Scepter is a card that I love.  I was always happy to get it in MD5 draft, but that’s beside the point.  As long as your Meta allows for less competitive cards then I don't see too much of a problem.  But be aware that it is not optimal and resembles more of a fun card.  I would never play it because I play in competitive fields (Most SCG P9's), but if it works for you in your play area, you win, and have fun, the go for it. 

One thing that I think is missing in this deck is mana vault. It can help you power out a scepter even if it is for a brainstorm (which is not exactly bad).

When it comes to the SB: I'm not a fan of Leyline.  It takes up too many slots become a lot worse when it’s not in you opening hand.  I prefer to run Tormod's Crypts and free up a few spots. I run 1 Crypt main and 2 in the side depending on the Meta.  Crypt has a lot more synergy with the deck then Leylines and has utility late game where Leyline does not (ie TFK and welder).

Just wondering... What does you list look like?

As far as DSC and Platz is concerned:
      I only run DSC as it ends games fast
      Platz is a nice added security, but one that is not necessary.

The number of slavers:
     Two is a must.  This card wins so many games, and two gives you great consistency.
