Oath up a mox monkey is NOT a clever idea  Wink
2  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Perche Italia on: October 12, 2005, 12:41:15 pm
How about the fact that, unlike the languages you mentioned, it's a hoarse and ugly language?

I totally agree. It is, like our country, a language close to the dirt  , and it doesn't "feels" clean when I see it on a card..
As mentioned before, it just doesn't sounds right. Dus ik speel mijn Vogels uit het paradijs en rust het uit met een zwaard van licht en schaduw  Confused
3  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Jungle Lion Stompy {G/W} on: September 24, 2005, 02:48:52 pm
That list plays Root maze, which sucks with your own fetchlands, and suppresion field, which owns fetchlands.
4  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: [Deck] Blue Balls FTL (built for SCG Richmond) on: September 21, 2005, 09:22:12 am
nice idea  Smile , but it seems to me this deck could use an alternative win condition.
maybe one colossus main for Tinker? Seeing how much mana this deck can produce, I can even see it being hardcasted + time walk in the same turn. Any thoughts?
5  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: September 1st B&R announcement on: September 05, 2005, 01:48:28 am
what about Exalted angel, as mentioned before  Wink
6  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: It's time to have a Serious Discussion about Proxies Again on: September 01, 2005, 08:59:01 am
Interesting....I've heard something about a new Fat Pack
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/askwizards/0905
Quote
"As for your question, the Ravnica fat pack will be even juicier than the already amazing Ninth Edition fat pack. Like the Ninth Edition fat pack, the Ravnica fat pack will feature a player's guide, two card boxes with original artwork, a fat pack sleeve that converts into a mini-poster, six plastic dividers, six booster packs, a 40-card land pack, and a special Ravnica-themed lifecounter.
....
"In addition to the novel, the fat pack will have a super secret promo card in it. I could tell you all about it, but all will be revealed soon..."

Anyone seeing any deck with Mind over Matter? I don't think something broken will happen, so they've made the right choice  Smile
On 4x FoF: ..................... no comment  Wink
8  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Gencon report on SCG on: August 26, 2005, 01:25:50 am
"omg he just ran in"  Very Happy
congratz to T4.
9  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: U\W Fish in the Current Meta on: August 23, 2005, 03:12:14 am
@ Anusien; He doesn't play Chalices main OR sideĀ  Wink
That doesn't seems good to me: with just Kataki around, they can still use their moxen once, to go broken, or just pay for themselves, so that they can be used later as a tinker or welder target.
I agree with Anusien, you should play 4 aether vials. They're just broken.

EDIT: My wrong, he does mention them SB, but I seriously doubt that is enough, because EVERY deck plays moxen, so why not put them main?
10  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Wizards of the Coast...Do they actually test their own game??? on: August 20, 2005, 05:59:08 am
Honestly, I think Wizards has done a good job with printing these. Does anyone sees a negative effect of these cards?
I also think that Ravnica is going to be one of the best T2 series ever. Lots of good cards, without being overpowered. And you van crack open boosters, with a reasonable chance to make serious profit /get really playable cards  Very Happy
11  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: vintage White Weenie on: August 13, 2005, 10:53:06 am
-1 kittie (or another 1 mana creature)
+1 Isamaru Hound of Konda
it beats fish harder  Wink
isn't 4 angel a little overdone?
12  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: (Deck/Report) David Copperfield wins some pimp Taigas on: August 12, 2005, 09:11:29 am
why not play Aether spellbomb in the echoing truth slot? It's fetchable with A. Intuition, and it's never dead.
congratz with the win.
13  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Why I Won't be Playing Mono Blue This Year at Gencon on: August 12, 2005, 05:59:19 am
why not play a hate-type sort of U/W fish? With javelineers, swords and seals of cleansing, you'd have at least a chance to beat welder.dec. Seal of cleansing is becoming more and more attractive to me, with a reason  Wink
14  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: This is amazing guys... on: August 11, 2005, 02:40:59 pm
It is.
I've seen the page before, but this is the first time I see that it is a Vintage Championship  Surprised
I'd like to see a vintage report a la  the GP and PT's on Mtg.com  Very Happy
15  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: It's time to have a Serious Discussion about Proxies Again on: July 08, 2005, 05:15:16 am
I see that the discussion has (for a part) moved from "do we allow proxies, and in what numbers?" to "I hate proxies that are just scribbled land cards"
Isn't it easy to go to a good proxy shop and let them make good proxy's? So that they look like something as the Collector's Edition? It might cost a bit, but I think it would make sure there is no time loss

tnx for the great read!
17  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Worse Than Fish 3.0 on: July 02, 2005, 07:04:22 am
I was wondering what would be the best way to play with jitte? You want to have some counters on it to kill nasty welders etc, but you want to kill your oppo also as soon as possible.
could anyone please explain the best way to me?
18  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: [Premium Article] Meandeck Gifts on: July 01, 2005, 01:15:57 pm
I think Loa is better in a more controllish version of gifts, and not in this sort of combo gifts. Too slow, wastable, , not giving blue, etc.
maybe SB, but i wouldn't play it maindeck.
19  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Kird Ape Wins Library. Lmao. Lol. Rofl. on: June 30, 2005, 05:48:08 am
nice report, fun to read  Razz

To Dave Feinstein!   Very Happy

nice report, nice prize Smile
21  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: [Article] Vintage Grab Bag on: June 29, 2005, 03:40:24 am
nice  Smile
However, I think TPS is still viable, and worthy looking at.
22  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Meandeck Gifts on: June 27, 2005, 03:34:22 pm
I like how this is a control deck who's draw engine is "Ancestral Recall."  I oughta enjoy this.

hadn't looked at it that way, but you're correct. Think we might see a lot of this  Very Happy
congratz at another MeanDeck !
23  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Meandeck Gifts on: June 27, 2005, 01:46:44 pm
yeah, I must say, It still looks very strange to me  Wink
but I see the logic behind the deck, and I think it works just fine, as you say.
what about the mirror? Your opponent then has duress, but you're a lot more aggressive, how will that work out?

Alban
24  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Need to Increase the Threat Density of RB Deck on: June 24, 2005, 04:41:47 am
I really wouldn't cut the wretches. They are gamewinning in a lot of matchups; they almost eliminate an will, wreck dragon and welder. IMO they're one of the best black creatures in the game nowadays.
25  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: R/G beats discussion on: June 18, 2005, 12:16:52 pm
just an idea for the draw engine...skullclamp?
26  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Black Fish on: June 10, 2005, 04:17:50 pm
two things:
-should this deck run a Yawgmoth's will?
- the oath matchup can be improved by a decent sideboard, let's say some edicts.
what should the exact build of the sb?
maybe Sui isn't dead after all  Very Happy
27  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Worse Than Fish 3.0 on: June 10, 2005, 04:09:43 pm
I've followed this discussion for a while, but can't keep up with all the changes you discuss.
So here's my question: could somebody post the most recent list?
thanks,
Alban
28  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: SCG Daily: Concept Deck, Take Two with Budget Black Green Oath!! on: June 03, 2005, 08:55:52 am
I would cut Rorix for a Woodripper.

@smmenen:
what would be your idea of the sideboard?
29  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Single Card Discussion: Erayo, Soratami Ascendant on: May 20, 2005, 09:32:11 am
you had to restyle the deck, for the fish decks that now are played rarely ever play 3-4 spells a turn. Wink
30  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: Waterbury Day 2 report and Carl vs Tap coverage on: May 06, 2005, 03:46:41 pm
.  That, and Pyroblast does not come in beta, and as such is not as pretty.  :p

lol...pimping al the way  Wink
