activate Time Vault and then tutor for Voltaic Key.

You don't even need voltaic key, he does that too.

People on StarCity have already come up with the idea of just winning with time vault after it is restored to its old functionality.

Tutor up time vault into play, pass turn, win?

I heard that if they get 35 people the prize will be double power.

This Tourney should be hella fun.  Everyone should come out if they can.

Hella fun? You crack me up.

If i scrub I'll be looking for people to throw down with me to buy one of Hobbytown's beautiful remote control vehicles (I'm thinking helicopter).

Stifle can also save you from your Bobs in a pinch, I know everyone has used them like this one time or another.
6  Archives / Tournament Announcement Forum / Re: 12/15/07 MTGChicago.com Hosts Vintage @ College of Dupage December 15th on: December 17, 2007, 11:11:53 am
Although there was not a huge turnout (20 I believe) the tournament was really fun and the prizes were great.
The top 8 look something like this

James King (ICBM) - Oath
Jeremy Seroogy (ICBM) - Empty Gush
A.J Sacher - TKDeezNaughts
James (GBAR) - U/B PlatzPact
John Donavan (GWS) - Dawn of the Dead
Ryhno Spindler (GWS) - Slaver
Mike Solymossy (GWS) - U/W Control
Ben Roberts (GWS) - TKDeezNaughts

Ryhno vs. Jeremy, Ryhno wins
Soly vs. A.J., A.J. wins
James vs. Ben, Ben wins
John vs. James, James wins

A.J. vs Ryhno, A.J. wins
Ben vs. James, Ben wins

A.J. and Ben split in the finals

We've got enough time to break it, it's two months away...and if we can't break it, we'll play it
10  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: SCG Indianapolis Updates on: September 17, 2007, 03:29:21 pm
Where were the Flash decks?  Is it just that not too many good players are running it?  Hard to say.  Tune in next time to see how that all resolves.

I think I was the highest placing Flash coming in 11th, idk if there were any other in the top 32 but maybe....

how would this car work with sphere of resistance/glowrider? Would 3cc cards then not be able to be played?

13  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: [Single Card Discussion] Delay on: April 11, 2007, 01:11:49 pm
It is an interesting alternative to remand, and is better in most situations, but I don't think is belongs it combo/control. Perhaps it could be good in some fish variant as an alternative to daze?
14  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Ritual Gifts on: February 09, 2007, 02:27:14 pm
Being able to utilize a hate card against combo turn one is extremely important. Spending two mana to get a card out of your opponent's hand is not going to stop combo AT ALL. When you have two mana, you better be casting merchant scroll > force of will. Also, mesmeric fiend is a very narrow card. What else is it even marginal against? Not much. Hell even Stifle is better than mesmeric fiend.
15  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: Ritual Gifts on: February 09, 2007, 12:34:30 pm
I think mesmeric fiend is downright terrible. Extirpate, Duress, Unmask, and even Envelope are better.

Storm based decks do terrible at passtimes because there is so much hate for them there. Ive played IGGy twice and Reanimate 7 once and got totally rolled by Solidarity and Force/Stifle/Meddling Mage decks.

You were lucky you weren't there so Tommy couldn't beat you Razz
19  Vintage Community Discussion / Card Creation Forum / Re: Storm draw spell on: December 20, 2006, 10:22:49 am
If it was an instant no matter what the casting cost we would see the second coming of Solidarity in Legacy.

I'll be going down to the tournamnet from Milwaukee if you need a ride?
21  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: [Deck] Win Long on: December 08, 2006, 05:25:59 pm
Like you said, your deck runs so many 1 drops including only one chain that you need a Rebuild or at least a Hurkyl's to deal with Chalice at 1. You aslso need to run Timetwister as a reset button. Is NW and Mental note better than AK/Intuition?
22  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: The Druids of Winter, A letter from Windfall on: December 05, 2006, 01:09:42 pm
OOOO Baby this deck is the hot stuff, I think I will play it at the GWS Open (I mean Passtimes) this Sunday.

I may cut one CoV and a Waste for two Mishra's Factores.

27  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: Two reports for the price of 1! Top-4 and Top-8 at Pastimes and COD on: October 10, 2006, 03:48:38 pm
Oh man there was so much fish there. I played against 5 fish decks and 4 of them were different builds (SS, Urbana, U/W vial, U/W Grunt)!!!! The only game I didn't play aainst fish was in the top 4 against TK. But I was prepared, my SB was built to hate fish:

2 Engineered Explosives
2 FTK
2 Fire/Ice
1 Pyroblast
1 REB
2 Pithing Needle
1 Rebuild
1 CoVapor
2 T. Crypt
1 Tendrils

I knew most people would expect me to side the Tinker/darksteel out, but I used that to my advantage. He owns fish.
