1  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / Re: Depot Power Eight Vintage Tournament & Sunday Mox Event - 6/15-6/16 on: February 25, 2013, 09:40:25 pm
I guess I'll throw my name to be first on the waiting list (Phillip Bergeman).

To be honest.... New to vintage players have done well at my events.... Out of the 12 events I ran... I believe 3 were all first vintage tournament winners. Hope you make it, and good luck.

And to think I was only 1 match away from becoming the fourth rookie-winner.  Unfortunately, I'll have to try and catch the next TPG event, as I have a prior engagement tomorrow (so no Robocats for me!).  Good luck to everybody that does attend, though.

Greetings, everyone!  My name is Phillip Bergeman (the rookie shops guy who took 2nd over this past weekend at Bloomsburg).  I currently live in Jersey Shore, PA, and am a certified K-12 Music teacher (and soon to also have certification in 7-12 Math).

I've been playing mtg off and on since Ice Age, taking a major hiatus from Kamigawa until Lorwyn blocks for college.  I've mostly played Standard and Legacy competitively, with Vintage being more of a casual thing (due to an extreme lack of Vintage staples).  I've decided it might be time to change that, and so my friends from the local group that I usually play with suggested that this is the place to start if I want to get better at Vintage.  So I hope to have some lively discussions about the format, and continue to learn about the different nuances that make this format what it is.
