There is a legacy deck my good friend uses with sensei's diving tops. Could those be useful here as maybe an alternate win condition with something like brain freeze or even ToA or is that too elaborate for this deck and it should just be more focused. Heres the theory anyways, if for some reason you cant get lich's mirror online you can still do something like doomsday, ancestral channel top top ToA. which could be another win condition if something goes wrong or if you dont need 100 mana and could just win if you had a few free storm

First and formost i have to say i told you all so. Also, maybe this doesnt need to be in blue stax maybe 5C could make a serious comeback since it plays like 7 rainbow lands and then moxen lotus and stuff to be able to get blue eisier. I think that this card will be better in 5C because 5c isnt restricted to playing suboptimal locks.

Congrats on tenth and thanks for the report, you say AK was garbage all day. In all the instances you played Inuition for AK AK AK how many of them would have been better or worse if it had been Inuition --> DA DA DA. I understand what you mean on fastbond in testing it in most any deck in the post-gush era it seems like its ok for the first few turns but nothing too special and then its just plain dead in the mid to late game so it acually does something for about 3-4 turns and then i would rather have a grizzly bear. You also said regrowth was pretty hot in this deck but do you think that maybe DT could go a 4C way and splash red for recoup so you could make busted Intuition piles such as regrowth recoup will --> win. One last thing what was the exact list you played???

control is not neccasarily a good match for belcher or for this it seems. it seems like when playing this deck there would be no way you could play the control role against a hardcore control deck like Slaver, this deck runs a total of 8 spells that could have any control over what your opponent does. what im basicly trying to say is with this deck and kinda belcher you have to just go all in as fast as possible in the control matchup and hope for the best and get your xantid swarms ready which is another thing this deck cant even play because right now its mono-blue. also i think some sort of bounce spell is in order here because what happens when your opponent says mana crypt island tinker--> DCS go. I dont think this deck is fast enough to win against that. I also dont like the theory behind ancient tomb, shops would accelerate this deck a lot also because helm is an artifact and shops do that. so tombs should be cut for shops, i know people are gonna say now that tombs can help play TFK's but thats honestly it really.

you also have to ask yourself how is this better then 2 Land Belcher
it falls short to pithing needle just like belcher and belcher has a consistant turn 2 win in competant hands. i aggree with asi that this could become a rebel combo deck if stuff like dark rit was added and maybe with a lot of tweaking it may become as consistant as belcher

maybe there will be a deck formed around time walking enough times in a row to just win. maybe it will be URg because then you could recoup and regrowth and time walk and then do that enough timez, it could also play the painter kill if it needed to because that is a colorless combo. any ideas?

I have been playing this deck over the past few days and i may be going out on a limb here but i think SP is better then brainstorm, and defanately better then ponder, but when it comes to sideboarding i have never brought in the stax package against any one, by the way it seems i guess im just playing wrong so can someone tell me simple sb options to take out to add wastelands and balls. rack and ruin is the first card i reach for in allmost every match, followed by crypt then echoing.
EDIT: Is it just me or is this the same list jimmy played +1 crypt -1 petal, and the sb is only 14 cards im gonna assume the 15th is EE.

this list feels like a RB/w Bazaar Painter list you posted a while ago. If given the ability would you play all 5 moxen. And was the blessing for the random Painter Mirror, because i dont think this would have a problem against Oath

how did the singular hand disruption card and 2 stifles work against combo decks for you, it seems like they would roll you over,
All in all though it looks like an interesting deck to play, albight be kinda strange, how does it play, like gifts or it kinda seems like it plays out like Cerebreal Assassin, control the game using strange cards like intuition until you combo out all of a sudden and then just win.

He had it backwards; Paul won the match and got in.
Ok, I think what you are saying is that in the top8 still, Paul won the match against Jamie so that Paul could continue onto the top4, so then: Paul Mastriano beat Jimmy McCarthy in the finals.
how can that possibly work because after Jamie got beat in the top8 by paul isnt his tournament over. Or, did Paul simply win the top8 match and now the top4 is playing out.

More updates from 13Nova:
Top 8 is:
Mike Solymossy with Drain Tendrils Steve Menendian - not sure what he's playing, but he beat Paul M. in round 7 for the t8 TK with PL Owen with Painter Demars with Strategic Planning Slaver Chris Nieghbor with Mana Ichorid
Moxlotus with our new fish evolution deck is playing vs. Jimmy McCarthy running Strategic Planning Slaver for one of the 2 remaining t8 slots. Jimmy won.
Paul Mastriano beat Jimmy McCarthy in the finals.
I GOT ME... A MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAN DECK.
How does this make sense, from the way Soly puts it Mr. Type 4 wasnt even in the top8

I don't play this deck but what i imagine will get said is that they serve different purposes. I feel Mana leak is meant completely for slowing your opponent down in the early game. Negate on the other hand can slow someone down early game but doesn't stop first turn bob or Tarmogoyf, even though it can be played later in the game. Being the format that it is right now though, Mana Leak is great because combo is so rampant and so Mana Leak is good for most of the game and is able to counter bob where negate cant

is there a top8 update, or who won update would be even better. Btw, what other events are happenning right now, for those of us who follow legacy is that happenning
Round 1 of the t8 is prob being played out right now. I'm guessing a winnar won't me determined for at least another 1.5 - 2 hours. Oh ok, i thought someone had said Oath already won, and btw, how did you do becker

About the sideboard i think that if you could get away with as much 1 or less costing artifacts so that trinket mage could tutor them up, then your all the better. I would like to hear from becker on this too but how difficult would it be to change to a white, almost transformational sb with salvagers and tundra's or something, i know that everyone in the forums has been saying how bad salvagers is compared to magus but i think they do somewhat different things. Salvagers in GY based and there is no way your opponent would think to side in crypts or leylines against you because the Main Deck does not show as though it is graveyard reliant at all. Also, it would open the sb options up to white cards like STP against fish and Chant against combo and potentially even control. On the other hand adding white might make the deck too spread out and overally weaken the deck, thoughts? If you chose not to go the white direction i think the normal bounce suite would be good. Like 1 hurkyl's 1 rebuild 1 chain, and then i think crypt would be better here against ichorid since trinket can find them very eisily. I do like the 1 pithing needle aproach here because two most of the time is redundant and with so much draw in the deck and other tutors and such, the singleton would be easy to find. Against combo i have always liked chalice of the void when playing stax, but that may not work with wanting to play tops and other things. I honestly do not know what would be the best approach here, the options are extirpate, more duress' and thoughtsiezes, another counterbalance, or some combination of all of them. I've been distracted too long now and forgot what i was gonna say, nice deck anywayz becker and gl with it

Just out of curiosity Engine no. 9, where do live in the US where fish is so bad.Other posters ignore this. Couldn't this have just gone into a PM instead of spamming up the forum. And to make sure I'm not, FTK IS GOLD. Play them over lavamancer at least. When you look at all the red sources you play, being non-basic, and look at all 5 wastelands fish plays, you will see that getting 3R once is much easier then getting R every turn, maybe once it will work but once fish sees what you are doing or even when you play the grim guy they will waste you red source and you will have a 1/1. With FTK you pay 3R once and kill a jotun grunt or w/e and then after that i find myself using them as a win condition more so then all my other little doods. Even if your forced to block with them, they still get you 2-for-1. they don't just kill one thing and be done.

Im not sure anyone has alreaduy addressed this, but how does this deck handle EOT hurkyl's recall or rebuild. Does it not just scoop. And Yespuhyren was saying nulll rod is anti-synergetic with all your stuffs. have you tested dropping Null Rod and adding Null Brooch. It would give you good defence against fows and also bounce spells. Plus it has good synergy with the odd feel of the deck, being a rare that most ppl would dismiss as junk. And shouldnt this thread be in the tourney reports forum given how you include a tourney report with this. Deck looks like a hell of a lot of fun to play nonetheless though.

It also depends on what is your sideboard strategy. Against general aggro decks i go
-4 Remand -1 Mindslaver -1 Sundering Titan -1 Gifts Ungiven -1 Platinum Angel
+2 Razormane Masticore +2 Engineered Explosives +2 Repeal +1 Academy Ruins +1 Serrated Arowws (Sometimes i leave a gifts in)
I do this because i know my opponent in bringing in grudges and other artifact hate, so i bring in the ruins/masticore plan to take out at least one critter before it gets grudged and i bring the extra ruins to recur it. I take out Platz because as soon as she comes into play, she usually gets grudged. Repeal is a no-brainer. Engineered Explosives doesn't have to wipe their entire board to be good. When i have 3 post-board, and 2 ruins, i can sometimes just use those as complete critter control without even needing Razormane. The serrated arrows are just to throw in so once your opponent sees them, they will not be so willing to play Kird Ape first turn without a forest in play. And with role assignment, we are the control deck in this match. Unless you get a completely broken hand with 3 tron pieces and razormane, then it's ok to go aggro. But for the most part, play lotsa EOT card drawing and try to have at least one removal spell in hand at all time (Repeal, Wrath, Doj, EE) That might mean taking a little bit of damage before you play some removal. Don't worry about condenscending critters, just DO NOT let them resolve vindicate/molten rain. That is THE top card to counter, all the critters can be dealt with with EE and repeal. But Molten Rain hurts the one thing wer want most, mana.
anywayz, my hands are tired so i hoped this helps

then if you would rather add in something HUGE like leviathin or maybe greator gargadon as something to suspend and sac ichorids/nether shadows to g2/g3. Plus, you have a big discard-outlet 6/6 to be removing to the ghoul
