Hi,

My name is Wendall. I first played magic back in 1994, when I bought an unlimited starter pack at a little game shop at the suggestion of a couple friends of mine. That pack had an Ancestral Recall, which was pretty sweet.

We played casually among ourselves, and I stopped for a while, but started playing again off and on on mtgo around the time Time Spiral was released - mostly in the casual room, building terrible decks with cheap cards.

Then my wife came home with my boys one day after taking them to the game shop, and they were talking about this sweet game they wanted to play, with a few of Scars of Mirrodin packs. I built Kuldotha Red (because it was cheap, and ran bolt ... which was all nostalgia, casting bolts) and started taking them to FNMs every week.

Eventually they lost interest, but me - I did not. I played standard for a while (caw blade, wolf run ramp), then started playing Legacy. Then vintage came out on MTGO, and  I found out about a local proxy Vintage tournament a few of the local guys run once every two to three months. I've been playing every one of those I can make since I found out about it.

All that led to a trip to Eternal Weekend this year, to play in a sanctioned Vintage tournament for the first time. Maybe I saw some of you there - I know I sat & watched a couple of smenendian's matches in the 93/94 tournament in the hotel lobby (that was sweet, and I wish I'd known about it beforehand, I probably could have played in it and lost a lot).

Anyway, I'm a terrible player, but it's really fun, and I've been lurking off & on with no account for a bit ... glad to be here.
