1  Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Re: Should I buy in MTGO? on: August 11, 2014, 12:55:08 am
Because of the number of bots available on MTGO, deals are hard to find and not always worth the time you put in to find them. The best you will usually find is the mid point between bot buy prices and bot sell prices. Sometimes if I really want to save a few dollars, I'll post buy prices a little higher than the highest bot buy price and monitor the add at work for a few days. This seems to be the best way to get a deal if you aren't in a rush. Otherwise, price compare and buy the cheapest you find.
2  Eternal Formats / Online Tournaments / Re: Magic Online Vintage Premiere Event, July 13th (Possibly First Ever!) on: July 14, 2014, 09:24:13 am
Looked like a great tournament! Sad I had to drop at the last minute but I'm glad it filled up!

For those who are new to MTGO or don't really play MTGO, don't forget you can watch replays of every single match (especially good for watching all the top 8 matches). All you need is an MTGO account:

1. Click "Play" --> "Tournaments" --> "Scheduled Events"

2. Locate event #7283132, the premiere vintage event, and double click

3. Use the "select round" button to move between rounds

4. Double click the match you want to watch, then double click the game.

5. Hit the "play" button inside the game to get it started.

How much do vintage events cost to play? Are there different priced events? I've never played magic online, so I have no idea how to even go about finding this information! Very Happy

Daily events are scheduled several times a day and are 4 rounds with a 6 ticket entry:

Premiere events are scheduled on weekends (5pm PST Fri/Sat/Sun this week) and are 6 rounds cut to top 8 with a 10 ticket entry:

Wizards will post the results of all vintage premiere events and 1 vintage daily event per day here:

Hello! My name is Kyle and I'm returning to Vintage again with the release of the P9 on MTGO. For the past few years I've been playing Classic on MTGO instead, and I'm very excited to get back to using power! Now if only the MTGO client could be made reasonably nice....
