1  Vintage Community Discussion / Casual Forum / Re: [Deck] Clamp Tendrils on: October 03, 2006, 10:30:57 am
Thanks for the help guys! I replaced the Plunges with Diabolic intent, which is perfect, and added in No rest for the wicked and culling of the weak to replace Spinning Darkness and Basal Thrull I did't add in Ashnod's Altar because I feel that there are already enough sacrifice outlets. I also took out the Coffers because most of the time they aren't useful and lake of the dead works fine if I ever need extra mana.

I built this deck for some basic broken fun using skullclamp, tendrils, and creatures that give mana when they die or come into play.

Creatures: 16
4x Priest of Gix
4x Blood Pet
4x Cathodian
Artifacts:4
4x Skullclamp
Other Spells:22
2x Tendrils
4x Dark ritual
4x Culling of the Weak
4x Diabolic Intent
4x No Rest for the Wicked
Lands:20
2x Lake of the Dead
18 Swamp

This deck was orginally going to be a competitive design but I had no way to test and I don't think it would have been to sucessfull anyway. The point of the deck is to play creatures that can sacrifice themselves for mana or repay mana when they come into play, then use skullclamp, cabal therapy, and plunge into darkness to draw a large amount of cards and find the tendrils then cast with a high storm count (like most tendrils decks). This deck is still very undeveloped and I would like some opinions as to how I can improve it or even if it has competitive potential.

edited for card changes

Just spoiled on Starcity...

New ancestral, of course not nearly as powerful but does anyone see this card getting any play at all? The suspend cost of 4 seems a bit steep, but it seems to be the best of the suspend cards so far.
