1  Archives / Tournament Announcement Forum / [Tournament] 28-10-2006. Valencia, Spain. 8 Black Lotus and more... on: August 30, 2006, 07:55:31 am
http://www.demonio69.com/8_lotos/info2.htm

                                                  1 Tournament: 8 Lotuses

On Satudarday 28th of October, there will a super type 1 tournament in the luxurious Nh Center Hotel in Valencia, placed in the Ricardo Micó street, nº1, next to the Bus Station. For more information, keep reading.

More than 8000€ in prizes will be given among the 16 first placed players, distributed this way:

    * 1st-8th: Each player will win 1 Unlimited Black Lotus.
    * 9th-12th : Each player will win 2 Italian Mana Drain.
    * 13th-16th: Each player will win 1 Italian Mana Drain.

The formato of the tournament will be Type 1 (Eternal) with a maximum of 10 proxies allowed per player You can check which cards are banned or restricted in the following link: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=judge/resources/sfrvintage

The proxies will have to include the name of the card and the playing cost (if it’s an spell). In the moment that you deliver the list of your deck, show the proxies to the organizers, so they will be able to check if they are valid. Photocopies won’t be allowed, as they make cards heavier, so they could be considered illegal. If you have any doubt during any game about the text or rules of a proxie or any other card, just ask one of the judges.

The participation fee will be 50€, which can be paid in the tournament or before, making a bank transfer to the account number 0182-0509-85-0201540886, (IBAN ES08 0182 0509 8502 0154 0886), BBVA bank, with Vedast Sanxis as the checking account holder. Don’t forget to specify your full name.

The tournament structure will be 8 to 10 swiss rounds of 50 minutes each. The number of rounds will depend on the quantity of players. There won’t be top 8, as each of the first placed players gets the same prize. We do that to ensure that each of the 8 players with better results get a great prize, as it is a Black Lotus. It makes that the best players get a good reward, instead of offering an structure with high differences between a position and another, as you can see in other events, the “ptq’s” for example.
As the Black Lotuses will have condition differences, we’ll do a sort of draft with the 8 cards: the player that finished first in the tournament will be the first in choosing his card, the second will be the next, and so on. Each player will have a maximum of 2 minutes to choose their “pick”.

The tournament will follow a rules level 3, and there will be 4 level 1 judges.
There will be side events, with a minimum of 8 players in each one. Different registration fees and formats, including drafts of editions and languages very difficult to see nowadays, as Korean Tempest or Japanese Urza’s Legacy. The prizes will depend on the participation fees. For example, we’ll be able to organize a 8-people tournament, 100€ each player, with an Unlimited Black Lotus first prize.

Satellites will be placed around Spain, with a participation fee of 10€, in which the winners will get a paid seat and 2 byes for the 50€ event.
In Valencia you will be able to participate in the shops Gremio de Dragones and Camelot.
In Puerto de Sagunto (Valencia), in Neotem Ciber.
In Málaga, Ángel Macías will be the organizar of these events.
In Albacete, Ramón Sánchez will organize satellites.
In Madrid, César Fernández, from Arte 9.
We are negotiating with other Spanish shops, so we’ll add more cities to the list very soon.
In Italy, in Piacenza, the shop Future City will organize satellites too.
These tournaments can be of various formats and placed in different dates.
Each of these organizers will count with 5 packs of 2 byes to share in the satellites that they organize. When all the byes have been given, there’ll be only paid seats prizes. We do it to limit the number of players with byes.
For more information about the satellites, contact with the shops and people aforementioned.

3  Archives / Tournament Announcement Forum / SIDE EVENT VINTAGE. GRAND PRIX BILBAO on: September 28, 2005, 12:36:21 am
We are trying to prepare a  type 1 side event for the Bilbao GP, which, as you know, will take place on 19th and 20th of November and whose format will be Extended.

This side event will take place on Sunday, the 20th and it will begin at 12:00.
We have sent an e-mail to Devir (Spanish MTG official Distributor) so as to inform them of our intentions. If 50 players attend to this event, and bearing in mind that the price of the event is about 12 Euro, prizes would be like follows:

1º Mox Ruby Unlimited
2º Baazar Of Baghdad
3º Mana Drain (English)
4º A 40-50€ card (Berserk, Nether void...)
5º-8º Dual lands, booster packs or similar...
1º Classified without pack: An Italian Mana Drain.

This account has been created for pre-inscriptions gpbilbaot1se@terra.es
and to see the possible success of the tournament. Those who are only playing GP should also think about make the pre-inscription in case they get bad results in their GP Swiss rounds. Please also inform if you are playing or not GP.
Moreover, the more people play this S.E., the better prizes we will provide. We can give you better cards if we have more money.

What do you think about this?
We accept any ideas, just let us know.

Greetings!!

4  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Discussion] Stax now-a-days on: March 31, 2005, 01:56:21 pm
have you tested orb of dreams insted of sphere resistance. the effect of this card is amazing in workshop decks, while you cast smokestack and other artifacts your oponent only plays a spell for turn. this is an amazing advantage for you in decks as can be stax, W- Slavery (i have tested it in this deck in the side, when you eliminate mindslaver and other some cards for 4 copies of orb of dreams and Bosh, iron Golem) welder mud, 5/3... try it
5  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / my version on: January 11, 2005, 01:28:39 pm
hi, until i saw this deck in this forums i had been worked in it for some time. i had made a lot of versions but the last is the best. very agressive as i like be it.

tinker surprise juzam2 1.5

// Lands
1 Tolarian Academy
4 Mishra's Workshop
3 Flooded Strand
3 Island
2 Shivan Reef
4 Volcanic Island
// Creatures
4 juggernaut
4 Su-Chi
1 Sundering Titan
1 Triskelion
4 Goblin Welder
// the deck
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Emerald
1 Black Lotus
1 Mana Vault
1 Mana Crypt
1 Sol Ring
1 Tinker
4 Transmute Artifact
2 Fire // Ice
1 Timetwister
4 Thirst for Knowledge
4 Brainstorm
2 Gilded Lotus
1 Memory Jar
1 Ancestral Recall

as you can say i included four copies of juggernaut to make very agressive deck. the oponent have a lot of creatures to kill and can't kill all. one reason for i have put juggernauts is su-chi + transmute artifact. you can start playing a su- chi, attack with it, sacrifice with a transmute artifact and play 2 creatures (juggernaut & su-chi for example)
