Hi,

This is my first real thought out post I've made. So please cut me some slack.

With the high amounts of Control Slaver and Stax in the current T1 environment, I'm thinking its time to get a deck out that will most likely beat those decks.

I'm talking about Oshawa Stompy or Survival Stompy

I think this is one of the best choices because its hard to hate out like Dragon. But also because it puts on the beats like you've never experienced before.

I'll give reasoning for each card that could be in the deck.

First off your Broken stuff

Then we have Creatures for the basic madness outlet
4 Arrogant Wurm
4 Wild Mongrel
4 Squee Goblin Nabob

Then we have the tools to take on different decks
3 Null Rod
4 Root Maze
3 Naturalize
4 Survival of the Fittest

Then the manabase which would include

I think it might look like a pile of jank but it probably is a very good deck choice to start working on and improving.

Here are the explanations of each
Survivals are there to search for your creatures you need.
Lavamancers are here with bolts to take out welders and weenies.
ESG are here because of trinisphere, but if 3Sphere gets banned it might be changed.

I haven't started testing yet, but I need help with the deck and getting it ready for testing.

SB options include
Isao, Enlightened Bushi vs MonoU, Oath, Control Slaver, Tog
Troll Ascetic maybe vs Stax and Slaver
Chalice of the Void vs FCG, Stax, and weenie decks
Rack and Ruin maybe vs Stax and Weldermud
Tormod's Crypt vs Dragon
Fire/Ice or Artifact Mutation against Welder, Slaver, Stax, Weenie
Those are just some of the options I think that betrayers has some interesting cards to offer.

Like Isao, enlightened bushi which can't be countered and can take on  stax and other decks with creatures, which an inclusion of blue he would be good with wonder.

Iwamori seems pretty good in the current environment, where you can play a big trampler guy and stand up to a lot of the metagame.

All and All I think this deck has what it needs to do well in this upcoming P9 season at SCG. I might play this in Richmond in May at the next P9 tournament, but I need help from people with this deck idea.

Will it work, only editing and testing will tell.

Please don't shut this post down, I'm just asking for opinions on the deck and what I should change.

The changes also depend on the metagame after b/r announcements.

Also with the addition of blue, we would have access to Wonder, FOW, some other stuff like Stifle, BEB, B2B, stuff like that.

Hey, everyone I agree with Thissa in some ways, but I think turning this deck into more of a control deck would be better. I think that meddling mage is definately worth playing and using, exalted angel is good too. I like the idea of isochron's scepter in this deck, but it depends on if the deck stays fish or becomes scepter control.

Isochron's Scepter has good interaction with Swords to Plowshares, Fire//Ice, Orim's Chant, and maybe even counterspell. Even though the null rods are there, I think we should move them to the SB, because their will be more Oath this season.

I also see pristine angel as a possible win condition in the SB along with a cunning wish based SB including null rods. I think Pristine would be a good card against control, and oath. I do think cunning wish deserves a chance, because of its effectiveness in extended and possibly now T1. Brainstorms would be a good inclusion also along with them I would add intuitions so you can fetch what you need. Maybe adding AKs isn't a bad idea either.

Creature wise there should be 2-3 Exalted angels as the main win condition, and 4 meddling mage for control. Also the kami of law isn't a bad choice, because it helps against certain decks and serves as a blocker.

I've been thinking about a reincarnation of "The Rock" in T1. So far the idea has been boggling my mind ever since I saw a lot of the spoiler for Kamigawa.

The main cards that could bring this deck to the tier 1 or tier 2 spot would be cranial extraction. I think that CE can be abused quite easily, and with all the control and workshop decks running around it could be a viable deck. In addition to those archtypes, it seems like Oath is going to be good again, which would be another reason why the deck would work.
