1  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: 9th at Vintage Champs '14 w/ Gush Tendrils on: October 28, 2014, 04:20:51 pm
Nice report and entertaining commentary.  Sounds like the event was a lot of fun for everyone.  Wished I could have attended, but at least Card Titan streamed, which I followed all day (much to the chagrin of my wife).  Congrats on a strong finish!

Nice, I was looking at an enchantment deck too, I like your ideas, definitely more viable than the slightly different theme I was looking at.
Serra's Sanctum being unrestricted seems like it should be something to abuse along with Leylines.

Have you thought about Aura of Silence in main, or maybe in the sideboard in place of some or all of the Energy Fluxes?

This is a good read and very true that today it is better to get them from the top down, plus as long as MTG remains popular, these cards are only going to get exponentially more expensive.  Thanks for sharing!

I was lucky in that I got my big cards between 1999-2003, during the heydey of Standard...the living death decks, replenish, mono blue treachery, fires of yavimaya...Type 1 was rather unpopular at the time and it was quite easy to trade stacks of Absorbs, Birds, Scroll Racks etc for P9, whether via the local card shop or through MOTL.
I just wish I had predicted how expensive FoW, goyf, duals, fetches and Bob would get.  Speculating on those would have been some easy money.  The next article on this type of topic should be about how to crack the code on mid-range cards like these.

PS - did anyone think Tabernacle or Karakas would shoot up as much as they have?

Definitely interested in seeing the report on an Easter draft.  Any themed decks, I wonder?
I wish Eudemonia had been around when I was in Berkeley 15 years ago.
