Well....If it needs a bit of a power boost.
Reignition 1R Enchantment Reignition cannot be countered. If a spell that would deal damage to a creature or player is countered, reignition deals half that spell's damage to target creature or player, and you draw a card.
Any better?

Reignition 1R Enchantment If a spell that would deal damage to a creature or player is countered, you may choose to have it deal half that damage, rounded down, to that creature or player.
A little fun for burn decks against counter, which i have always been annoyed at  . With a cost of 1R decks can get it out before counterspell if they go first.

This is not the old card i posted earlier today, this is a new one suggested in that thread.
Exhaustive Effort 1UU Instant You may skip your next turn instead of paying Exhaustive Effort's mana cost. Counter target spell.
OR
Another possible version:
Exhaustive Effort U Instant Counter target spell. Skip your next turn. You may choose to untap an island you control.
The second is more restrictive, but it helps more in its certain situation. Which do you think is a better card idea, if either?

Suicidal Effort UB Instant You may play Suicidal Effort without playing its mana cost. If you do, you lose the game during your next end-of-turn step. Counter target spell.
A last ditch prevention technique for combo decks. It's risky, but it could keep your combo alive.
Updated version, with flavor text:
Suicidal Effort UB Instant You may play Suicidal effort without paying its mana cost. If you do, you lose the game at the end of your turn. Counter target spell. He was determined to see his plan through, even at the cost of his own life.

Secluded Temple Land During your upkeep, you may choose to skip your draw step this turn. T: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool. Play this ability only if you skippied your draw step this turn.
I've always liked lands that produce any color of mana, but some of them just have too big drawbacks for me. I think this one might work, but it might be too easy to abuse for decks that try to make people deck themselves, or decks that penalize drawing. Is this unbalanced?
