Love the free vintage podcast. Love the fact that folks (like me) with only a handful of posts are actively giving feedback here and all over TMD of late. I like that the vintage community is growing. Also, i acknowledge that podcasts like this and (the other one) Serious Vintage are a point of entry for a lot of folks. I appreciate the contribution and see it as a labor of love by the casters, demonstrating your dedication to the community as a whole. So thanks for that! That said, i think we can all agree this set is mostly drek, at best it adds a couple cards to fringe strategies. I think the analysis of why this set is mostly drek is valuable for sure, but i am not sure that much was added in the podcast that was not already covered in detail by the hivemind in the forums here on TMD. Though, Smendos deadpan analysis of Rending Volley kinda had me in stitches. Well played, sir, i see what you did there, 93/94, that was awesome! I dig the idea of analyzing Gitaxian Probe in the future. I'd also like to hear your take on Dark Confidant vs. Nights Whisper. I'd love to hear your take on fringe decklists too and why they are fringe, things like Mono Black Control or Goblins, what kind of weapons and advantages they have, why is it not a potent tier 1 strategy. Muse about what future printings would bring these fringe strategies into Tier 1 or 1.5, what are they missing? Thanks again for the great podcast! Cheers!

Hi Storm! Thanks for the the outstanding Primer and sharing the results of your extensive time spent testing, i absolutely appreciate your contribution to the community! However, i would be remiss if i did not express my wallets ABSOLUTE DISGUST at at your efforts toward making Tabernacle so dang playable and even critical to this otherwise affordable and universally attractive strategy. sigh. Keep up the good work, sir, and please accept my most enthusiastic encouragement toward continuing to give those pesky blue and brown mages fits...

Great coverage, I curse my adult life for keeping me from being on the ground for these elite events...but seriously friends, deck lists?? Meta breakdown?? Is Forgemaster Shops the elephant in the room?? Cheers all and props on pulling off a major vintage event!!

Couldn't make this one but my team did and they had a blast! Wish there was more coverage but i understand that it is a community run event and resources are limited. I hear the artists were all wicked cool and though no one on the team placed very high, the community and players and general vibe in the room was top notch! Congrats to Mr. D for pulling off a great event! I will make every effort to attend next year, this event looked awesome!! How did Soly do? Also, Mr. Lim was NOT on Dredge...well played, Sir.

Hi, my name is Jason and I started playing Spellfire in the summer of 94. Lots of fun till I picked up Magic. Haven't looked back. I brought the game back to my home town in CT, from where i discovered it at Quarterstaff Games in Burlington, VT. Revised was the core set and The Dark was the most recent expansion. I remember the terrible let down that was Fallen Empires and I remember finding a LGS that got a bunch of singles from Legends. I remember my mind being blown by Boomerang and Enchantment Alteration and I still remember the day i realized Svitri Scarzam was really just a bad Craw Wurm. I played in type 1 tournaments at LGS's around CT with a U/B Control list that I still believe to be on par with the old Weisman Deck. I turned a bunch of my buddies on to the game, many still play today! I fell off the Magic train around Alliances, missed Urza Block, and picked it up again right after Kamigawa, just randomly. Ravnica got me hooked again as I met a dude that had been into the tournament scene and he told tales of the brutal Affinity Decks of Mirrodin and the older Trix Decks from Urza block. Magic had grown and gotten considerably more complex and I loved it. Flash forward quite a few years and I find myself married with children and scant time for slinging cardboard. I stumbled upon Eternal Central and the So Many Insane Plays and Serious Vintage Pod Casts and, finding Vintage suddenly so accessible, dove back head first! Honest props to the folks that put those shows together, I think the work they do really does a great service to the community! I've lurked these boards for a few years and absolutely appreciate the folks that have put time and effort into making these boards (and this game) so great! I believe it is truly an awesome community of players and am happy to count myself as a member. So there it is, Cheers! I sincerely hope I can make a positive contribution to the community here at TMD!
