Grats Fish and the rest of the top 8!

I was a member of BD back in the day. I was able to get an account on TMD pre-crash because of knowing some folks in NY and signed back up immediately after the site came back online in Jan 2004. It's hard to believe it has been 10 years already. Even harder to believe is that we had 25 dollar entry, top 8 draft p9 events!

Masters of the Universe has been in the works for a while. They are still searching for a director I believe.
5  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / Re: Tuesday Night Vintage at Pandemonium! on: March 24, 2014, 08:16:54 pm
Been averaging double digits for a while now, let's keep it going! Who is coming out tomorrow? I should have a few extra decks as usual, maybe more if I stop slacking on putting another together, or actually in sleeves.

These events are great practice for the upcoming NYSE qualifier!
6  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / Re: [Boston] Pandemonium NYSE II Qualifier / Power Tournament on: March 24, 2014, 08:13:10 pm
Who is taking this down? I'm ready to ride the 0-2 drop train!

Also, would people want things like drains/duals over a single Mox? There are quite a few options, but nothing set in stone yet. Should it be straight up Vintage playables or Legacy legal cards to maybe bring in that crowd?
7  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / Re: [Top Deck Games] 3/15 - Vintage for $1,000 in prizes! on: March 24, 2014, 08:06:54 pm
Props to Keith and the rest of the T8! Will there be a report posted? I would love to see the lists/metagame.
8  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / Re: Tuesday Night Vintage at Pandemonium! on: March 03, 2014, 12:03:43 pm

Grats to Terry on the win this week! Hopefully we can get a few more next week and consistently hit double digits!
10  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / Re: Weekly Wednesday Night Vintage at Scholars' on: February 05, 2014, 01:55:14 pm
I would be interested in attending some of these Wednesday Night Vintage events. How many people on average play Legacy on these nights?
11  Eternal Formats / Null Rod Based Aggro / Re: Merfolk on: February 03, 2014, 01:21:24 am
I don't believe you need Mutavaults, you just warp your manabase more. The key with Daze is knowing how and when to use it for max tempo gain. Turn 1 Cursecatcher while having Turn 2 Daze is huge. It comes from practice of knowing what your opponent is going to do. Oath is a very winnable matchup, because your guys are uncounterable due to Caverns. This frees up your counters to just focus on Oath of Druids and Show and Tell.

The other strength of Daze is the psychological aspect of playing it. If you catch your opponent off guard game 1 with Daze, it will stay in their mind the rest of the match. Even if you side it out, your opponent is forced to play around the possibility that you do have it. These openings are what can give Merfolk the time it needs to do 20 damage.

Swan Song is cute, but I am not convinced it is the answer.

Grats to the top 4! That winning list is straight #OhioStyle
13  Eternal Formats / Ritual-Based Combo / Re: Doomsday (the Ritual approach) on: January 15, 2014, 01:00:31 pm
My list is tuned to have game against shops by using 2 Hurkyl's Recall and 1 Steel Sabotage maindeck. I have been using a single Dark Ritual maindeck, which I do like. I play frequently against those types of decks, so I wanted to be able to win game 1 much more often. It isn't nearly as impossible as people seem to think.
14  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / Re: Tuesday Night Vintage at Pandemonium! on: January 14, 2014, 11:05:03 am
I have conveniently arranged to bring a friend home to Boston tomorrow, which means I'll be showing up for Vintage!  Hope to see everyone there!

Well that makes my day! Can't wait!
15  Eternal Formats / Northeast U.S. / Re: [Jan 19 2014] Vintage for Power at Pandemonium on: January 10, 2014, 12:14:02 pm
Who am I going to lose to in the "win and in" round with my Craw Wurm deck?

I know you're all scared, but who else is going to t8 this event? Remember, if it does well, the store will be much more open to having these events. The prize support is insane if you look at what is being offered. Anyone from out of the area can crash at my place also. So nobody should worry about hotel costs, just coming to play vintage!
16  Eternal Formats / Global Vintage Tournament Reports and Results / Re: 1st Place - 2013 Vintage Championship - 11/3/2013 on: November 18, 2013, 01:03:24 pm
After an evening of testing, and losing zero games, the Doomsday matchup is very good against Merfolk.  The clock is just a bit too slow compared to the combo. You can ignore the first couple attacks, and win with protection quite easily.

I have my squirrel craft deck all sleeved up and ready to go.

The sanctioned Monday night events have very good video coverage. It works well because they get their name out, and people get great coverage.

I would love to have player interviews and photo coverage. I'm sure people would be willing to do these things for the benefit of the format. The food selection was great. We vegetarians appreciated it very much that options were present.

I'm sure I will think of something else, but the event was a blast.
