1  Eternal Formats / Creative / 99 red baloons or worse than grow on: August 17, 2006, 07:07:51 am
Hello

I have test this deck and it looks pretty budget and working fine

My meta is nearly powerless so my deck also doesn't contain any of power:

4x elvish spirit guide
4x v.kudzu
4x n.mongoose
2x wild mongrel
1x genesis

3x fow
3x daze
4x brainstorm
2x intuition
1x crop rotation
2x stp
2x null rod/seal of cleansing

3x life from the loam
1x fastbond
2x exploration

1x sol ring
1x mox diamond

3x f. strand
2x w. heath

3x tropical island
1x tundra

1x forest
1x cephalid colisseum

4x wasteland
4x ghost quarter
1x strip mine

Only 3 fow? I am think about the blue cards count in this deck and even think about only two or no fow/stiffle instead/

Matchups? I have tested against gobs, TPS and fish. fish is pretty good, combo is also good, gobs shows little problem but early kudzu and mana denial strategy can really help. Only the oath match up must be done, but i think it should not be autolose.

Looking forward to see some ideas.¨

PS: 9 strip effect=99 red balloons:D

2  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Sideboarding In Type 1 on: July 28, 2006, 04:04:43 am
Hello

First of all I would like to say that this thread is really useful. I am playing non power oath for a long time, since i started to play i found some cases where you sideboarding simply win the game.

For example: In game two against fish the smart fish player will know that you will remove those two nice stp targets and add simic sperm swallower in two pieces or i. angel and p. angel. so they will side out stp and add hate that wont let you oath at all, in meantime i am adding a SSS and blazing archon which will ruin him after he side out stp/or left one which i can take care of/.

Yes you can never exactly know what is your opponent siding in, but you can consider what it will be,

In game 3: you approximately know what does you opponent side in so you can swift to another version, in our example is simply, he will probably add stp in two pieces  but i would add another SSS and let the 3 creatures in my deck and his anti ench. hate will swift into average creature-ench hate.

I also met myself dealing with Worse than wish in game 3 simply adding Platinum angel and two cranial extraction for his only card he has got against- naturalize. the game looks good i have  oathed for p. angel, played c. extraction for naturalize and he packed his deck.

Hello

This is my first post on TMD, so I hope I did not make anything wrong Very Happy

I am going to the turnament and I dont know which deck should I choose. First of all the metagame will be unpowered heavy oath, fish and goblin. I am a long ´time oath player but i getting bored to be hated out. I am looking for the deck that should defeat fish, oath and is possible the win against aggro.

I am also thinking about possiblity to tech out my oath by replacing swordable akroma with irescident angel and pristine angel.

Another solution for me is to try some kind of deck with transforming sideboard.

Please gimme som advice if you have any, looking forward for any answer
