. This shold be addressed somehow IMO. Cloud of faeries could be an option and maybe zephyr sprite should be considered depending on your mana curve (other blue 1cc creatures are neither good in my opinion).This will partially help the lack of hard counters in mid game in case that an opponents breaks standstill with tinker or will.

Those issues are the most aggravating from my point of view when compared to old gay fish lists which in my opinion capitalized tempo better.

Once those issues are solved standstill could be played moren aggressively targeting second turn and sage of epityr could be considered in that case to increase likehood of that standstill.

I still see the alternative casting cost of daze appealing in a deck that wants to tap out every turn, I have never liked stifle (too many times sitted in my hand with no use). Steel sabotage is a clear 2-of against MUD and tinker and lightning bolt fits the deck nicely.

Do you guys think that the existence ninja makes curiosity unplayable?, I agree that it takes 4 additional spaces but sometimes curiosity on 2nd turn coupled with a 1cc counterspell/utility could make all the difference...

I would like to play 1 waterfront bouncer and 1 vendilion clique in my next build, will let you know.

Congrats Steve!

Shouldn't volcanic island go to the side in exchange for 1 basic island?
9  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Fresh Fish: Fish Variants on: November 07, 2008, 02:36:25 pm
I used to play Mark Perez's version of UR gay red in the past. I am missing in David Besso's version some lavamancers, for me that was absolutely the best creature in the deck.

Recently I have been testing with fishy decks and I wonder what do you think about Cold-Eyed Salkie. I think is a pretty good creature for a merfolk deck and if anyone is successful combining it with unstable mutation it can net you 4 cards straight away (lord of Atlantis also gives it +1/+1)

I believe that Riptide Pilferer is also very nice...Let me know your thoughts!
10  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: [Premium Article] Psychatog in 2008 on: March 01, 2008, 03:51:46 pm
The decks is quite good against MUD style decks, but I have to agree with kobefan that sometimes it floods against not workshop decks. Gorilla shaman and 1 basic island may go from the maindeck.
In sideboard I think that a darkblast/fire ice is needed to get rid of confidant or welders and to side in in 2nd games. Also with the raising popularity of oath maybe naturalize should also be added. Why is this great deck not seeing any play?
11  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: [Premium Article] Psychatog in 2008 on: February 02, 2008, 05:27:30 pm
We had plenty of time left for me to win two more games. I sideboarded in Artifact Mutation, Rack and Ruin, and two Pithing Needles. I left Oxidize and Firestorm in my board as Wish targets

Wouldn´t be more appropiate to side in the oxidize and leave the rack and ruin as a wish target?. At the end of the day all you want is to survive the first few turns and then rack and ruin 2 of his artifacts for the win, I would say that maindeck oxidize serves better that purpose.

Also what would you take out for the 4th wish. I am thinking on cutting mystical, I dont want to go below 2 duress. I was skeptical about the basic swamp but it has proven to be golden and clearly deserves a spot.

Congratulations for the great work in one of my favorites archeotypes
12  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: [Deck Discussion] 4-Gush GroATog on: June 04, 2007, 03:12:12 am

1) One Tog is enough; there's no such thing as Sligh or Sui-black to deal with anymore, so we don't need as many creatures. Vs. Flash and Long, Tog is nearly irrelevant as we are the control deck and the longer the game goes, the better off we are (we run more draw). 4 Dryads are more than enough.

I can't see the point in not running more togs. If tog is obsolete then dryad is even more, at least tog is pitchable against those combo decks you are talking about besides, it is good against stax because it kills faster. What advanteges has dryad over tog, in what matchups are they better?
13  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: [Deck Discussion] 4-Gush GroATog on: June 03, 2007, 05:14:13 am
I agree on cunning wish, I will play 1 to get berserk more constantly or none.

Imperial seal doest seem so obvious too me, I would prefer more consistency than having fastbond all the time. Fastbond on its own doesn't win the game always, it does with yawgmoths will so the primary goal is not to find fastbond. Futhermore, running 3 card disadvantage tutors (Vampiric, mystical and seal) can weaken your matchups against control and combo.... Sincelery I would side it out all the time. Consultation seems more interesting for me.

Library efectiveness is dependant on how much you play the control role. I am not going to sit on library in the first 3 turns since my spells are mostly 1cc/2cc and many of them are sorceries and creatures, besides, I think that the lone island is needed.

What do you think about the bouncers maindeck? Are they needed at all? More than 1?

EDIT: Maybe it is possible to remove the 4 dryads to have a more stable mana base, include more drawers and the 4th tog. This can improve our combo and stax matchup, ichorid stays the same and I don't think there would be any change against control.
14  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: [Deck Discussion] 4-Gush GroATog on: June 03, 2007, 04:12:43 am
I have been playing UBG Gat decks these days and some slots in the maindeck for me are non-negotiable, they are:

19 Mana sources

*I am not using library at the moment, I prefer having a basic island if I am facing wasteland.dec plus library does not help me to play duress or dryad 1st turn. Is library so good in this deck?
*I would not play more than 4 moxes, 5 makes the deck a little unstable

4Quirion dryad
3Tog

*For me this is the optimal creature base, less than 3 togs makes you less aggresive. You can side 1 out if you play the control role after board

4Fow
3Misdi
4Duress

*Duress are needed against combo right now and more than 3 Misdi is too much.

4Merchant
4Brainstorm
4Gush

*The core of the deck

1Fastbond
1Regrowth
1Yawgmoth's Will
1Time Walk
1Ancestral Recall
1Demonic Tutor
1Vampiric Tutor
1Mystical Tutor

=That leaves us with 3 open slots. For me if you are playing 3 togs you should be adding a berserk main also. The other 2 slots I am not sure yet about them

1Berserk
2Any combination of Night's whisper/Echoing truth/Cunning wish/Gits/Mana drain/Imperial seal

*Is maindeck bounce needed at all? You are going to loose the first game against Ichorid and stax 95% of the time

Sideboard should consist of 4 leylines and 2/3 energy fluxes. I am been testing with disrupts in the side and they have worked fine, what do you guys think about them?

@Zeus: I agree with you, if you don't play red then cunning has not good targets (except bererk) and then mana drain is not as good. The problem I see in beating stax its that I don't think you will win even playing 3 wishes and red, the mathcup is really awful so it might be better to concentrate in beating other decks.

EtW seems bad to me it is difficult to get to 4 manas in this deck and even more having played some spells before if you want to do that at least you should add repeals.

16  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: top 4 Game Universe, WI: WITH TOG on: June 22, 2006, 04:41:21 pm
Congratulations for your performance. I found your deck interesting but after playing tog for quite a long time I would like to ask you some questions:

1)Why are you not playing 1 bounce maindeck?, 2 cunning wishes seem to be a not very fast answer to opponents tinkers, chain of vapor would also help in the storm count
2)I am missing mana crypt in your build, was it too much damage with bobs?
3)I think tolarian is maybe out of place with only 5 mox+lotus, if I am not running solring and crypt I will no play it
4)Have you consider darkblast main against bobs, welders and fish?
5)I like bobs but not as a maindeck solution, I think merchats are just more versatile (maybe in a more tog oriented version like Joshua Frankelin at gen con) and better stopping fast combo

-What are your worse matchups? I think that the new dragon is a pain in the ass. How is the deck doing against stax?
17  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Darktog -a new way to view- on: May 23, 2006, 08:25:00 am
3) A drawing engine with intuition, ak and deeps is too slow to compete, merchant and ak have great sisynergynd protects you against early threads so theres no point in not running them.

What are you talking about? Thats pretty much the BEST draw engine in the format, only reason that intu/AK dosnt get played more, is because it takes up so much deck-space.

/Zeus

I do agree that intu/ak is one of the best draw engines in the format but only with at least 3 merchant scrolls. I criticising the engine with ak and deep analysis and no merchant
18  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Darktog -a new way to view- on: May 22, 2006, 05:44:24 pm
From my point of view your build even having a stronger mana base, has some weak points which make it worse than t1t or hulk:

1) Cunning wish without red is a mediocre card. Hideous Laughter is worse than firestorm and much more mana intensive, you don´t have rack and ruin or shatering pulse and you will miss ReB and maybe fling too if you go on with 2 togs.

2) Your deck doesn´t have a fast way to race aggro. Old tog decks had berserk which make 4-5 turn kills possible, italian togs had fling which is sometimes as good as berserk, gifts and t1t can just tinker (or tendrils) with counter on hand and win easily. You only have two togs without any pumping spell or even merchant scroll for gush. Tinker is specially good in a deck like this with fast access to mystical via cunning wish

3) A drawing engine with intuition, ak and deeps is too slow to compete, merchant and ak have great sisynergynd protects you against early threads so theres no point in not running them.

Appart form that I think frantic search is a win-more card and cephalid coliseum is too situational.

This deck is going to have big problems against workshop/fish decks because of the points discussed here
19  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: T1T Vs Gifts ungiven control on: June 08, 2005, 04:14:37 am
@MaxxMatt:
I am having a tournament next week and I think I will play tog, The list is pretty standard as posted above but how many duress/deeps/cunning do you use to play? I have 4duress/3deeps/3wishes but I am not sure if Its the right move

After playing gifts against a wide variety of control decks I don´t see the reason not to play 2 or 3 skeletals at least in a competitive environment. They are definitely much stronger than the thirsts in the middle-late game.

Anyways I see the match against oath as a big problem for the deck so I am considering a few changes in the maindeck, what do you think of this match?
20  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: T1T Vs Gifts ungiven control on: June 04, 2005, 02:26:09 pm
@Deathisforyou:
Gifts is a combo enabler and fact or fiction is part of the draw engine, you use gift for the combo when you reach 7 mana. Before you have facts, thirst and skeletals to gain card advantage and mana acceleration
@Discussion about furnaces:
I don´t know any other metagame card which is good in so many matchups, and you have enough draw engine so what are you going to use in these slots?(Mana severance + charbelcher and/or big attifacts are usually dead draws). Post lists if able
@Toad:
How does you sideboard/maindeck looks like currently, I have never like kavus, they are only good against shitty aggro and Im not sure about their utility against fish.
@Intuition and gifts:
Tog has the same acceleration than gifts unless you use non permanent mana acceleration like petal or mana vault, so normally intuition will be played a turn earlier, if you have another list with vault petal or rituals that can change but that means you will lose card advantage against control
21  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: T1T Vs Gifts ungiven control on: June 03, 2005, 02:09:28 pm
Thanks for our help, I am playing gifts right now making some changes to the maindeck from the first list posted:
-1 Vampiric tutor
+1 Snow covered island
+1 Skeletal scrying (I don´t know why the original list have 59, bad editing)

I removed vampiric because is a card I don't want to see in the control mirrors especially now running 2 skeletals, Rico was right about the mana base so I added another island

Skeletal scrying is huge, much better than thirst now I am playing 2 of each and I think It is right. The fact that i can remove artifacts from the graveyard is very important against control slaver and drawing more cards and being antiReb are also important features. This time I am with Toad

The sideboard is full of 1´s because of gifts and the chainer´s edict slot will change depending of the metagame, last time I played it was an spawning pit/goblin bombardement (I don´t know which one is better, maybe bombardement)  because oath was very prominent, it can be a tsabo´s web if bazaars are prominent or even a coffin purge

Now my biggest problem is sideboarding, against tog I am doing something like
-3 Furnaces (they are good but 3 rebs are better in most situations)
-1 Gifts/thirst (I don´t know what to side out)
+3 Reb and pyroblasts
+1 Duress
Against slaver i have no clue at all, can be
-1 Gifts
-2 Thirst for knowledge
-1 Mana crypt (??)
-1 Furnace/burning wish (:S)
+3 Reb/pyro
+1 Gorilla shaman
+1 Duress
And against oath:
-3 Furnaces
-1 Gifts
+1 Duress
+2 ReB/pyro
+1 Goblin bombardement
Maybe rack and ruin too if its chalice oath

I wonder what are your thoughts about this matchup
I read Smmenen say that gifts colossus variant is one of the true weaknesses of tog (with fish). Despite agreeing with the statement about fish, I am not agree about gifts colossus being one of the true weaknesses of tog. I have tested the matchup during 3 days and the results were 50-50 more or less. For reference here are the decklists I played:

T1T:

4 Underground Sea
3 Volcanic Island
3 Island
2 Polluted Delta
3 Flooded Strand
7 Solomoxen
1 Library of Alexandria

4 Force of Will
4 Mana Drain
4 Accumulated Knowledge
3 Deep analysis
3 Intuition
4 Brainstorm
3 Cunning Wish
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Walk
1 Tinker
1 Darksteel Colossus
1 Psychatog
1 Engineered Explosives
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Yawgmoth's Will
4 Duress

SIDEBOARD:
1 Fling
1 Firestorm
1 Lava Dart
1 Stifle
1 Mystical tutor
1 Shattering Pulse
2 Rack and Ruin
1 Rushing River
1 Fact or Fiction
2 Pyroblast
2 Red Elemental Blast
1 Misdirection

Gifts ungiven control:
Artifacts
3 Phyrexian Furnace
8 Solomoxencrypt

Artifact Creatures
1 Darksteel Colossus

Instants
1 Ancestral Recall
4 Brainstorm
4 Force Of Will
3 Gifts Ungiven
4 Mana Drain
1 Mystical Tutor
1 Skeletal scrying
2 Thirst For Knowledge
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Fact or fiction

Sorceries
1 Burning Wish
1 Demonic Tutor
3 Duress
1 Recoup
1 Time Walk
1 Tinker
1 Yawgmoth's Will

Basic Lands
2 Island
1 Snow-covered Island

Lands
2 Flooded Strand
2 Polluted Delta
4 Underground Sea
3 Volcanic Island

Legendary Lands
1 Boseiju, Who Shelters All
1 Tolarian Academy

Sideboard:
1 Mind twist
1 Engineered explosives
1 Gorilla Shaman
1 Blue Elemental Blast
1 Pyroblast
1 Rack And Ruin
2 Red Elemental Blast
1 Chainer's Edict
1 Cranial Extraction
1 Duress
1 Primitive Justice
1 Pyroclasm
1 Lava dart
1 Tendrils Of Agony

Out of 17 games Tog won 10, 2 games were won due to first turn library and in the rest duress and deeps were golden. I only feel gifts deck to be strinctly superior in the topdecking game when a resolved gifts ruins you the game. But surprisely tog has more draw and more answers to the threats.
Tog strenghts: more flexible maindeck, more answers in form of cunning wish, less dead draws and full set of ReB in the side
Gifts strenghts: more broken spells, can win from nothing and boseiju

EDIT: the gifts deck only had 1 skeletal and I forgot crypt
23  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: [Milan - 29/05/05] - Results - T1-Togs kill all on: May 31, 2005, 02:46:26 pm
Berserk is only needed to trample over creatures, only if there are blockers it is superior to fling. Consequently it was used to race aggro and win before them, now with tinker this is not an issue anymore since colossus tramples itself and it is easier to race aggro with him and you don´t need card advantage.

The other useful green card are artifact mutation and ground seal. I don´t feel furnace to be very inferior to ground seal if you are running graveyad hate (I don´t know if it´s worth). Artifact mutation is very good against big artifacts and it´s a secoundary kill condition against these decks but shatering pulse with 5 mana on table is usually game against normal stacks/MUD/uba mask/workshop aggro build, anyways i found artifact mutation to be the best card that green can offer if you run tinker-colossus maindeck but overal I would cut green
24  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Discussion on the optimal Gifts Deck on: May 14, 2005, 02:25:44 pm
I have played both versions of gifts decks and I am liking Toads list more. Maybe because I am facing some aggro decks and colossus is usually game, althought i think it has a weaker game against workshop decks like stax if they can play their lock components early, this is a matchup when welders are really helpful.
I played a small shop tournament yesterday and i faced ur landstill, meandeck tendrils, tps and slight and win almost everygame quite easily. I lost against control slaver first game due to misplays and second due to tinker targeting sundering titan with boseiju in play.
I had problems sideboarding against intuition slavery I would thank if any of you can tell me what is your sideboard plan. I did something like this (list and sideboard are almost equal to Carl´s list):
-1 Darksteel colossus
-1 Gifts ungiven
-1 Burning wish
-1 Fact or fiction
+1 Pyroblast
+1 Red elemental blast
+1 Lava dart
+1 Duress

Any thoughts?

Quote
In an envrionment of Oath, TPS, and CS-you should have 4 REBs and a Pyroblast. That will give you 7 effective blasts post board (+3 REB, Pyro and the 3 wishes).

I think that a configuration of 4 duress + 3 ReB in side is enough, maybe 4 in side but 5 is too much and weakens my matchups again stax, non TPS combo, cerebral assasin and random decks.

4 Duress configurations and library have not much sinergy so i won´t be playing library and gush is only good as a win more card. Consequently, i have 1 slot not decided could be mind twist/mystical tutor/ even skeletal scrying or the 3rd DA. Sometimes i feel i need more draw in the middle/late game game. I would like to heard suggestions about this.

I must confess I am a bit worry against first round decks like r/g beats, slight or fish but at the same time I want to be prepared for the tier1 so I can´t play tinker maindeck for example, this is the reason why I am playing with 3 togs

My last sideboard look like:
 Sideboard
SB: 1 Engineered Explosives (I feel very safe playing 2 against oath)
SB: 2 Red Elemental Blast
SB: 1 Rack and Ruin (Since trinisphere restrinction 2 are not longer needed)
SB: 1 Berserk
SB: 1 Fact or Fiction
SB: 1 Rushing River
SB: 1 Stifle (It is very good against combo)
SB: 1 Artifact Mutation
SB: 1 Pyroblast
SB: 1 Firestorm
SB: 2 Ground Seal (a lot of CS/Dragon and CA in my area)
SB: 1 Lava Dart
SB: 1 Annul/Arcane lab/Red Elemental blast (not really sure)

I have been testing tog for some time. I started one year ago with italian versions (UBr tog) and now I´m trying with green. I found that berserk is very important if you want to beat random decks which I think are tog´s worst matchups. Tog is my favorite deck without any doubt, it´s funny and broken at the same time.My lastest version is quite similar in main deck to the one that ended 6th in Chicago SCG tourney a year ago. The list is as it follows:

4CTOG:
// Mana:
    3 Underground Sea
    3 Volcanic Island
    1 Tropical Island
    1 Swamp
    3 Island
    4 Polluted Delta
    1 Flooded Strand
    1 Mox Sapphire
    1 Mana Crypt
    1 Black Lotus
    1 Mox Emerald
    1 Mox Jet
    1 Mox Pearl
    1 Mox Ruby

// Creatures:
    3 Psychatog

// Draw and search:
    1 Ancestral Recall
    1 Gush
    2 Deep Analysis
    1 Demonic Tutor
    3 Intuition
    3 Cunning Wish
    4 Accumulated Knowledge
    4 Brainstorm

//Counter and disrupt:
    4 Duress
    4 Force of Will
    4 Mana Drain

//Broken
    1 Yawgmoth's Will
    1 Time Walk

//Metagame:
    1 Engineered Explosives

// Sideboard
SB: 1 Engineered Explosives
SB: 1 Coffin Purge (?? is needed?)
SB: 2 Red Elemental Blast
SB: 2 Rack and Ruin
SB: 1 Berserk
SB: 1 Fact or Fiction
SB: 1 Lava Dart
SB: 1 Rushing River
SB: 1 Stifle (comno)
SB: 1 Artifact Mutation/shatering pulse
SB: 1 Pyroblast
SB: 2 [open slots] Maybe something against fish (worst opponent/combo

I have removed mind twist and library from the maindeck, Im sure its broken sometimes but most of the time its a useless card in hand. My first turn plan is duress so library is not my game plan. I run 4 duress to make the combo mathcup easier. Gush maindeck gives the speed needed sometimes to beat aggro, the other slots are quite regular in latest tog builds. Mana crypt has proved to be superior than sol ring, it gives you sped and enable first turn intuitions and second turn DA

Im playing the manabase with 1 tropical and 1 swamp. I found 1 tropical to be enough to kill with berserk but i don´t know if the lone swamp is needed and maybe the 4th underground sea give me more consistency casting mana drain

I would like to receive some information from players with experience with the deck as well as changes to optimize the deck and the sideboard or testing results

The UBr versions run actually 1 hurklys recall in ther sideborads but I haven´t seen any build with flametongue kavu in the side, Im not saying its a bad choice but theres not much space for him. I would play obligatory:
2 Rack and ruin
1 Fling
2 Red elemental blast
1 Fact of fiction
1 Gush
1 Snuff out
1 Firestorm
1 Shatering pulse (really amazing!!)
So you have 5 slots for explosives, hurkly´s recall, misdirection, stifle, rushing river, Fire/ice, Blue elemental blast and maybe vampiric

You cant play 4 duress, 4 mana leak, 4 mana drain and 4 fow, mana leak are good because they can be played in turn 1 with a moxe but theres not much sinergy with duress. I would chose duress because It is easier to cast and lets me choose.

When I am facing workshops decks I only want to remove their trinispheres and maybe tangle wires, crucibles are not a big issue, you can build a very stable mana base and answer them later with cunnings for R&R

I´m very happy with the italian T1Tog, my version with 4 cunning/4duress wins more against workshop than ever, i think It´s indeed a favorable matchup thanks to rack and ruin´s card advantage. In addition control decks are extremely easy to beat (except maybe oath and slavery).
The strongest part of the deck is side configuration, it has answers for everything, against welder I simply prefer snuff out over lava dart, it kills welders fastly and can deal with exalted angels or ophidians
Another card to consider in the red spalsh is firestorm, It´s god against fish or shitty aggro
I am considering playing 1 morphling in the sideboard against grave/tog hate. i have lost some games to tormods and only 2 togs can be a weak choice sometimes
I have also not tested too much the combo mathcup, how it is?
I would thank if JACO or somebody who has paytested the deck could tell me the result of his games, how they side and special choices in the maindeck/sideboard
I am still a little bit surprised with the sarcatog issue, but WTF he won.., I wouldn´t choose him over tog in any matchup but he is one of the best italian players so i suposse he would have some reasons

I do not understand why are you running LoA in a deck with 4 duress it does not seem very optimal, first turn duress shoul be your game plan, library does not fit well here
Is it worth to play green only for 1 berserk side? Wouldn´t fling be more consistent and not much slower
Have you thought about playing the 4th wish? I believe it is great against welder and workshop decks as a quick answer against trinisphere, welder or tangle wire
