Vintage Community Discussion / General Community Discussion / Neglecting Getting Back Into Magic

So every once and a while I find myself on here every now and then; poking around a bit; lurking the forums. I always find myself wanting to play again. I mean, I really enjoyed playing Vintage for the time I did, and truthfully there's nothing stopping me from picking it up again. My only concern would be getting acquainted with this entirely different format, but with some time, even that could be accomplished. Regardless, I'm having a hard time really getting into it. Is anyone else in this position?
Oh, and, hello everyone!

Everyone I know who has one loves it, except for one thing - it sucks as an actual phone, or for texting. It's cool as hell though. Personally, I'm too fond of my qwerty keyboard (and an actual one, not the pop-up one on the iphone screen) to sacrifice it for cool stuff. I'd rather just get an ipod touch, which would be the same thing, effectively.
I actually got used to texting with it extremely quickly and I am at the point I don't really need to look anymore. Not to mention the fact that 90 percent of the time when I type something incorrectly it fixes it for me anyway.

My newest character is very similar to the last (Dunmer, one of every attribute, etc) but I am heavily focusing on getting +5+5+5 every level up. I've been doing that quite a bit and focusing particularly on raising my Endurance, Strength, and Magicka and the bonuses really show. In that I am still exploring the actual game, I haven't felt the need for any real mods, but I will get around to it later on. One regret I have is doing two Endurance skills (block and heavy armor) as main skills so it has the tendency to level me up a little too quick. Does anyone think this will be an issue for me when leveling in the long run?

Well considering I'm yet to actually finish the game, I have a hard time really contributing to my thoughts on the main quest and so on, but everything else has just amazed me. Additionally, I've never actually played Morrowind, and it appears I am missing out.
I am on my sixth character now, only two of which being on the PC. The other four were just quick characters that I made to experiment with the things like character configurations on my friends XBOX. When I did get it for my PC, I was yet to realize the loss to rapidly leveling up, so my first saving was a failure in that I did way too much Alchemy (it being a main skill of mine), and thus causing me to level up quickly, meanwhile doing nothing but giving me better potions and making everything else stronger. To give you an estimate, I would have to fled from trolls because unless I had full health and magicka, I had little chance in killing it.
My last saving, which I am currently playing, was assembled much more strategicly following the "Most used skills as Minor skills" plan. Knowing that I wanted to become master in Conjuration, Armorer, and Sneak, I made sure to leave those out of my original seven. Now, I am master in heavy armor, very close on Armorer, Blade, and Conjuration. Expert in Sneak, Destruction, and Alteration, and Journeyman in all the rest. That being said, I have leveled up some (lvl 22), but being at those skills I've been able to assemble a full set of Daedric Armor (all enchanted with +50 Magicka Sigil Stones), and virtually immune to just about everything with a endless arsenal of Amulets, Rings, and alteration spells.
All that being said, I've basically avoided the main storyline and am only on the "Spies" quest.
In terms of issues I have with the game, I hate the fact that in order to do most things, you have to talk to someone first in order for you to basically know about it. Like for example, I already knew where to locate the Eye of Nocturnal, however I still needed to go to Leyawiin, talk to Weebam-Na (as well as find someone to tell you who they are), and then you can go to Tidewater cave to get the Eye, exchange it for the skeleton key, etc. I've noticed that the kind of thing happens a lot, and I haven't even been playing the game for all that long.
Other than that, the rest is good fun like finding ways to make it so Daedroths can never reach you by stepping up onto rocks, jumping over lava and off the planes of an Oblivion gate, and so forth. However, I still have a long ways to go in this game.

Yeah I've probably gone through five or six characters now still debating on what is perfect. In the first few I was unaware of the perks to leveling up and got in a bit of a pickle when fighting in the wild, but this time around I've made sure to dial everything before leveling up too much. And yes, it is very very time consuming but I have a lot of free time over the winter, so I'm not worried about it.

Have a friend build a computer for you. It's cheaper than buying from a company as you can obtain all the parts individually and cheaper. My friend did, and my PC was looking to be about 2800 from Dell, but we assembled it for around 1500 from Newegg.
Hah I remember talking to you and Glix about this about a year ago. My uncle gave me my last computer for free and for the past few years it actually ran really smooth. He works for IBM and he's really the only person I am friendly with who is good with computers, let alone be able to build one. Though, I'm not gonna lie, I kind of prefer to buy something that comes built. That being said, once I cash yesterday's paycheck I will have a little over five hundred set aside.

So my last computer has inevitably become obsolete and I'm now in the market for a new computer. I was hoping that it'd be compatible with certain games (Oblivion and COD4 specifically), to the point where there would be minimal lagging. However, in that I'm only sixteen I only have so much money to spend. I was wondering if anyone had any reccomendations, because I'm sure many of you are experienced with this kind of thing (where as I am not). Oh, and, hi everyone.

I got really dissapointed when I saw the Zebra Unicorn was in the sideboard. I thought it might have been a part of some crazy new flash combo... Why is the Zebra Unicorn in there? I'm kind of confused by it. I ran the Zebra Unicorn because I figured that, as T00L said, it is both a zebra and a unicorn, and as a combination of both, it cannot be beaten. Next time i'll try out the Ink-Eyes tech. Run it main. You won't.

Today I was thinking about how little moderation takes place in the other forums I've used. I've seen very few posts that don't break any of TMD's rules. I like to think about what would happen if Jacob Orlove took over for a day. All these huge-font fluorescent-colored posts would turn to bold red, and members would be banned by the thousands.

As of late I haven't been posting, or even spending much time at all on TMD. This is probably because I've been reading other forums, and not even really playing Magic anyway. These other ones are mostly BMX-related (think X-Games) and is a hell of a lot different than it is here (especially in terms of moderation). So I got to wondering, what other forums do you guys read and actively post in?
I ride the bmx and can only hope that your talking about bmxboard. Those forums are awesome. www.bmxboard.comYou're going to hate me for saying it, but I use ever-hated TheComeUp board.
