I'm live in the south-central PA area and started playing at about Urza's Destiny, then stopped at the Kamigawa sets. I played occasionally with friends over the last 8-9 years but didn't really follow the new sets. Now I'm finished with the military and college and have a real job, so I think it's time to get back into magic.
As a kid I was always fascinated by the older guys at my shop playing 'the deck' and other very complex type 1 powerhouses. I always tried to collect older cards to make a T1 control deck. Luckily I did because most of those cards are $100+ now.
Over time I collected a set of power (minus timetwister) and many of the other pre-Kamigawa staples. I opened a pack of Worldwake when it came out and pulled this crazy 'planeswalker' card called Jace, the Mindsculpter. I didn't know how it worked so I stowed it away. Luckily he's a pretty cool guy nowadays.
I look forwards to relearning the meta and losing 500 games in a row.
