Sun Titan was too situational. I played Inferno Titan over them and was very, very happy.

I appreciate your write-up, Rich. This part stood out most to me, mostly because Sun Titan sounded so good on paper. I still need to play more with the deck (was busy all weekend and missed the p9) but Inferno Titan wasn't a card I was super excited about running.

Sounds like a cool deck, could someone link the videos that were referenced?

Any of these from Jan 23 and 24

There's another list on MTGGoldfish that shows Rich playing an Inferno Titan in that slot. Sun Titan sounds interesting because of what it can end up getting back. Both seem better than Prime Time.

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I like Sun Titan as an anti-shops target. At worst, it'll return you a land. At best, it returns a Dack or Deed (which you hopefully mill while oathing).

Ha, didn't even realize it pulled the foil tag on there. Guess that's what I get for using MTGO export instead of copying manually. Razz
7  Eternal Formats / Creative / Re: Revival of Survival on: January 25, 2016, 08:44:11 am
In the last week or so I've run into someone playing the RG version of Survival with Magus of the Moon. It seemed particularly nasty. Forgive me for necro'ing this thread but has anyone given Survival decks a try recently?

I didn't have quite as much luck in my daily excursion (going 1-3) but I'm curious what you'd replace Titania with. Perhaps we just roll with Elesh Norn MD? It doesn't help against Shops but should be good in most other caes.
9  Eternal Formats / Blue-Based Control / Re: Odd Oath on: January 23, 2016, 06:25:47 pm
Definitely going to give this list a try, though I'd be tempted to cut maybe a Duress for an Elesh Norn against Delver/Mentor decks.

Desolutionist/Islandswamp when will you guys be available? I should be on tomorrow evening and available to play games, or later in the evening on Thursday. Feel free to PM me and let me know what works best for you.

As someone looking to branch out from more than one deck on MTGO I'm definitely going to put this to use.

Thanks for the reminder, I'll have to grab some of those this week.
14  Eternal Formats / Blue-Based Control / Re: Improving Bant Mentor on: January 15, 2016, 10:54:32 am
Right now I'm playing a 4c list with a miser Grudge and Dack main
15  Eternal Formats / Blue-Based Control / Re: Improving Bant Mentor on: January 15, 2016, 09:04:27 am
I've tried the Seeker and wanted for it to work, I've just never had it actually play out in a game yet. I had tried Dromoka previously, but being a Gush deck (even with Fastbond) it was very hard to ever cast. Even without lifegain, though, I've found Library to have plenty of utility and occasional card draw.

In the meantime, I've personally added a third Mentor and an additional Jace. I haven't gotten to play the deck quite as much as I'd like but I'm definitely still thinking about it and trying to make it work better.

This is actually a good question. It's not listed on the most recent MTGO Announcement article:

That's awesome you guys could get those prizes together. I'd be interested in playing, the scheduled times just don't fit my schedule at all. :\
18  Eternal Formats / Ritual-Based Combo / Sideboarding with TPS on: January 11, 2016, 04:59:21 pm
I've recently picked up a TPS list (http://magic.wizards.com/en/MTGO/articles/archive/vintage-super-league-season-4-decklists#Froehlich) and know how the deck generally plays, but I feel very lost when it comes to sideboarding. I'm just not sure what can come out in each matchup to accommodate sideboard cards without ruining the rest of the deck.

Would anyone be willing to walk me through how you sideboard against the bigger decks (like Shops, Mentor, etc.)?
19  Eternal Formats / Online Tournaments / Re: MTGO Player-Run Vintage League: January 1 (Week 2 Pairings) on: January 11, 2016, 08:38:04 am
Can we make it so we don't play the same person multiple times in one week in the future? Out of my 6 matches 3 of them will have been against joel. I don't mind, but I could see it getting miserable depending on the matchup.

But our first match was so fun. You don't want to run it back a couple times a week?  Very Happy
20  Eternal Formats / Online Tournaments / Re: MTGO Player-Run Vintage League: January 1 (Week 1 Pairings) on: January 09, 2016, 03:47:53 pm
I should actually have 5 game losses
21  Eternal Formats / Blue-Based Control / Re: Improving Bant Mentor on: January 07, 2016, 06:07:23 pm
A problem I have with this thread is that it suggests there is one optimal build when the deck is a core of several cards (Mentor, Sylvan Library, Gush) and a bunch of peripherals that are 100% metagame dependent.

Actually this is what I was trying to convey in my OP.
22  Eternal Formats / Online Tournaments / Re: MTGO Player-Run Vintage League: January 1 (Week 1 Pairings) on: January 07, 2016, 05:46:59 pm
I think I might have accidentally put 5 game wins instead of 4. Math is hard.
23  Eternal Formats / Online Tournaments / Re: MTGO Power Nine Challenge - Saturday, January 30th on: January 07, 2016, 08:13:28 am
Looking forward to it! Hoping I perform a little better this go around...finishing 33rd was soulcrushing.
24  Eternal Formats / Blue-Based Control / Re: Improving Bant Mentor on: January 06, 2016, 09:09:37 pm
Those are great points for Ojutai & Seeker. I'll definitely give them a try going forward.

Has anyone here spoken to Vizzerdrix or seen him online? I haven't so far.
26  Eternal Formats / Blue-Based Control / Re: Improving Bant Mentor on: January 06, 2016, 05:59:03 pm
I haven't played those two cards yet (I'm playing a 2nd JTMS and Dromoka instead) so I'd be curious in hearing Rich's thoughts on the cards. I've been playing this list:

I've been really enjoying Fastbond, as it allows for some very explosive things to happen really quickly. The singleton Dack and Grudge feel very good in the current meta, while I'm not sold on MBT. I think it could maybe be a Stony Silence for additional shops hate. I'm also still trying to get a feel for the deck and what it does in all the various matchups.

I'm joel1031 on MTGO. I'm in the EST time zone and would prefer to play tonight or tomorrow but PM me if you have a specific time/day in mind.
29  Eternal Formats / Online Tournaments / Re: MTGO Power Nine Challenge - Saturday, December 26th on: December 26, 2015, 08:09:06 pm
Played 4c Mentor today to a 4-3 finish. Breakers put me at 33rd so I just missed getting my entry back. Was a lot of fun, had some high highs and some nailbiters. At one point I looked at 12 cards for 5 outs in my deck and found none of them. But then a round or two later I won on t3 both games, so it balances out.

Can't wait to see how many people get in next month!
