I actually got the Cage/Wastelands/Counters package idea from Rich Shay, independent of the fact that I'm sure it's been done before since Cage came out. I also remember Chris Materewicz beat me twice in 2010 when I was on Dredge by using Rav Traps in Noble Fish... he always had two, and I always refused to believe his last card was a second Trap.
I used 4 Ravenous Traps in my first place build of the deck, and the first build where it was legal, in 2009: http://morphling.de/printview.php?c=1157&d=1Otherwise, very nice report, and I am honored to be mentioned as a starting point for one of the format's best deck designers. I think you both missed the point I was trying to make. I realize that ravenous trap has been used long before, the first time I was trapped was by Jeremy Beaver in testing back in 2010. I was simply saying as there are MANY options for people to side against dredge (Cage, Surgical, Leyline, Trap, Wheel of Sun and Moon, Crypt, Relic, etc.) and it was observant of you to shift back to traps which were barely being used in previous tournaments. Thanks to popularity of "Cagebreaker Dredge" people have mainly been using ignot chewers and nature's claims instead of leyline of santitcy or just in general playing around trap. I was very unprepared to deal with trap so was quite surprised when you had it. I was simply pointing out an observation not credit for who originally used traps.

You guys might thank that Shops are the dark side, but you're wrong. That title definitely belongs to Bazaars. And no, I haven't gone over to the dark side of the force.
I'd much rather they restrict Workshop than Bazaar. It's certainly more fun to blow out people with hate cards than to discard a card every turn as I eat 5-15. The control player hates Workshop and the Workshop player hates Dredge. What a shock. They really should start banning Islands...

Congrats Nick on the win! Meta is really diverse right now. Loving the Dark Rituals in the T8.
3 espresso stax in the top 5 is diverse? 3 espresso stax 2 snapcaster-bob 1 gush 1 landstill 1 tendrils or to break it down more... 3 artifact prison 4 blue counter weenies 1 black tendrils No dredge, no oath, no noblefish, no goblins/elves, no bomberman, no hint of red/white/green as main colors. Yeah, smells like diverse vintage to me. beat me to it. computer froze up while typing but yeah, what TheWhiteDragon said. I hate to let the cat out of the bag, but New York is kinda know for being shop heavy. And saying that gro, landstill, and snapcaster/bob is the same deck is pretty funny. I was going to say the same thing. NY is very shops heavy while I feel PA is much more blue heavy. Especially since you take blue out of context to just "blue counter weenies", Gro and Standstill are two very different decks. I am upset there was no dredge in T8 but still cool to see shops back on the rise after a lot of creatures recently. Once again congrats Nick.

Well I have some good news and some bad news.
First the good news: Dear Mr. Nicholas Detwiler, I will be attending this event, along with Mr Shawn Anthony and Mr Josh Potucek.
And now the bad news(for everyone else attending): Shawn Anthony and myself built a deck to break the format.
Also I know Rob Edwards and Anthony Scalzo were looking for rides, I have 1 Seat left in my car. Whoever gets in contact with me first is more than welcome to come along. You would have to meet at my place though, which is just west of King of Prussia. You can PM me and I will give you my number/address/etc.
While this is a really nice offer Allen, I have no car or way to get to King of Prussia and Scranton is approximately 2 hours away. Thanks for the offer but I have no way of getting that far.
