What about 3 MD energy flux over null rod?

The way I understood the point of null rod was to serve as mana denial by shutting off moxen and other broken artifact accelerators.  E-flux does the same thing because it makes them pay to keep their moxen, which is obviously not worth it.  It also has the bonus of making all their other artifacts have an upkeep cost.

Null Rod shuts down combo's moxes completely, while as energy flux only effects the moxen, sol rings, etc, during the upkeep. Combo can just hold its moxen until it's ready to go off and proceed to win, which isn't an issue if you use null rod.

I also just don't agree with skullclamp, it just seems subpar and goes against the overall fish strategy.

I probably shouldn't be posting as I have no real experiance with this deck, but...
How do you do vs an early 5/3 or 4/4?
Is 5/3 considered to be a decent matchup for you?
Have you considered putting Energy Flux into the board?
Sorry for the bad questions, just wondering =]
3  Eternal Formats / Creative / Budget Belcher on: October 17, 2004, 11:46:27 pm
Unfortunately, Budget Belcher just seems way to slow to keep up with most decks. You really thrive on your moxen because you run only 2 lands, not to mention timetwister, which is just insane in this deck.

My teams current belcher build runs living wish with tolarian academy in the sideboard, but you don't have the moxen to support this. I don't really know what to suggest to help this deck out. But if you're dedicated to this, then I would suggest a living wish build with more of a utility sideboard that runs "sex monkeys" to take care of those pesky null rods, or trinospheres which just completely wreck this deck.

I'm really happy with the way the tournament turned out, despite the few amount of people.
This is Ryan the "NADNESS" player =]

Going into this thing I didn't originally expect to play, so I was happy when chris let me use his RUG  Madness deck.
Looking back on the tournament, I think a straight U/G madness build with maindeck force and logic would have been alot better because of all the dragon that there was.
I'de write a report, but most of the games involve me drawing well and swinging with big creatures.

Beating the monoblue with the propaganda/back to basics lock was my "play of the day"
Hopefully we can get the type 1 scene in colorado to explode
