Welcome to type 1! I would suugest checking out "nassifs eba" in the vintage open form as it is the same colours as your deck. Some critisms 1) Include a 4 Swords to plowshares because we are in a meta polluted with creatures. 2) I'd cut mana leak and add 4 counterspell as they are better in late game than mana leak 3) Cut annul in the board for coffin purge or snuff out 4) RUN YAWGMOTH'S WILL THIS IS AUTO INCLUDED IN ANY DECK RUNNING BLACK. 5) if you play in a 5 proxies tournament include black lotus
Good luck

Idealy I would have 7 SoLoMox But I don't own Moxen and everyone I know with them is using them. So I came up with this manabase. I will try all suggestions as I test so keep them coming.
Thanks Matt

Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / [Discussion] Adapting Tog to win in this metagame.

I play green over red. Why? Because I find in my metagame that Oath and control slaver are played a lot. I have won matches because I have resolved a ground seal against control slaver and beat him down with my tog. The sideboarded naturalize complements the 4 duress against Oath, as well as Chalice for 2 can also pose problems. There are some Dragon and combo decks around, most of which I have a bad first game but proceed to smash them in the second and third via ground seal or chalice. I am going to the first tourney with it today so I can see how it does. By the way I have also killed stax by playing a ground seal, them sacking all of their pernaments and I naturalizing and smashing with a Tog. Also I have found the sideboarded night of the souls betrayal to own fish, killing all of their creatures (baring factories)

Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Do you Test Type One on a Regular Basis?
|
on: December 08, 2004, 10:58:07 pm
|
I find that all I play (bar drafting and sealed) is type 1. However, there are many instances that I would not call "testing". On the whole I do the majority of playtesting about a week or so before the tournament. This has now increased as a friend of mine cannot play in our regular tournament because he drafts, so we play serious games with sideboarding all the time
