Question: The "juzam" Sliver reads:
Cost: 2BB Card Type: Creature - Sliver P/T: 5/5 Rules Text (Oracle): All Slivers have "At the beginning of your upkeep, this creature deals 1 damage to you."
Does this means if my opponent plays an sliver, would an 1 extra damage be dealt to him or to me? (making it worse than Juzam)

I dont see Magic as a game of "strategy and luck", but as one of "strategy and probabilities". Even intentional random mechanics in the cards (die roll, coin flip) can be expressed as 1o6, 1o2, and so. You have a 50% chance of starting the match. Thatīs a probability that comes with the game, which should be added as a factor in deck design (as, in questions like how much should I mulligan against a GrimLong deck, on game two, if I dont go first?). But probability is not (IMHO) luck (at least, in a supersticious way  ) All previous examples (the Ancestrall topdecking, the inclusion of tutors to modify the odds, etc.) can be expressed (as some of our mathematical fellows here have shown) in probability percentages. Then, as deckbuilders, we all are aware of this, and that`s why we spent happy&merry hours tweaking and playtesting: so we donīt play a 2 land deck and get mana screw and then say "we had bad luck" (in any case, if someone doing some kind of rituals, or carrying an specific lucky charm, DOES in fact draw Ancestral all the time, may be we are all wrong)

Sorry, but I ve been playing a lot of years, and today I find im doing such a Noob question:
Me: - Welder in play, memory jar in graveyard, mox in play. He: - Staff of Domination, Infinite Mana, Lots and Lots of elves, insect tokens, alluren, etc. BUT with 3 cards on graveyard.
His long turn. In response to a final Tendrils of Agony he casts, I tap welder, to get the Jar, and Deck him. He says that in response, with SoD he taps the welder, so I dont get the Jar.
I was pretty dizzy already, so I told him I lost. can any explain me the rules there? Thanks!

Will, Brainstorm & Tinker in hand. Lot of mana. Mindslaver in graveyard, along with other stuff.
can I play Will, then Brainstorm, draw 3, and then put the Mindslaver and other card on top of the library, so I can Tinker into Mindslaver?
Because Will says that I can play cards from my graveyard as if they were in my hand, and Brainstorm says put two cards "from your hand" on top of the library...
does this work?

Also, although you are running the pentavus lock, it is good to keep in mind that you can just gifts for two cards, which in many of the versions which run crucible can establish your lock immediately.
As Im using the CoW for Stripmine, I wondered if I could replace a land with Darksteel Citadel, in order to have both the Pentavus and the CoW lock, whichever may I play first. Does this weak the deck? Thanks for all the info so far!! ItÂīs difficult to know exactly what to gift for... I used to put Will in the 4 cards choice, and now I realize I have to put cards that get me Will, or make it work better... the double entomb is also a nice play

My first post... Sorry if this thread has already been discussed, but I'd look for it all over the net, and have found none.
I've seen everywhere that the Control Slaver decklist are adding Gifts Ungiven to the deck.
I dont have too much experience with the Slaver, so when I playtest my deck with Gifts, it was very difficult for me to know what to Gifts for, and ended up most of the time ruining myself.
MD Gifts is focussed basically in getting the Time Walk, Recoup, Tinker, Will combo, and I don't have such a clear focus in Control Slaver, so I guess it's kind of a situational choice.
As a little help then, I wanted to know when you play Control Slaver (with Gifts), what do you guys Gifts for, and under what circumstances?
