9 players for this impromptu Mini Vintage event I've decided to make regular alongside our local FNM. It was a fun field with a few regulars, a monster player and two brand new vintage players! Good times were had by all with a few interesting brews being piloted. I apologize that there are no deck lists.
1. James Trentini - Naya Bears (no sideboard) 2. Luis ? - Bob Gush Control 3. Joe Mckellar - Burning Long
Metagame: 2 Burning Long 1 Bob Gush 1 Noble Fish 1 5c Wizards 1 Naya Bears 1 UW Counterbalance 1 Rogue Druid 1 BOBO combo! (Borborygmos/Griselbrand/Goryo's Vengeance)
Only 3 got 'paid', but everyone seemed to have a great time! Hopefully, we can keep the Friday events going in between our monthly scheduled events!

We started at 5pm on Saturday night as opposed to our normal 2pm start time. Honestly, I didn't think we were going to get as many players as we did since the last one only had 10. I rallied for a 5rd swiss, but the shop closes at 9pm on saturdays and the owners opted for a 4 round top 4 cut.
It wasn't ideal, but everyone still had a good time and everyone played every round except one player who had to leave early and myself. I dropped so there wouldn't be a BYE in the fourth round. I typically play 50 or so games a week of vintage and I really wanted to let the players who don't play much (if at all) be able to play all rounds.
I have yet to implement to Play/Draw rule in the untimed rounds. Honestly, it's mostly because I constantly forget that the rule even exists. No one has said anything about disliking the old 'roll for it' rule so, I may just keep it that way for now. Im not necessarily opposed to the new rule though either, though I'm not sure the impact it has on Vintage as opposed to other formats. With Shops (and now Burning Long) being so good on the play, I'm not sure how the players would feel about it.
Our events are mostly casual and we've introduced a decent amount of people into the format. Interestingly, most of these players are also fairly successful at other formats as well. Funny how doing all the broken things brings all the better players out of the woodwork.
A long-term plan of mine is to run a tournament series similar to NEV. Assuming we can continue to grow the events. It's tough though since the Vegas magic community is mostly fractured and is also based solely in standard format.
I'm hoping that these tournaments will eventually grab the interest of the entire community as a way to break the monotony of normal tournaments and competitive formats.

16 players showed up for the 4th Las Vegas Vintage event! Four rounds of Swiss with a cut to top 4 was the order of business this night! Growth has been slow, but the fields are fun with a variety of decks and some solid play.
Results are as follows:
1. Lou Christopher - Burning Long 2. David Williams - Burning Long 3. Rob Opdyke - UR Landstill 4. Ben Jurek - RUG Delver
There was actually a finals split since we started much later than usual and everyone was ready to go out for the night.
Metagame Breakdown:
2 Burning Long 2 UR Landstill 2 RUG Delver 2 Dredge 1 Martello Shops 1 Espresso Stax 1 BOMBERMAN 1 Noble Fish 1 Bob/Snap Control 1 Bob/Tendrils 1 Goblins 1 Naya Stoneforge (homebrew)
Overall, it was a fun event and it was awesome watching all the unique lines of play that were taken throughout the night!
