FFY: Do you like the V. Heretic over the rack and ruin? Don't you think waiting a turn for the heretic to come online and investing 2 mana during your turn is not as good as casting rack and ruin on their EOT step would be a better play?
The adage about walking down the hill and f%#!ing them all fits with the heretic. I'm just curious why the man approach? He is most likely to shine against stax, but with monkey and welder already handling this decently why bring him in?. Albeit fish has CotV and nullrod, but with the monkey again handling CotV and your version of CS having duplicant makes this seem not horrid if nullrod resolves. when the time comes to slave them you have access to echoing truth or monkey can make it go away for 5 mana which might be difficult but not uncommon to achieve.
Now with you running gelectrode, which i can see running this over fire/ice, I don't see investing in 2 different men against fish. Just my opinion and wanted to hear your thoughts on why you're making this call.

I would have to agree with FFY, I want their men dead so I wouldnt play old man of the sea. As meddling mage being a moat, they have several flying beats that mage cant block, one of which is rootwater thief which left uncheck might cost you the game. In the mirror matchup welder is something I want to draw when Im ready to win which is when I have card advantage i.e. have drawn more cards or went broken.

Let's pretend that this is a good idea(which it's not) the idea of oath is get oath into play asap against a creature deck and bring in a beat stick for "free". With only four land that can produce green, you run the chance of having oath and no way of casting it. Granted you have lotus and an emerald, so that 6 mana sources in the deck. I dont like those odds. your fetch lands wont be able to help you and you will be fighting an uphill battle without a green source opening hand game two. Do you mull and hope for a green source? you make to potency of oath severely dampered if you cant put an oath into play early. pyroclasm is a better option and you wont have to transform your deck.

4 Ophidian 2 Morphling 4 Force of Will 4 Mana Drain 4 Mana Leak 4 Chalice of the Void 4 Back to Basics 2 Powder Keg 4 Brainstorm 1 Ancestral Recall 1 Time Walk 1 Black Lotus 1 Sol Ring 5 Moxen 1 Library of Alexandria 1 Strip Mine 4 Wasteland 2 Flooded Strand 3 Polluted Delta 8 Island
Cards to consider to add Fact or Fiction, a bounce spell like echoing truth if you're worried about something keg cant get rid of. While tinker DSC is good, if he's in your hand you're going to have to wait til you draw a brainstorm to put him back in the deck, this is why I chose Superman.

I'm still trying to learn this deck, but IMHO while slaving your opponent usually means game over it doesn't HAVE to slave your opponent to win. if you're run DSC you win in couple turns, if you run titan its few turns, either way thats a path to victory which doesn't involve slaver. What I see while trying to learn this deck is thats it takes it roots from Weissman's The Deck and trys to negate the opponents strategy and put a finisher on the board once the game is under control and win. Granted slaving an opponent accelerates this extremely quick but not necessary to win the game.

Since Brian and Rich (sorry don't know you but I'll pretend I do and call you by your first names) are here, I'm sure both of you do extensive playtesting and I notice either of you run intuition in your decks. Why have both of you dismissed this card? It seems like its a mini gifts and I good way to put robots in the grave and in Brian case strip mine in the grave. I understand the need for fodder to go with TfK, but to help with having an on-line welder and getting pieces to help with a big yawg will or whatnot. Seems advantageous for the deck, *shrugs*.

I've tried BS and I like it to an extent. I guess my inexperience with the deck shows, cuzz when it comes time to SB I look through the deck and it seems so tight its hard to decide what can come out. to me when i played against another control deck i wanted the duresses and REB as well as crypt. 6 cards, what to take out... to me against control the mytiscal and vampiric comes out, card disadvantage and tempo. now do i want to take out drains for duress or some draw like brainstorm? Seems I want to keep TfK to pitch robots and such. I like the shamans and never really want to see them leave. gifts? probably not I usually grab 4 artifacts with it and dont care which they give me. so far when i want duress in ive taken out drains for them and couple brainstorms another time. i dont like either plan, so all i know is that i want mytiscal and vampiric gone and i fumble around for the others. *shrug* I think maybe i need to watch someone pilot this and take notes...
