instead of mental note/portent slot you can try frantic search and careful study. they put as much cards in the grave as mental note, but you can control which cards go in to the grave. only bad thing about study is that it is a sorcery, but so is portent.

Isn't it better to play the scroll sb? and boarding it in vs aggro. True believer is an option, but the ww casting cost is maybe to much. And Mesmeric fiend is better then castigate if you can keep them into play, you can play it with ritual and it has a body. Maybe you can play duress+mesmeric fiend+castigate?

The balance is maybe a bit random, i put it in because its always a really powerfull card and will always helps at a time to win a game. the 3 kataki, 4 chalice, 3 null rod strategy is probably more important for consistency in artifact hating. i think would do something like this from my original list: -1 Balance -4 Suppression Field +1 Kataki, Wage War +4 Chalice i don't think you should cut Samurai, they are really powerfull against grave manipulation. I don't know if the mana base works, but that can be changed any time. probably for a stp, disenchant or castigate.
But my main question is what do you think about a WWb? Is this list better then a WW or WWu? Is this the direction WW must go to?

The only thing I have to say about your build is Suppresion Field and fetches = wastes/strip is not good synergy. Chances are you are tapping out every turn casting threats so you won't have 2 or more mana to activate you lands which hurts you.
i forgot  . really annoying with the suppression field that you can't play fetches and strips, that's makes him unplayable. maybe something like AEther vial + chalice instead of the fields and null rods and a other slot.

For a time now i was looking for a way to improve my ww. Mono WW i always trying to play with the disrupt/controlish creatures( believer, curtain, kataki) and without a lot of low mana high power(savannah lions, isamaru,razor golem), but its just not enough. So i looked what could i splash. red and green are not the right colors for the aggro/control kind. So i of course tryed blue mainly because of meddling mage and draw with standstill, but i couldn't run fow because of the low number of blue cards and i didn't like to run 4 mana leak or 4 daze.
When i looked for black what i could splash of course duress and Mesmeric Fiend is a nice creature, and with guildpact giving castigate and ravnica dark confidant you got 2 nice cards for running black. With confidant you get a card draw on a stick, which ww always missed. With Mesmeric Fiend, Castigate, Duress you got some nice hand disruption spells, and 2 of them are rfg and all try you may chose.

I brainstormed about this deck tonight and made some changes. maybe i removed to many mana producers, haven't tested it yet. The main change is getting kobolds in instead of the elves, the elves only produced mana to clamp itself or other elves when i played it. I put in 2 festering goblin because i didn't know what to get out of it for the other 2 Also the krosan reclamation makes the deck a lot better because you now can just mill your deck and get y will back instead of the need of having will of regrowth in your hand. I dropped the rituals from 8 to 6 because they aren't really needed for the storm anymore(only if you don't get a druid and get the kill without it), now they are only for tendrills and will in one turn with only needing 1 black mana. I also dropped a tendrills because the second one is almost every times useless. It also needs to get ride off things like mage and chalice, maybe it needs blue for chain of vapor.

I made a hermit druid deck a couple of weeks ago for some casual t1 play. I don't have power but wanted to do a y will tendrill's kill so i thought of just playing a lot of rituals and some free stuff like unmask and petal/crypt.
main plan: play hermit druid, next turn mill your deck then play yawgmoth's will, play 8 other spells and tendrill's for the kill.
when y will is counter your most of the times screwed unless you have a regrowth, i though of maybe splashing blue for counters, relearn and mystical or splashing red for reb and recoup but i don't got the right duals for it. I also see i forgot about using Krosan Reclamation as extra regrowth. I also sometimes got the tendrill's kill without using the hermit through lots of rituals and using y will to play them again.

we have a different gameplan but maybe you get some ideas from my list. the deck is very fun to play, y will your deck is just so kewl :lol:.
