1  Vintage Community Discussion / Rules Q&A / Re: Replicate on: August 26, 2015, 06:35:37 pm
Yeah.  I was the head judge on Sunday.  I apologize for flubbing that one.

Funny you say that Steve, because i did Jeremy's phone with this thread on it to the judge after the game and it did not influence the decision. it wasnt for many rounds later that i got with abe though

I'm a little confused about this statement.  A small group came up to me on the stage after the match to discuss the ruling.  After looking more into it, I had agreed that I was incorrect.  This thread was never shown to me, though.

Thanks to the eight people who came out last night.  It was a great time with lots of close games.

We had six this past Monday and it was great.  I'm really excited to see what people bring next week.

Hello.  My name is Joe Hughto and I help organize events at Worlds Apart Games in Amherst, MA.  We're a co-op which means that we're all volunteer.

Two weeks ago, we started running Vintage every Monday at 7pm.  It's unlimited proxies and buy in is $5.  All of the entry goes out in store credit to anyone with a positive record.  The thread for this event is here: http://www.themanadrain.com/index.php?topic=47669.0

This event was awesome.  The largest Vintage event I'd played in before was 14 players (at GP Philly), so this was great to have a top 8 that was actually a fight to get into.  It also led to one of the most fun I've ever had playing a game of Magic involving an Engineered Plague locking out my opponent from casting Delver or Young Pyromancer, and then him ultimating Dack to steal my Factory to try to beat me with me my own dude.  Thankfully another Engineered Plague on assembly-worker slowed down that clock and he decked himself.

That's great.

At the moment, I've proxied up all of the VSL Season 2 lists just so we can get more people playing right away.  Last week about half of the people used those and the other half brought their own proxied decks.  I believe that I'm the only person in the store that's not using proxies, but I hope that will change in the coming months.

We started up a weekly unlimited proxy Vintage event at Worlds Apart Games in Amherst, MA.  Entry is $5 and it starts at 7pm on Monday nights.  All of the entry will go back out in prizes to anyone with a positive record.  We've just started building a Vintage community out here and people are really excited about it so far. Hi everyone,  I'm a software developer in western Mass.  I started playing Vintage (first 4c PW Control, and now Dredge) about a year ago.  However, the thing that brings me to TMD is the great community here for original art.  I just picked up my first couple pieces and can't wait to pick up some more.
