Hi TMD,
My name is Paul. I've been playing M:tG since Unlimited but I took a long hiatus (from Urza block through RAV/TSP Standard) to go to college and grad school, meet my wife, go overseas with the reserves and find a job. I started playing seriously in 2007 and played mostly Standard. I got into Legacy and, in particular, Vintage about a year ago when I realized that I could actually use those Power 9 cards I'd saved from the '90s.
I have a likely unenviable love of glass cannon decks so I play Belcher and All Spells in Legacy and I love me some Vintage Dredge (not that Dredge is a true glass cannon, though it is certainly linear, especially in game one). Perhaps because of my age (37) or because of my occupation (I am a college English professor, whence my overlong introduction), I love Magic best because it allows me to meet people, teach people and learn from people. Sure, I like to win but I just love the game and have for twenty years. In fact, when my wife and I moved from NY to my native MA, I told her, quite clearly, that I'd be playing Magic again. To her great credit, she hasn't complained.
Anyway, I love Magic and I really love eternal formats. I don't know what I have to offer the forums but I'm glad to be a part of TMD.
