What is your opinion of the Blue Angels deck?
I've been running Kohler's list to some success and played it against Mike Egan's Blue Angels list up at a New York Win-a-Mox. In the "mirror" its kind of a push. Mike and I split matches in the swiss and top 8. Resto is very effective at winning Jace wars. Salvagers combined with cavern of souls was a huge trump in the matches I won. Which card is better, depends on the metagame. Restoration angel is great against BUG and other fair creature decks, dodging most of their removal, protecting other creatures from removal, being big/evasive, etc. Its better against shops where Salvagers is typically sided out. Its atrocious against baleful strix if that's a significant part of your metagame. Salvagers gives you a means of closing out the game quickly, especially with cavern of souls. There are games in which I was incredibly behind on the board and the combo was the only way I could win. I appreciate the informative response. I have been selling most of my "blue" vintage collection lately, except the cards necessary to play UW Bomberman/Blue Angels. I have always played a Dark Confidant control deck or some sort of Gush list, but I have become very bored of them over the last couple years. I guess I am looking for some opinions on UW Bomberman/Blue Angels decks before calling it quits with Blue.

I know that I may be resurrecting this thread, but is UW Bomberman still a viable deck? I have seen a couple of Esper lists pop up here and there, but what happened to the awesome results that the UW lists were putting up? Are there changes that need to be made in order for the UW version to shine again? Any thoughts?

I have to agree with what a few others have said about pictures and videos in a tournament report. Pictures are a must for me. They help breathe some life into a tournament report. Even better would be some videos of important matches, even if they are just videos of the top 8.

I have been running Myr Battlesphere instead of BSC in my Grixis deck for the last two months. The meta usually consists of Fish, Shops, and an assortment of blue decks including Esper Bomberman. I felt like Blightsteel Colossus was a liability in the deck, and Myr Battlesphere fixed a lot of the problems I was having. Battlesphere was great against both Smokestack and Tangle Wire, and the game was interesting and interactive when copied by Phyrexian Metamorph. The four extra 1/1's were sweet against Fish, providing support against a hoard of creatures. It was even great in the face of Jace, the Mind Sculptor, and hurts way less when flipped to Dark Confidant. I feel like Myr Battlesphere is a better choice at the moment, but to each their own!

My favorite Vintage playable card would have to be Time Walk. It was my first piece of power, and it was a gift from my parents.
The other cards that fit into my top 5 Vintage playable cards would have to be Gush, Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Dark Confidant, and Time Vault in no particular order.

We finally had our first Vintage event in southern Louisiana with 7 players in attendance! Unfortunately more people did not show up due to the holiday festivities and short notice, but hopefully next time we will have at least 8! We decided to play 6 rounds with a top 2 playoff. The Metagame Breakdown: 2 Grixis Control 1 Dredge (Fatesticher) 1 Esper Bomberman 1 Noble Fish (Shardless Agent) 1 Mono Red Shops 1 East Coast Wins The top 2 playoff was split by East Coast Wins and Esper Bomberman. I apologize for not having everyone's deck lists. For future events I will ask for the lists. Here are some pictures from the event! RisingWater also has a few more! A special thanks to RisingWater for getting this event together

Sounds great man! That place is great. If they are too crowded for some reason, there is another card shop/comic book store right across the street with some tables.
This is extremely exciting! Are you guys going on Saturday or Sunday, and do you have any particular time in mind?
I really appreciate the info. Thanks!

This sounds sweet! I have not heard back from you, but I understand that you are busy. I was wondering where you guys might be getting together to play? I am going to be free next weekend, and I would love to play some vintage, and I am sure that my brother would be interested in going as well! I would really appreciate it man, and I look forward to getting a vintage scene going in Louisiana.

I want it! My kitchen tables magic days were filled with Goblins, Elves, and Dragons. I had an Onslaught goblin precon deck that I upgraded with Goblin King and Goblin Grenade. I also had a green/red dragon deck with 4 Elvish Piper's and what ever big dragons were laying around. After Mirrodin released, I had a deck with Platinum Angel, Lightning Greaves, and Mindslaver. Those were the days!

Wow! Amazing playmat Greg! Prospero, love the scene on that mat. Greg did an insanely amazing job on that too. I made this one a long time ago(nothing too amazing), but I messed it up when inking it in with the wrong type of colored markers. I just recently picked up a blank purple playmat, and I am still trying to figure out what to draw on it.
