Well I haven't been to the mana drain in ages. So long infact I cant remember the old handle I used. Do know it looked completely different back then... must be like 3 yrs or something... anyhow my dilemma.
I no longer know ANYONE who plays MTG. Atleast not the MTG i miss playing. You know, 5 people huddled around a table in someones kitchen, playing with the deck they made this week to combat last weeks winning deck. Drinking beer, listening to music, trading some cards, throwing life counters, have fun.
MTG seems to have gotten to serious in the t2 enviroment. I've been to some local stores trying to find players like I was used to playing with, but they all do tourneys.. only tourneys. T1 magic? WTF is that they say. Dual lands and lotus? huh? You know the hippy? hypnotic what(course that has changed now with them rereleasing him).
I miss playing what I have dubbed.. casual hardcore magic. Meaning casual mentality, with tourney level decks. More t1 or extrended.
Anyhow the total dilemma is whether to sell my cards? I haven't played MTG in probably 3yrs now, or nothing more then a few average decks thrown together to try and get some people into magic. I never did complete the p9, but I do have stuff like an unlimited lotus, 40 dual lands, 4 english mana drains, library, workshop, old staples.
I think I could get atleast 2k for my collection as it defiantly above 4-5k but how far I don't know, as I have never actually sat down and priced everything. I never traded stuff away. I had the $$ at the time to buy whatever I wanted. Figured no point in trading most stuff as, at some point I would want it again. I started playing right after revised came out, and played pretty steady till urza's, then was off and on till mirrodin.
What would you do? Think.. you havent played in 3 yrs, and know NO ONE who currently plays. The "idea" of playing old magic might be what I'm holding onto, I don't know.
