Hey all. I'm new to vintage and felt that this was the easiest deck to build. Here's the list I'm planning on running, as well as my specific concerns:
4 Noble Hierarch 4 Qasali Pridemage 4 Tarmogoyf 3 Cold-Eyed Selkie 3 Meddling Mage 2 Trygon Predator
3 Daze 3 Spell Pierce 4 Force of Will
3 Swords to Plowshares
1 Ancestral Recall 1 Time Walk
1 Black Lotus 1 Mox Pearl 1 Mox Emerald 1 Mox Sapphire
4 Null Rod
1 Strip Mine 4 Wasteland 1 Flooded Strand 1 Windswept Heath 4 Misty Rainforest 3 Tropical Island 2 Hallowed Fountain 1 Savannah
SB: 2 Kataki 2 Hurkyl's Recall 1 Swords to Plowshares 1 Sower of Temptation 1 Ray of Revelation 1 Spell Pierce 3 Stifle 1 Ravenous Trap 3 Wheel of Sun and Moon
Concerns/questions: - Fit in one basic Island? Maybe in the place of the Savannah - Should there be more draw/draw fixing? Like Brainstorm, Ponder, Gush (which are restricted, not banned, right?) - Should Aven Mindcensor be in the SB? - How's my # Kataki's vs # Hurkyl's in the board? - Enough GY hate in the SB? - Is there something I'm clearly forgetting to SB against? (Maybe Tezz.dec)

"Can a sandwich be covered with another sandwich?
Yes, smart ass it can, but there are stipulations to this that will be made PERFECTLY clear. In the event that one of your friends thinks he's real funny and covers his sandwich with another all the rules can still apply. If the sandwich is covered with another sandwich, the top sandwich must not have a bite taken out of it. If they covered their half eaten sandwich with another sandwich that has a bite out of it, then the top sandwich is playable and can be removed by another player and set beside it to make two, very punchable sandwiches."
Can we instead punch the miniature sandwich tower? Must we split the tower into its component sandwiches?

Eternal Formats / Creative / Modern Metagame

Hey all,
I'm primarily a Legacy player, and I'm really just hopping into Vintage for a big local T1 tourney with 15 (yes 15!) proxies. I don't know anything about the Vintage metagame since they axed blue (aka restricted Brainstorm and Ponder). So I was wondering if you guys could kind of fill me in. For example, is Stifle still a must-play, given that combo isn't as awesome now? Is Shattering Spree a must play to nail 3Sphere, and tons of other stuff, for cheap? Is the format still largely creatureless, or is Swords to Plowshares worth playing now?
Thanks in advance
