1  Eternal Formats / Miscellaneous / Re: [Deck's Discussion] - 5C-$t4k$- 2007 - Cool Locks, Cool Wins on: March 06, 2007, 07:50:46 pm
This is the list that you can deduce from my previous written words.

(24) _ Mana
4 City of Brass
3 Ancient Tomb
3 Gemstone Mine
2 Wasteland
1 Ghost Quarter

1 Stripmine
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Jet
1 Black Lotus
1 Lotus Petal
1 Sol Ring
1 Mana Crypt

(17) _ Lock
4 Chalice of the Void
4 Pyrostatic Pillar
4 Root Maze
3 Tangle Wire
2 Crucible of Worlds

(11) _ Beaters
4 Dark Confidant
4 Phyrexian Negators
3 Gorilla Shaman

(9) _ Singletons
1 Ancestral Recall
1 Time Walk
1 Demonic Tutor
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Crop Rotation
1 Balance
1 Trinisphere
1 Darkblast
1 Engineered Explosives

By my calculations, this decklist has an average casting cost of:  1.0492, which seems to be fine, even running 4 Dark Confidants.  Just throwing it out there so people realize it isn't crazy to run 4 Bobs Smile

It doesn't seem like Sylvan Library is "abusable" enough to make the inclusion of green worthwhile.  Depending on how  clutch you find Balance, it may also stress the manabase more than it's inclusion warrants.  Cutting at least green would allow the manabase to be much more resistant to Wastes, and would lessen the chance of mana screw by a good amount.

Tinker works very well, but, i dont know if i have enough good targets.  DSC, Razormane, and Mindslaver are pretty much it.  It seem kinda of a waste to tinker a CoW and small casting cost artifacts like that.

Tinker for DSC = 2 turn clock.  Tinker is worth it just for that.  Definetly up the Brainstorm count to 4 to allow more ways to get DSC back into the deck in case you draw it.  Also, look into squeezing more fetches to fix your mana and to mazimize the utility of Brainstorms.

Also, why no Strip Mine?

What do you normally set the Chalice of the Voids at?

Overall, I don't see it strictly better than Gifts in any way, but an interesting direction to take.

EDIT:  Is 16 blue cards enough to reliably support FoWs?

Do you think you could give a step-by-step description of how you completed a card?  Maybe just pick a specific card that you did, and describe the order/layers/colors/techniques/etc that you used?  I would find that very helpful, and it may give other people motivation to make their own.  Specifically, I really like the way the Bazaar of Baghdad (the one closest to the real card art) on the first power proxy page - but I can't tell what is paint, or sharpie, or ink.

Yes. Im writing a how to guide now. Ill post it w my next update.

Great, I look forward to it!

Great work; all your art is amazing!  I really like the creativity in them - the best I can do for now is just make proxies of pre-existing art.
