1  Eternal Formats / Canada / Vintage Proxy Tournament at Face2Face Montreal on: November 28, 2015, 05:15:22 pm
Face to Face Games will be giving another chance to Vintage Magic fans with the return to Vintage Tournaments.

There will be one on Sunday, December 13th and unlike the last times the proxy limit has been upgraded to 10 free proxies, with 1$ per proxy after those first ten.

Please share this information and let's try and get as many people to come as we possibly can because the future of Vintage tournaments at Montreal's Face to Face is dependent on the turnout.

Here is the information (which can also be found on their site)
Thank you, and hopefully Ill see many of you there.

Does anyone know if Library of Alexandria is considered "non-budget"

i.e. are you still in the budget category if your deck runs Library?

Amazing, the Academy Playmat is simply beautiful. Cant wait for the weekend even though ill be sporting a budget deck like last year. Was still so much, as I expect this one to be as well.

Side note: Is anyone thinking of bringing their Old Shool (93/94) decks? I would love to get some games in with the brave few who will!

Hello everyone reading, my name is Mark and my goal is simple:

Id like to increase awareness/participation of the Vintage format in Quebec/Canada as it seems to be the least popular location for the format.
I want to either personally host, or speak to some LGSs to try and set up a tournament date, either once in a while or recurring for Vintage aficionados and the curious alike.

Unfortunately I cannot set up any of this without a general idea of how many people would be interested, and then make the effort to show up.
If this happens a) Ill post more details about the specifics, and b) it would take place, as the subject line states, around the Montreal/Laval area (west-island, ndg, st-laurent, decarie, etc.. there are many possible venues).

So please, post below if this is something you would look forward to. I'm very excited to play Vintage with a wide array of people and would love it if I could start that off by playing with some locals so we can get together often, with ease due to proximity (that being said, out of townees are obviously more than welcome to a) post here and b) come and play).

Lets try and get this thing going!

Hello, my name is Mark. I started playing shortly after Prophecy was released though the first cards I ever touched were in fact from Mercadian Masques and it remains to this day my favorite set. I played from grade 4 until the released Mirrodin where I was quite displeased with the overwhelming amount of new artifacts (mostly the new borders, though, bothered me... everything before Mirrodin will always have a special place in my heart). Being young, i didnt understand how broken the block actually was, nor was I aware that the cards followed a serious story. In my naiveté, i put my cards aside and didnt look at them 5 years.

I met some people down the line that also had their childhood dominated by the game and we, naturally, reignited our love for the game. I was brought to life in Magic only to witness the lovely abomination that would become known as the wallet sculptor and learned a new definition for the term UW Control. Due to casual play, we eventually got really busy and stopped playing together which ultimately put an end to our playing in general.

Thankfully, some people having simply owned the cards when they were little but never actually engaging in a game, wanted to at the age of 21 learn what they were missing, and i used the oppotunity as a portal back into the game in which i love so much.

2 years later, I was in a store and discovered Yawgmoth's Will and my life, with regards to magic, changed forever. Vintage took over my spare time, and ive been doing nothing but reading and learning about the format ever since, which innevitably has brought me here, to TMD and i couldnt be happier to be a part of the community.

I look forward with extreme enthusiasm to the tournaments in which i cannot wait to attend.
