4  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: TT Confident (a.k.a. The Perfect Pile) on: February 06, 2006, 09:36:49 pm
Playing with three sensei's divining tops are much better than playing with two because it gives you a greater advantage in using the confidant.

....

Now we need lists.

Before everyone clammors for lists, it usually takes Ray a good 1/2 week to a week to get the top 16 lists up because he has a lot of misc TD stuff to do and wrap up, in addition to his actual job. Ray always posts everything, just give him time.
He is usually good about getting the decklists up fast be patient!
9  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: 25th Place at Waterbury. on: October 16, 2005, 11:51:18 am
Yes good finish! if I ever finished that high at waterbury I would go crazy! Do you have any idea what you played against in round 8?
10  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: The real Dragon power;) on: October 16, 2005, 11:44:14 am
Yes I agree that red is not a need to a good dragon deck, but the green is needed-- I think that xantid swarms are key in this deck because you definetly need to protect you combo. When I used to play dragon I would almost always make sure that I had a swarm on the table before I would go for the win- it is to risky without it. Another key card that green uses is crop rotation, bazaar needs to get out fast for a quick win. Last off, you may want to run 1 more animate spell to make sure that you have enough.

Good Job on beating me in top 8 dave and nice report. If only I casted that bargain second turn.....
13  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: RectorTop - An attempt to create consistency in Rector on: May 01, 2005, 04:39:42 pm
I think a transformational sideboard could also work in this deck, like a Rector Trix.
14  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: TPS vs Control Slaver on: May 01, 2005, 04:35:05 pm
Engineered Plague.
  VERY TRUE!
15  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: Waterbury Updates on: May 01, 2005, 03:55:49 pm
So I guess it is true that zheng won waterbury last april also, along with this one this year. I left when he was playing in his top 8 match and he was getting owned pretty bad by oath salvagers, with the other person he was facing getting a first turn win. He must have made a comeback.
16  Eternal Formats / Creative / flame retardant on: April 04, 2005, 01:09:35 pm
O my god. Why the hell would you run three colors in TPS. You  would need two turns to get out your volcanic island and underground sea- and this deck sucks without the underground sea. This would also need you to get out two fetches by turn two to even get a second turn win. TPS is supposed to go off turn 1 or two, maybe even three but, overall relying on your fetchlands and getting godly draws is not the way to play TPS.
17  Eternal Formats / Creative / Blessing of Leeches on: February 09, 2005, 07:23:03 pm
This card is from the new set Betrayers of Kamigawa. I was wondering if anyone else noticed this but this may have some infinite abilities to go with it. For one the card's mana cost is 2B. This is somewhat cheap for type one combo. Its wording: Enchant Creature: "You may play Blessing of Leeches any time you may play an instant.""At the beginning of your upkeep you loose one life."" 0: Regenerate enchant creature."BINGO!!! infinite triskelion! Triskelion pings it's oponent twice and pings itself once.(Triskelion comes into play with four +1/+1 counters on it, Remove a counter from Triskelion: Triskelion deals one damage to target creature or player)Questions? Comments?
18  Eternal Formats / Creative / masknought on: January 31, 2005, 07:35:34 pm
I never actually understood the combo between phrexian dreadnought and illusionary mask could someone please inform me!!!!Thanks

Illusionary Mask
2
Artifact
X: Put a creature card with converted mana cost X or less from your hand into play face down as a 0/1 creature. Put X mask counters on that creature. Play this ability only any time you could play a sorcery. The creature's controller may turn the creature face up any time he or she could play an instant by removing all mask counters from it. This effect ends if the creature is turned face up. A,B,U-R [Legal in Vin.] (Oracle Version Date: January 22, 2005. See http://gatherer.wizards.com/)

Phyrexian Dreadnought
1
Artifact Creature
12/12
Trample
If Phyrexian Dreadnought would come into play, sacrifice any number of creatures with total power 12 or greater instead. If you do, put Phyrexian Dreadnought into play. If you don't, put it into its owner's graveyard. MI-R [Legal in Vin, Leg.] (Oracle Version Date: January 22, 2005. See http://gatherer.wizards.com/)

Mask lets you pay 1 to put the dreadnought into play facedown, avoiding the 'nought's drawback. You can then flip the 12/12 without any sacrifices.

However, you could have asked this in the rules forum, or used the search function to see if it's explained elsewhere. Warning for spam.

19  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Portal Control on: January 26, 2005, 06:49:18 pm
I dont know maybe its just me but I am having a problem with running drains and bazaars in the same deck. It is an exellent idea and probably took alot of thought but they just dont fit in  the same deck together.

Maybe you could try running circular logics especially with this deck, would give you exellent draw and cheap counterspell.
20  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / 4 gifts ungiven in tps on: January 26, 2005, 06:42:42 pm
I dont think gush would be necessary at all in this deck considering it takes two turns to activate plus two islands...ouch!!!
21  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / meandeck tendrils on: January 24, 2005, 08:39:17 pm
Just goldfishing with this deck i had some(or I should say alot) of problems with spoils of the vault. This card is key to getting the win but most of the time it is pure luck. I mean if your fishing for a ritual that has four copies then your pretty much set but that lotus is tempting...This calls on if you are a good mtg player or not also.
22  Eternal Formats / Creative / disruption in combo on: January 24, 2005, 08:28:57 pm
Carl, don't you think that the forces in tps a re somewhat of a security so your oponent does not cast a first turn 3sphere? I mean in recent post you were telling us about in multiple matches trinispheres and other decks that play cards exactly like that where you needed an answer and  it makes your deck that much better and then you go off next turn.
23  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Portal Control on: January 23, 2005, 10:19:54 pm
Your hand will be screwed by discarding it to the Bgahdad. You cannot put Bazaars in a control deck.
24  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / last place report on: January 23, 2005, 06:27:30 pm
Can you actually be happy about this other than getter the three boosters?
25  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Portal Control on: January 23, 2005, 05:38:01 pm

I like the idea alot actually, portal is a truly abusive card.  Except for one thing, the double blue requirement with bazaars is totally hard to manage.

Thanks for the clarifacation.
26  Eternal Formats / Creative / Budget Doomsday on: January 23, 2005, 04:54:17 pm
Meandeck Doomsdeck used the FoW, Duress's, and Unmask's to protect their spells, without them this deck is flat-they are a need.
27  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Portal Control on: January 23, 2005, 04:37:04 pm
With bazaar of Baghdad and control you totally fucked up your mana base, plus !draw! with portal?? I dont think this deck will work to well with these standards.
28  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / What do you feel the best MTG card is? on: January 23, 2005, 03:08:44 pm
