I did not use them at this event, but for future reference, how does this community feel about collectors edition cards as power. When double sleeved, are the corners still a concern? I greatly dislike the potential for confusion created by my terrible sharpie handwriting.

Thanks to Keith I know this event exists, so I will be making my way up from North Providence after working third shift Friday. Can I reccomend a structure of 400 to 1st, 200 to 2nd, 100 to 3rd/4th, and 50 to 5th/6th/7th/8th. Split for 125 at top 8, 200 at top 4, and 300 each of you split the finals.

While I'd live to use the same standard pandemonium has in the past, I'm gonna play it a little loose in regards to proxies as the locals don't neccesarily know what all the cards do, so there is upside to allowing printouts in sleeves. If there is any issue with really sloppy proxies I'll have sharpies and basics on me and they can reference the picture out of the deckbox.

Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / [Rhode Island] Unlimited Proxy Tournament for a Library

Having played in some excellent tournaments at Pandemonium and Scholars, I wanted to see if there was some interest in some larger vintage tournaments in the Rhode Island area. Here are the details for the first of (hopefully) many to come. Date: May 10 2014 Time: 1:00 PM Location: The Incredible Pulp 140 Point Judith Rd #40, Narragansett, RI 02882 (401) 788-1007 Format: Unlimited Proxy Unsanctioned Vintage Event Entry: $25 At 8 players , A LIBRARY OF ALEXANDRIA for the Winner. At 9-16 players, prizes for second place, third and fourth place. At 17+ players, prizes to the highest finishing unpowered deck, and highest placing zero proxy deck. At 8 players, the tournament will be swiss, rather than single elimination, too allow people to experience the format, with no cut, the two 2-0's can split or play it out. At 9-16 players, It will be swiss plus one (five rounds) cut to top 4. At 17+ players it will be a straight cut to top 8 single elimination. Modified play draw rule in all cuts to top 4/8. Hope to see you there! I wanted to directly upload the photos of the library here, but i couldn't figure out how to do it. As such, I hope the link below to an album on my facebook page works, so you can see the library in all it's glory. Also, a local alterist has given us a handpainted black lotus to give away as a door prize! https://www.facebook.com/david.matthew.nunez#!/david.matthew.nunez/media_set?set=a.10153032609320663.606370662&type=3

I just wanted to say that I was there this past monday, and had an excellent time. I'd love to be up more in the future, and after I start up at Rhode Island hospital in a few weeks, I'll potentially have cut down my drive time by ten to fifteen minutes, and saved 20-40 miles worth of gas. I sadly have work next Monday, and no budget deck and no power, so I likely won't be up next week, but I hope attendance is good and everyone has a great time!

Hello everyone,
My Name is Dave Nunez, I'm from Rhode Island and started playing magic around 2002 (seventh edition). For me, this was around fifth grade, and what I considered a good deck at the time was my friends g/w Mirari's Wake deck. I didn't really play that much until high school, where we played large multiplayer games. I made a white Clerics and Test of Endurance deck in the beginning, and overtime developed more. I went to my first couple FNMs during Lorwyn block. However after high school I was on a brief hiatus from Magic as a pre-pharmacy student at URI. I started back up once again with Innistrad, creating a R/G werewolves deck that I would ultimately take to a 46th place finish at my first SCG open. The human/wolf token, and Lingering Souls as an FNM promo were driving factors to get me to move up from just playing at the URI gaming club. I frequent the Mana Core in Providence, and The Incredible Pulp in Narragansett, depending upon exactly where I am in the state. But lets move on to the fun stuff aka Vintage. I stumbled upon the concept of proxied vintage at Scholars, and was considering making a deck. If dark times was better, that might have been what I play. I really like Marc Lanigra's Grixis deck, but had to recognize that I can't afford FoW's, drains, or Jace's right now. For a while I put the concept on the back burner. However, in a whirlwind of events, I lost a lot of my collection, and decided it was time to reinvent myself as a player. I decided that Griselbrand is the strongest effect that has been printed in Magic in a long time, so that would be where I would start. I also stumbled upon the Bazaar of Moxen, and noticed that it would take place right around my 22nd birthday. The real nail in the coffin is when Brian Demars posted Stephen Menendian's Burning Tendrils Deck. I had played storm in modern, and the deck plays all the busted restricted cards, as well as Griselbrand oath. I also found the event at Pandemonium that took place sunday 5/26. A friend of mine does have the Forces, and the Dark Confidants, as well as some original duals, so I convinced him to come with me and be a testing partner. Ultimately, myself, and the people I went with didn't have great records, but we all had a great time, so hopefully you will be seeing more of me at vintage events in the future!
