I can vouch for Gush needing hate in the opener to beat Dredge, having gambled on an otherwise decent looking 7 and lost.
One other silver lining is that this list has is a more robust Gush engine that closes out the game faster once you drop an early hate piece and creatures that provide an increasing clock. I've played other slower Gush control decks and durdled long enough for a skilled Dredge player with enough anti-hate to draw into it and beat me.

Deathrite is generally far, far too slow to answer the rate at which you will fill your yard and run out creatures. And 2-for-1ing yourself to deal with it is even worse. I would concentrate your efforts on fighting the more common hate cards that are much more devastating.
Note: I'm not a fan of pitching to Unmask either but it's a necessary evil.

My Vintage cards don't leave the house unless it's specifically for a Vintage event. I also only carry a maximum of 3-4 other legacy/modern decks with me + a trade binder at any time. The rest plus my deckbuilding binders all stay at home unless it's a special occasion (e.g. they can travel to Gen Con but stay in the hotel).
Kind of sucks being limited but traveling light makes it easier to keep track of all my stuff and it's a measure that reduces risk to an acceptable level for me.

First off, sorry for your loss OP.
With the growing concern of theft at major events and a couple close calls with my cards, I specifically asked my renter's insurance provider if my collection was covered completely under my policy. Even though my other possessions are covered completely, there were loss limits on certain categories of items. I was told my cards would be considered under philatelic items (i.e. stamp collections) and that the loss limit was $1,000. They did offer additional coverage, but trading cards weren't considered a coverable category (although stamp collections were, for some reason).
Not liking the answers I was hearing, I went with a company that specializes in collectibles. I found at least two of them that specifically covered trading cards: American Collectors Insurance and Collectibles Insurance Services. The premium from either for $20k of coverage was ~$120 a year and well worth the additional peace of mind. No appraisal required, but they did require photo proof of any single item over a certain limit. American Collectors also has an online interface that lets me upload inventories and photos for collection tracking which I found to be useful.
Hope everything works out for you in the end. For everyone else, I recommend you specifically ask your insurance company if your cards are covered and for how much.

Yup, that's why I linked to the page with the podcast and TOC on it. I think the section with the counterspell discussions talked about the various applications of Misstep and Flusterstrorm and was therefore relevant to the DDay deck as well. It's still a little more work than just reading a primer but worth the effort since the insights apply to almost any Vintage deck.
Question for Stephen: I noticed the full set of Trygon Predators in your list. What do you think of the Predators in light of Brian Demar's article that mentions shops have adapted to them? Just the best answer available for for what is probably your hardest matchup?

@Smmenen: Could you say a few words about the disruption package? It seems like you get to resolve whatever, whenever you want. Was there any point where you felt like it was overkill? Thanks!
Smmenen doesn't always offer up a lot of free tech but if you dig through the podcast he did after he debuted the deck at Waterbury last October, there is a lot of talk about options for countermagic in Vintage which covers why the disruption package is so effective. There is also a very basic primer covering certain basic DDay piles for those who are unfamiliar with the deck. It's about 1:15 long but it worth the listen and sometimes you gotta work for the free tech. http://www.mtgcast.com/?p=21171Edit: Forgot the link.
