I must say this has some potential.  I played about 5 games with it so far, and I've killed on turn 3 twice (once with Timewalk).  This deck makes an incredible amount of mana and draws similarly to tendrils based combo decks.  The Artificer's Intuition is impressive, I'm surprised it hasn't been abused yet.  I have to agree with the faeries being the right choice, in the simple fact that they allow you to make colored mana.  The deck has an amazing feeling of damned if you do, damned if you don't for the opponent, especially with a resolved DotV.  I'm curious as to what the answer to null rod is, but I can at least say the ravager isn't always needed to win.  Also, the list above has 59 cards.  Steve, I'm curious why you avoided tinker-dsc in this?

Post more testing: I haven't won a game where they got mox monkey out.  Mad

I find this archetype really odd to port to legacy, but it apparently is decent being that Barcelona is usually slightly competitive.  I have a few questions about the deck.  Being that some of the quantites of cards look odd, what did you base your choices on?  It seems to me that other than having a lack of turn one plays barring a petal is really weak, have you tried adding chrome moxes and maybe switching brainstorm to impulse.  I'm wondering how your mana base treated you, for future sight's (and intuiton-ak engine)'s casting costs, 18 lands is really low.  Lastly, I understand you just wanted to try something for fun, but did this deck actually feel like a fluke at winning?  I'm gonna build something similar and see how I do, anyone else think this could become solidarity consistant?
3  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Questions on Goblins, FCG, and Goblin King's place in FCG with errata on: July 15, 2005, 11:57:46 am
The new change in Goblin King does add utility to both types of decks, but I do not believe it is worthy for type 1.  It might be useful as a one of in the sideboard to help versus hosers like
Pyroclasm/Engineered Plague, but I feel it's still too slow.  In FCG, you either combo out and win or you go for straight beatdown, in either case an extra point of damage is irrelevant when piledriver is the deck's saving grace.  As of right now vial goblins is still largely unexplored in type 1, but in my limited testing it is capable of keeping up with stax even sans Chalices.  In my opinion, the King's new clothes  will only affect extended and legacy where blocking is more important.
