That would have been better if you had one of those old Meandeck team photos with Kevin and JP and Carl in them. I was frankly disappointed when I saw that was just some random asian dudes. I was expecting Steve's face pasted over one of them at the very least.
There's a Paintshopped line over "Retards United" and the text "Meandeck" added in below it. This is to subtly say that Meandeck are a bunch of retards. Also, Doug Linn was said to be the female Asian in the picture. It works because his last name is "Linn" and equating a man with a female is a jab at his masculinity. Also, the background color is pink. Come on man, we're Magic players not comedians. Are you here to trash talk or psychoanalyze?

What kind of 'eternal' format is so weak you can't even play with 1 damn Sol Ring or Demonic Tutor? Is that even true though? I've been playing my sol ring at my shop every Saturday and no one says it's banned. They even allow 4x Prosperity. Troy_Costisick and all the rest of the Smmennenites need to stop attacking a legitimate format that is far more fun and better balanced than losing to Tendrils of Agony or Morphling for the hundredth damn time.I get what you're trying to do here, but it's not helping this tragedy of a thread. Verbal warning for spam/trolling. -DA

lol @ your perception of Vintage
Am I incorrect on this? Vintage is a distortion of the game and totally not what Richard Garfield had in mind when he designed it. The game is played totally without an attack step, unless you're casting Mana Drain I guess. a bunch of stuff
You just copied and pasted the original post, replacing "Legacy" with "this thread." Do you think we're dumb? Legacy exists because it gives people like me, who can't afford duals and blue cards, with a chance to compete even at the highest levels with whatever deck I feel. I've had lots of success with my mono black discard and mono green land destruction, which both require 0 nonbasics and only a few really expensive cards (damn Birds..)

Honestly though if I wanted to flip a coin and wait 20 minutes while my opponent took his first turn every match I'd play Vintage. At least Legacy isn't over turn one every game. No thanks, I'll stick to my Dwarven-Charbelcher deck, I win like every week with it and I don't need fancy duels or moxes to do it.

Like two weeks ago I went to an FNM in NYC. I had this pretty sick monored sligh deck I've been testing and I'm 2-0-1 going into the last round and I get paired up, which doesn't matter much to me since I can still win and have a shot at the $50 prize. I actually really need to win, since I recently lost my job and haven't been able to afford food for my cat Snuffles for like two weeks. My last five dollars were used on getting into the tournament. My own stomach is rumbling when I sit down across from this 24ish asian-looking dude who looks more like a stock broker than a magic player. Oh yeah he was wearing a suit and tie too.
He immediately asks if I know who he is, which is strange to me because I've never seen this dude in my life. When I reply that I don't he offers me a foil miscut german Grozoth to concede to him. I consider this seriously for like 10 seconds, since this would actually complete my set of miscut german foil Grozoths, but the need to feed myself and my family outweighs this. He seems to get really irritated when I refuse and then takes the card and tears it in half right in front of me, along with enough guru islands to hardcast the damn thing.
By this point I'm really thrown off and confused. I roll the die and get a 19. He looks behind my shoulder and says "holy shit, Steve Menendian's here." I look back, obviously excited, but all I see are a bunch of very large men with red rulers measuring cannon shots for Warhammer. When I turn around the die is on 20, which is strange because I never heard it roll, but he insists he did. I give him the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to bad luck.
He's on the play and takes like five minutes before playing a forest, declares that it comes into play untapped, and suspends a guy. On my turn I play my mountain and say go. On his turn, he drops a land, again stating that it comes into play untapped, and contemplates for awhile. He then says he is attacking with his Baloth, which incidentally still has five counters on it. I tell him it is still suspended, which seems to irritate him a lot, and he just plays a creature and says go.
This is actually where things got kind of sketchy. After he draws a card for his turn, he tells me he forgot about the Suspend counters for the last two turns. I tell him yeah, thats fine, but he keeps arguing and says he actually suspended it four turns ago. I count his two lands and tell him thats impossible. He then declares his Baloth as attacking, so I call a judge over. He asks the judge if he knows who he is and when the judge says no, he yells out "I'm the fucking Legacy champion" or something like that. He then asks to go to the bathroom and gets up and walks over to the counter. He buys a couple of Yugioh boosters and then just walks out of the store.
Really weird guy.

If there are no Vintage tournaments in your area, hold your own. You don't have to "convince" a card store to hold them for you, just pay a share to the store and they will be glad to lend the space. You can't really say it won't work unless you try.
If weekly tournaments are something you're looking for, thats a really tough thing for any format. In Syracuse, there is usually about 10 people for any given event. When I stopped by Neutral Ground in NYC the week of New Years, there were 4 teams for a two headed giant sealed deck tournament. The big events are really what get people excited, set one up!
Printing official proxies would be the sanctioning of fake cards in Magic, something Wizards simply cannot do.
Printing them in legal form would cause their value to drop considerably, but depending on availability, would probably still be out of reach of the average player. Buying a $50 mox is still impossible when you need five of them.
Printing too many would be the same thing as printing proxies.
The whole thing is a dumb idea.
